Overall good (not great). Pimento cheese appetizer was awesome - delicious, huge, and only $8. The shrimp and grits was mediocre. Grits weren't cheddar grits. Not super flavorful. So better to order something else (the chicken dish I saw looked tasty).
Wonderful restaurant, friendly servers, delicious fried chicken
The food was good. The atmosphere was very nice. The best part of the experience was our server, Ashlie. She was super pleasant and helpful with suggestions. She recognized that we are Muslims and immediately made us aware of all of our pork free options including substitutions. She was very attentive and took great care of us. Thank you Ashlie for an awesome evening.
Service wasn’t great. Server brought out one glass of water, then took at least 5 minutes to bring out another one. I would understand if the restaurant was packed, but there was only 3 other diners at the time of our visit. Food was okay, the black pepper pasta dish was overly salty.
The food was fine, however the service that night was fairly bad. Not sure where the disconnect was, as the waitress seemed fine - likely something between the kitchen and the bar. It took a long time to get our meals, and drinks were served well after the meals. Just not a great night for them.
We went with a large party on a Saturday night, and I was shocked with how empty the restaurant was. Barely anyone else there. Half of our group ordered dinner and dessert, the other half only dessert. The one's who got dinner all raved at how great the food was, and the portions were giant also. The fried chicken was so super tender and delicious. My friend who got mac n cheese said it was the best she'd ever had. The reason we went was the all you can eat pie bar (for only $9) and it didn't disappoint. Lots of options to try (lemon and chocolate mousse were my favorite, although many in the group said the pecan was the best) and a great price for sure. I do feel sorry for anyone else who came after we left, cause we definitely cleaned them out.
Food was very well prepared. Fresh & tasty. Server was fabulous! Friendly, happy & helpful. She did her job with ease & finesse.
Food was over cooked and was very late, service was extremely poor and a lot of apologies!
not as good of an experience as we were used to. way overcrowded and service was extremely slow. waited 1 night for an hour and 20 minutes before going to the Market in Hyatt. Not crowded that night, as hardly any tables were taken. We were told kitchen could not keep up. Room service was definitely taking priority, as my colleague received his meal in about 15 minutes while we continued to wait to even be seated. The restaurant was not staffed properly for Market, College Football championship, or anything else the entire 11 days we were there. very disappointing after long hard days at Market.
The food was good but the service was super slow! Asked for our check 3 times , after 30 minutes still no check!
Waited 30 minutes after my reservation time and then was told they only offered buffet! The entire staff appeared to be overwhelmed, but given the Gift Show takes place twice a year you'd think the could have handled it.
TERRIBLE-they have no idea what a reservation means. Total disorganization and they were rude. Good luck
I have been to Sway before on trips to Atlanta, but this is a worst experience I’ve ever had. Don’t bother making reservations for dinner during a large market or event. We had to stand in line for 1/2 hour with about 20 others who had made reservations as well. There were so many people there, they had a line for non-reservation people too.
I get that they were busy, but reservations should never have been accepted if they had no plans to hold tables for them.
There were many irritated guests.
Once seated, the service was friendly and gracious as ever, but our drinks and food took for ever to arrive. And when our dinners arrived they tasted and looked like they’re been under a heat lamp for way too long.
Not what I’ve ever experienced from them in the past.
Loved the little pricey
Possibly the worst dining experience in Atlanta ever. Food was cold; wait staff was non existent; drink service took forever. Overall a disheartening experience after reading so many positive reviews. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great atmosphere. Great service.
The waitress Ashley and hostess (forgot name) were great on Christmas Day. The steak was tender and juicy. Food was plentiful. Great service
ZAervice was good. Food was served fast. It was hot . The grilled chicken breast was excellent. Server Ashley was on point the entire night.
Took the family for Christmas Day lunch. Great food, great service.
I loved eating here. Great food. Wonderful service. Waitress was so kind and thoughtful. I will be back.
From NY and first time in ATL — my sis heard about Sway from an Insider video. Our server Jeniece, was very nice and attentive.
We had the crab dip, chicken, ribs and (all you can eat) pie bar.
We took half of our entrees home because the portion sizes are quite large (you do get your money’s worth).
I believe there were about 4 different pies, tarts and one choco mousse. Wish there was a PEACH cobbler tho! Oh and you get a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream if you partake in the pie bar. My sis is allergic to fruits and could have only been able to try the choco mousse (as much as she would have wanted to have the pie) but she was given ice cream too which was nice.
Would definitely come back to try out the other entrees if back in the area.
* The restaurant closed at 10pm. But we had a 9:30 reservation... Thursday night we really didn’t need one. The food came out in a timely fashion and even though it was late there was still an adequate amount of pies and yummies to choose from 🙂
Due to bad weather, they were understaff... very long wait and poor service, not to mention that they were out of stock in beverage (missing some beers and wines). But food was excellent!
Food was outstanding and our server Randall was amazing!
Everyone in our party found unique fun things of different tastes.
Sway's fried chicken far surpassed the well-known, but very disappointing restaurant within walking distance known for their Southern cooking (PP's). Delightful crunch, not greasy, nice delicate flavor, accompanied by mashed potatoes and gravy, all served in cast-iron Staub. Black pepper tagliatelle w/mushrooms, squash, and arugula was flavorful, also. We'd definitely return. Iris was welcoming with her southern charm, recommending entrees.
Definitely order the fried chicken entree.
I had a reservation at 6:00. When I got there it wasn't too crowded. I really liked the warm casual feeling of the restaurant. Even though it was situated on the side of the hotel lobby it was still very nice and not too noisy. We started with the sampler appetizer. It was a nice start to dinner just enough for two people. I order the chicken and my date order the shrimp and grits. The chicken was very good, and my date enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The dessert bar is excellent, and you must try the honey bee ice cream. Though not enough to keep me from coming back, I think that the wait staff could be more attentive. We were there for at least an hour, but not one time was I offered a refill on my beverage. I wasn't even offered coffee. Maybe they were short staffed that night, but little details like this makes a big difference to me.
Sadly disappointed with service and food.
Waited for a long time to get greeted by our server at the table and get our drinks. Took an even longer time for our food and check.
Food and dessert was bland. Overpriced for subpar food and service.
This is my go to when I don’t want to deal with long lines and crazy crowds.. food is always good and service is usually good as well.
The service was outstanding and the food...WOW it was incredible! Highly recommend!!!
The food was fantastic! Our server was friendly and very helpful! It was very kid-friendly. We would go back again when in Atlanta!
While the server was friendly she was slower than molasses. Twenty minutes to get 2 mixed drinks and two iced teas that we asked for three times. We finally got bread that she was going to be right back with after we asked the manager for it 40 minutes later. After over an hour we got our entrees, one of which was ch okey instead of salmon. When they finally brought the salmon it wasn’t prepared good. The manager made no excuses or apologies but did provide free dessert. At least we had a good time together.
Food was excellent. Server was phenomenal. She comped us a chocolate torte when we couldn’t decide what to get for dessert!
Service was excellent, very accommodating. Food (ribeye and wedge salad) was very good. A bit pricey but not insane - but maybe downtown ATL is just expensive.
Overall reasonable buffet option ; egg station fair ; pastries excellent ;chicken sausage great ; fresh fruit super
Not super inspirational. Fairly clinical atmosphere and the service didn’t particularly standout. Now in their credit it was dragon con weekend. I had fried chicken and kids had burgers. Perfectly good, but nothing special.
Our party of four indulged in Sway's buffet during one of the three biggest events in downtown Atlanta, DragonCon. The food was quite good with a decent variety of items from which to choose. The value is there and still offers a great people/costume watching experience from almost any table in the restaurant. We will continue to dine at Sway each time we are in the area. PS. Don't forget the dessert.
Chicken not cooked well, bread not hot, table still wet from previous cleaning. Potatoes were great, sweet tea had a twist added with sugar cane. Waitress was nice!
Review posted in Yelp, still on anniversary weekend.,,really not worth talking about anymore, in a word bad, for a comment Sway away!!!
We were staying at the hotel and had dinner our last night there at Sway. WOW, is all I can say. Yes, the prices are kinda high, but it is worth it. The food was excellent. We had appetizers, a salad, carolina crab dip, and the buttermilk fried shrimp and okra. The shrimp was excellent, four large shrimp and 3 pieces of okra (I have to say I am not an okra fan), my son loved the crap dip. Entrees, the rib eye, buttermilk fried chicken and the St. Louis bbq ribs. The rib eye melted in your mouth, it was one of the best steaks I have ever had in a restaurant (this wasn't even my entree, I just had bite). The fried chicken (with mashed potatoes) was the best Fried chicken I had in Atlanta. And I had tried Mary Macs (it was good, but not great) and Gus's. My son liked the ribs too. I passed on dessert, but my son and husband enjoyed it. FYI, the dessert is all you can eat..but we were too full at that point!! I would definitely go to Sway again if I was in Atlanta.
