Service and food was excellent as always. Loved tasting the rare whiskeys they had in stock.
Bad food, overpriced. I will not go back. Nice looking place, however and centrally located.
We reserved a table at Swank and Swine specifically for their steak dish. Unfortunately, an entire party before us ordered steak leaving none left for us to order. Therefore,
we did not stay for dinner. Hostess was very apologetic. The survey would not allow me to proceed without rating each category which is why all ratings were low.
Swank is the restaurant we at in on a quiet Sunday eve with pleasant service and good food. Three in ur party of five gave the steelhead five stars. short ribs and duck got fours. Swine is the cozy bar nearby and ideal for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap. Easy to find just a block off Broadway.
We went for dinner before going to listen to a speaking event which started at 8:00 pm. Our reservation was at 6:15. We were seated immediately and ordered some cocktails. The waiter came by to see if we wanted to order when we got our cocktails. We told him we were going to an event, and after checking g his watch, he said we had time and would come back in ten mins. He came back and we ordered. At about 7:20 or so, we started wondering where our food was as we only had about 20 minutes to eat it. We asked about our order and was told the kitchen was a little backed up and should come out shortly. One of the managers came by and explained the the situation again but had comped our dinner. The food came about 7:30. We quickly ate it, which was excellent tasting, paid for our cocktails and made it to our event.
We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and always had a great experience.
Beautiful flavors and presentation of drinks and dinners. She had the Wild Salmon Tortellini, I had Mary’s Farm Chicken. Service was a bit slow getting started, the wait staff might have included one more given the number of tables to be served. But our foods arrived timely and steaming hot, so we got to our show on time. The owner was very interested in our enjoyment of the restaurant and checked in with us and other diners. Nice touch.
Very poor service, left waiting for drinks we’d ordered for over 20 minutes, also had to request the complimentary donuts.
They did take the drinks off the bill which was nice
One of the best steaks we have had. Wait staff was efficient and not overly intrusive.
Very enjoyable dinner. Food was excellent. “Swine bar” next door was a great way to end the evening with a whiskey.
We booked on the recommendation from a past guest who said they had the best pork (being a namesake).
Two odd observations:
1) there was no pork on the menu, except one dish which was unavailable this night.
2) We went at 7 p.m. on a Wednesday. And while that may not be a huge traffic time, there was literally no one else in the restaurant the entire time we ate. 🤷🏼♂️
Sunday brunch, waitress and staff were amazing, facilitated a last minute addition to the party. The food was delicious, will definitely be back.
Thanks for a great evening. No one rushed us until it was time to clise. We had a great time with our friends.
Excellent, attentive service, high quality food and fairly priced. Plus, can't go wrong with those bottomless mimosas! Will be back.
Our server was not very attentive: she walked away in the middle of taking our drink order so half of our group didn't get a chance to order their drinks the first go around, we had to ask for refills on hot water for our tea as she never asked if we needed a refill, and dishes from the first course were not taken away prior to our main entrees coming out. Our main entrees were served sporadically amongst our group and it took several minutes for the last dish to finally be served. And, the food was one-dimensional and mediocre at best.
Attentive and friendly service with innovative, palate-pleasing takes on NW cuisine. Not too crowded or noisy. What a gem!
I can't say enough about Swank & Swine. From the service, to the wine to the food, the entire experience was amazing.
Great meal! Creative items on the menu but they’re not too avant garde. Really nice ingredients. Nice but not too upscale. Great service.
Staff was amazing. We went for drinks and I proposed to my girlfriend. The staff made sure everything was perfect for us.
Our party of 6 had a fabulous first experience at Swank & Swine. Service was great. The atmosphere was perfect, loved the decor. we all tried something different and enjoyed everything. The cheese plates are a must have. We'll definitely be back.
They weren’t open even though we got there almost 2 hours before closing and Open Table wouldn’t let us cancel the reservation to make one at a different location, the app said we had to call the restaurant. Well the restaurant was closed so we were stuck. Terrible experience.
The service was great and the food was outstanding.
The food was really hit or miss. The Chicken and Pork dumplings and the cheese plates were outstanding but the main dishes of rockfish pozole and duck were both very underwhelming. The duck fat was overly chewy and the fish was so pungent i couldnt taste much else on the plate. The dish sounded great on paper but in reality I couldnt finish the plate.
They had a table ready when we arrived. Menu had a good variety of items, including vegetarian items. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We will def be back!
The chicken and waffles was underwhelming and bland. The huevos rancheros was very good. I enjoyed the warmth of the atmosphere and would give the restaurant another try.
We had an amazing experience! I had made an online reservation for Swank for my fiance’s birthday. The morning of our dinner, I got a call from Josh, the manager, letting me know that Swank would be closer that evening but if we still wanted to come to Swine, he’d take good care of us. He definitely delivered and hooked us up with a cheese plate as soon as we arrived and a dessert on the house. We were treated so well, the food and drinks were fantastic and we enjoyed the vibe. We will definitely be back and will tell everyone about our positive experience!
Wonderful ambiance and food was top notch. Definitely plan to return at some point.
Awful, worst experience in my 59 years of dining out. Server was surly, had disdain for my reply when asked how our meal was. Wow. One server for the entire dining room? Won’t last long at this level. Dessert was not described on menu accurately or by the server. My meal had three scallops on the plate. The other half of plate was bare, looking down at the expanse if white stoneware when served.... I wanted to laugh. Do not eat here.
Great burger, excellent Manhattan.
We had a fabulous waitress and service. It was a Tuesday night 8 pm and very quiet. She made excellent recommendations on wine and the food was excellent. Scallops, duck, dessert also top notch.
Love this place, great food in a perfect location!
The food was really good but every item was trying to be “trendy” sometimes at the detriment so we were turned off of a few menu items that were trying to do too much. But what we did order was delicious. The service wasn’t great but that seems to be a bit of a norm in most of Portland. The restaurant is super cute though!!
Great flavors in both the soup and the entree. Wine by the bottle and not just the glass should be offered.
The service was extremely slow. There were very few tables in the restaurant. Our Drink / app order was forgotten, and we had to place it twice.
The food tasted very good.
The service was terrible. The server could not get my order right and was unresponsive when called upon. I don’t plan to return.
Swank & Swine provided a delightful experience. The menu was small, but everything on it seemed very good. The food we ordered was delicious. Servers were very friendly and helpful.
I always tell people from out of town that the level of food in Portland is just high across the board and you're unlikely to have a BAD meal. I finally get to eat my words on that. We've been to Swine before and weren't over the moon about it so figured we would try Swank this time. The atmosphere is nice and it wasn't crowded - but holy cow, talk about slow service. It was a good 20 minutes before my wife and I got our drinks and an hour before we got our dinner. At which point, I realized the steak was actually just a vessel to deliver pepper. Seriously, I've probably never eaten a dish that had so much pepper ground on top of it. I thought maybe I'd done something to offend the server and I was being pranked. Unfortunately, since it had already taken so long and we were potentially going to be late for our show - I didn't send my dish back. If ever there is a time it's warranted - it's a $35 plate of ground pepper. I can think of very few times I've had a meal that was over $100 for two people and I had remorse as soon as I saw the bill - but this is one of those times. Definitely won't return to either place - even if the staff are friendly.
Appetizer forgotten than food came up at the same time and sat = cold food. Not a big deal if you acknowledge it, at all. Server never came back and by the end didn’t even speak to us. It was super weird and we are very easy going diners. Strange.
The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered invoked "mmmmmm's" and "OMGs".
Great food and service. Though they ran out of menu items, especially deserts.
