SW Steakhouse - Wynn Las Vegas
Book your next event with us
My second visit. Just as good. Food and service are wonderful.
This is a staple for a Vegas vacation
THE YOUNG LADY AT THE FRONT CHECK IN TABLE NEEDS TO TONE DOWN HER CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE. I AM AWARE THAT MY BASEBALL CAP IS NOT TO BE WORN AT THE TABLE, BUT I DO NOT NEED HER TO BE SO HIGH AND MIGHTY ABOUT IT WHILE I AM STILL SITTING AT THE CHAIRS IN THE ENTRY AT 5:15.
Huge disappointment. This wasn’t my first time at the SW and with it’s impeccable attention to the overall breathtaking ambience. So it was a no brainer to make a reservation here for my birthday as we are staying at The Wynn. I made my reservation over a month ago on Open Table, letting them know it was my birthday and that I wanted to sit outside by the Lake of Dreams. We got there earlier than our reservation time (9:40 pm, our reservation was at 10:00 pm). We told the hostess we knew we were early but we wanted to let them know we were there. She was super rude and looked extremely annoyed and said that with my specifications (sitting outside) we had to wait. We told her we understood but that we just wanted to let them know we had arrived. We were not seated until 10:20 pm and were told that the kitchen closed at 10:30 pm. Everything was completely rushed because they sat us late, and I didn’t even get my complimentary dessert for my birthday. In fact, I was still enjoying my meal when one of the servers grabbed my plate to remove it and I had to tell him I wasn’t done with my meal yet. HUGE let down...I wanted this to be a special dinner and that’s why I chose this restaurant, but they absolutely ruined it. Only thing that saved it was the beautiful ambience and the delicious food.
While expensive, everything about the dining was exceptional. I had the NY Strip and my new wife the Filet Mignon, both of which were melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection. I've never had better.
I come here every time in LV. The venue is upscale and comfortable, the service superb and the food worthy. Only beef is with the hostesses. They are too inexperienced (code for young girls who don’t have the gravitas for greeting at this fine restaurant).
Had the NY strip....wonderful!
The ambiance was amazing, especially being out on the patio by the Lake of Dreams. Make a reservation in advance. I recommend more than a few days. They do have a really cute, feel-good water and light show on the Lake of Dreams, which started at 8pm and runs every half hour after. This can also be viewed from an open patio with a bar upstairs as well, if you are not able to get a reservation time closer to the times of the show. Service was good (had 2 waitresses), food was good. I had the Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer (4 JUMBO Mexican shrimp), the 8oz. Filet Mignon (with a sampling of the three steak sauces they offer; the SW sauce was the best to me), Broccolini and the Truffle Cream of Corn. I was not a big fan of the Truffle Cream of Corn, as the Truffle taste was overpowering. This might not be an issue if you are a big truffle lover. Overall I had a great experience, and would definitely return.
Filet was very well cooked, great portion size, and extremely tender but lacked seasoning. Sides were fantastic and would recommend trying anything available. Servers were professional, helpful, and very informative.
Absolute the best meal I have had in Vegas five years running! No where else holds a candle to the SW! Have the domestic wagyu with the porcini pepper crust and a lychee martini!
We had an amazing meal! Complete with a lovely table on the balcony, overlooking the show. Staff are very friendly and very accommodating.
Birthday! Cory is far and beyond the greatest server I have ever seen in action! I recommend SW to every person I meet in town that is looking for a great dining experience and to every friend I have that ever plans on going to Las Vegas. ?/10 because any number would be an understatement and wouldn’t do SW justice.
50th wedding anniversary
As always fantastic! My favorite restaurant in Las Vegas
You get what you pay for, and here you pay a lot. Amazing
The service and food are top notch. It can become a loud environment due to the intermittent digital show in front of the waterfall and lake. It's fun and live. It has the presentation and service of a high class romantic dining experience but the social sounds of a sports bar in that everyone is talking over everyone.
Unfortunately my expensive anniversary dinner was ruined due to a table next to us was allowed to curse and carry on a loud conversation as if they owned the place.
It's a classy place but obviously it's not required for guests to respect the restaurant or its guests seeing as the head waiters or the floor manager did not take notice that multiple tables / guests were affected.
I'm not a Vegas elite so I guess my meager $350 dinner means little to the privileged ones allowed to ruin my evening.
My advice for the next guest... The place is great but please speak up and notify the floor manager immediately if there's something wrong.
* I spoke to the management after the fact and they vehemently apologized. They are good people but unfortunately they are tasked to notice such obvious things. In this occasion they failed *
Fantastic food. I know this sounds cliche but it really was the best steak I've ever had. I had the fillet and my wife had the New York strip. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and literally those were the best crab cakes ever. Service was perfect. Be prepared to spend at least $100-$150/person with tip, but wow it was worth it. The ambiance is great, be there at 8:30 and you get to see a little light show over the pond.
Wonderful venue- quintessentially Las Vegas
It was the perfect place for a nice quiet birthday feast!
Staff not polite
Was possibly the best food I’ve ever had
Overall, very good. However, the only reason we booked there was because we had seen an article on FB about the gold chocolate liquor bar they were supposed to have. Would have been nice if someone told us before we got there they didnt offer it anymore. My wife was disappointed as this was for her birthday.
The service and location of this place is lovely however we ordered the steak with fries and it came on a cold plate which meant the steak going cold almost straight away , and the seasoning on the fries was so overpowering it took away any taste of anything else. Very disappointed given the fantastic reviews , we were looking forward to a outstanding meal experience which we did not get .
Fantastic view, food, ambience & service. I highly recommend this restaurant if you get something special day! :)
We had the chili rub double rib eye!! Fabulous!!
If you want the most flavorful steak in the world , you have to go. I wanted the tenderloin, but they unfortunately were out so I chose the Rib Cap. Worth every penny. Flavor was indescribable.
Birthday, always great!
Superb food and wine, in a very nice ambience by the Wynn’s lake and cascade. The beef meat at the SW is simply the best in Las Vegas. The wine list is outstanding also.
Excellent food and service
We had a fantastic evening in this restaurant. The food, service and ambiance were all great.
Salad, bread, ribeye, potatoes and cheesecake....all out of this world. Charred steak is superb!! Service was top notch and looking out on the waterfall was very relaxing. You will not be disappointed.
Great wait staff
Inattentive and sub-par service. There was no visible leadership of the staff. Food presentation unattractive. Dress code not enforced. Lake of Dreams uninspiring.
Great food but be prepared to pay top dollar for your meal.
Un extraordinario lugar
Every year I enjoy a good piece of rib eye that never disappoints. You won’t find a better steakhouse in Las Vegas
Highly recommend SW Steakhouse, particularly for a special occasion. We had a wonderful outside table right off the Lake of Dreams. Both our meals were outstanding, although I my steak was more on the medium side yet requested medium rare. The teriyaki green bean side should not be missed.
Bad place in the restaurant
Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Indoor dining with an open outdoor view of the waterfall.
Amazing wait staff that were never far and seemed to know exactly what we all wanted and needed before we did.
Delectable food. My husband could eat steak daily and this is now in his top 3. I enjoyed the tomato and mozzarella salad with the lychee martini.
We’ll be back on our next Vegas trip.
Our family ate at SW Steakhouse for my son's 21st birthday. SW Steakhouse serves fantastic food. It's truly mouthwatering delicious. I've eaten at many fine dining steakhouses over the years, and SW's dishes are right up there in the top tier. For starters I had the tuna tartar, my wife and daughter had the shrimp cocktail, and my son had the crab soup. For our entrees, I had the boneless ribeye, my daughter had the filet, and my wife and son both had the salmon. Dessert was creme brulee, and they brought out a little piece of cake for my son, which was nice of them.
Unfortunately I have to report that the service was just average-good. The servers were very friendly and engaging, but the service itself was very slow, especially after we were seated. It took almost 20 minutes before we received our drink order. As a result we only ordered one drink. That's unacceptable at any restaurant, but a mortal sin at a fine dining establishment. The food came out at average intervals, but it was pretty slow overall. We weren't in a hurry, so the pace was fine; however, not getting a drink for 20 minutes to start the experience really started the dinner off on the wrong foot. We sat in the outside area, which was nice, but it got a little chilly when the sun went down. They eventually turned on the heater, but it was a bit uncomfortable for a period of time. While we enjoyed the dinner, I can't see myself going back when I can pay 20-30% less for a comparable food experience at other fine dining restaurants.
