About SW Steakhouse - Wynn Las Vegas
Star chef David Walzog presents his unique interpretation of the classic American steakhouse along Wynn's Lake of Dreams. As befits a top-notch chophouse, SW offers a selection of expertly charred steaks, including a succulent porterhouse-for-two, New York strip, dry-aged tomahawk chop and Walzog's signature chile-rubbed double cut rib eye. SW also offers a wide variety of seafood and poultry options, and such innovative side dishes as black truffle creamed corn and cipollini onions with charred jalapeno. SW's décor matches its steakhouse-with-a-twist cuisine brilliantly, with an opulent dining space that radiates glamour, punctuated by floor-to-ceiling windows framing postcard views of the three-acre lakefront and forested mountain. The adjoining open-air dining terrace offers prime views of the multi-media shows of sound, light, video and puppetry that unfold both on the lake and against it's 90-foot tall coursing waterfall.

SW Steakhouse - Wynn Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Booked online months in advance and was so glad I did. This restaurant was packed. And yet – you had more than enough room to have a private conversation at your table, you were able to enjoy the thoughtful setting of the venue, and the food was spot-on. When we were sitting there, in the well lit, yet romantic room, my dining companion said something that summed it up best for me… “This is a women’s steak house.” It was done in luxurious beiges, a departure from the oftentimes dark and hard “old school” steak houses. The food was terrific -- crab legs with orange butter were a special and we felt fortunate to have been there when they were offered -- really a wonderful flavor. Steaks were on the money. Rib Eye and Filet -- done to perfection. Our side was the potato tarte -- I'd recommend this (our waiter recommended to us). Overall, next time I am at Wynn, I will be headed back to SW.
The restaurant was beautiful the server was rude and impatient and took forever to come back to us. The food was subpar except for the side dishes. The only saving grace was the woman who helped us with the wine selections. She was awesome I wish she was at every restaurant I’ve visited.
The Wagyu steak was a huge disappointment. The steak taste was like any other steak. I ordered my steak medium and only one end was medium. The other end was very rare. The wait staff was exceptional except they should have offered something for the poorly cooked steak. The ambiance was exceptional as was the desert. We had high expectations of SW and overall they did not deliver on the hype.
Gf is vegetarian and hard to find a steakhouse with vegetarian options -- this place has many alternatives which was perfect.
Steak was great
Amazing Caesar salad one of the best
Delicious teriyaki greenbean side
Loved the every 30 minute visual show outside water fountain
Our server was mediocre. Not sure if it's because we are "younger" so he didn't give us as much attention as necessary but luckily the B server was fantastic. Wish I could've given him the entire tip.
Very good - but not the best. We tried SW for the first time this past week. My wife and I both ordered filet mignons, medium rare. My wife’s was mid-rare but the char was way too much. My filet was medium at best, and when I sent it back, the replacement was perfectly mid-rare - but no char at all. For one of the more expensive filets on the Strip, I expected better.
Really great food the filet was incredible and cooked perfectly. My wife loved the scallops and we had several amazing cocktails that were authentic. Place was very loud and not very romantic for a date. Reasonably priced for the quality. I spent $335 including a $75 tip. We got 2 entrees, two sides, two salads, 1 soup and 5 cocktails. Would definitely go back.
We went to SW and had been looking forward to it for a month. The service was good but we were very disappointed in the steaks. They were bland with no flavor. We spent a lot of money for a subpar meal. My husband and I make better steaks at home. I would recommend going elsewhere.
We've been to SW several times, and the jury has still been out. This time sealed our opinion. We booked our reservation 2 months in advance, and were told the only options that were close to what we wanted (6:30) were 5:30 or 9pm. Nine o'clock was too late for us, so we opt'd for 5:30. We showed up at 5pm to have a drink at the bar, and were told that the bar and restaurant didn't open until 5:30pm. Funny how they opened at our exact time of reservation. However, when we left at 7:30pm, the restaurant was still less than 1/2 full.
The steak (we ordered prime, not wagyu or better) was average for this price. it's served with a hot spice on it, and with hot peppers that heat it even more. Its over priced for the quality of the steak. Try Del Friscos, or Ruths Chris for the same steak.
Over priced. Over rated. Nice place, but not going back.
Highly overrated, if you choose meat a clear set of instructions is necessary to save a potentially very expensive steak (too much salt is the most common thing here). Wine list is good, cocktails are good, service very good. The show in the lake can a pro or a cons depending on personal tastes.
Sitting by the Lake of Dreams while dining here is a must. We requested this in our reservation, and we were seated directly lakeside. The shows on the lake are wonderfully entertaining.
The food was very good. Although, I would not order the grass-fed filet again. The cuts had great texture, but I was missing flavor. I know grass-fed beef has less fat, and I think it requires lower heat, but I was missing a crusty sear and beefy flavor. We very much enjoyed the Caesar salad, au gratin potatoes, and creamed spinach. The Tahitian vanilla creme brulee was incredible. Our wait staff was attentive, kind, helpful, and paid special attention to our anniversary with a congratulatory message on our dessert plate. Overall, it was a memorable meal. We will come again!
The food was not worth the price. For a 6 oz filet order, I received two small 3 oz filets, very reminiscent of the vacuum packaged filets at the grocery store. The meat was not flavorful.
The service was decent until you asked a question outside of their script. We were the for the Waygu Kobe beef, but the server could not speak intelligently about any of the options.
The water glasses, however, remained full at all times by Jamie. He made us smile. :-)
A special end to our Vegas vacation. Superb service. Delicious food (each course) and the largest and best shrimp cocktail I’ve ever had the privilege to eat. Excellent martinis and champagne. Lovely ambiance. Next time we come to the Wynn, we will definetly make reservations at the SW.
We requested and were seated outside on the terrace. Cool evening but outdoor heaters provided for comfortable dining. Waitstaff were courteous and unobtrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals of steak and sides. The bonus was the pool show each half hour. A very memorable dining experience.
