About SW Steakhouse - Wynn Las Vegas
Star chef David Walzog presents his unique interpretation of the classic American steakhouse along Wynn's Lake of Dreams. As befits a top-notch chophouse, SW offers a selection of expertly charred steaks, including a succulent porterhouse-for-two, New York strip, dry-aged tomahawk chop and Walzog's signature chile-rubbed double cut rib eye. SW also offers a wide variety of seafood and poultry options, and such innovative side dishes as black truffle creamed corn and cipollini onions with charred jalapeno. SW's décor matches its steakhouse-with-a-twist cuisine brilliantly, with an opulent dining space that radiates glamour, punctuated by floor-to-ceiling windows framing postcard views of the three-acre lakefront and forested mountain. The adjoining open-air dining terrace offers prime views of the multi-media shows of sound, light, video and puppetry that unfold both on the lake and against it's 90-foot tall coursing waterfall.

SW Steakhouse - Wynn Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
I was very disappointed in my visit to this restaurant. I was wearing a spaghetti strap dress and was told to cover up after already being seated. My outfit was far from revealing yet I had to put on a coat for the remainder of my visit. The temperature inside the restaurant was not one that would make this comfortable for me. I would have been able to ignore this fact if the food was at least decent. The food was extremely low quality and their descriptions were inaccurate. Their "aged steak" was nothing more than a regular slab of meat. We spent over $700 at our dinner for food that was average at best in an environment that was not accommodating. I would not return or recommend this restaurant. I am willing to spend money at a high end, deserving establishment, not this.
So disappointed with this experience. I have been to the Wynn for many years and always enjoyed SW Steakhouse but this experience was horrific. The wait staff acted like we were bothering them and rarely came by our table. My drink arrived at the end of my meal with no apologies. The Caesar salad was over dressed and the Romaine soggy. We couldn’t finish our meal fast enough so we could leave.
This was our 4th time eating at the SW. It was as usual, absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, to the end of the meal you will be treated like royalty. The food is nothing short of amazing. My husband likes his steaks well done. He ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Every time we visit Vegas we will make a reservation at the SW, no doubt. The staff are superb.
Thanks for everything!
This was an outstanding dining experience. We were celebrating a birthday. We had a fantastic view of the lake and water wall. Our service was phenomenal...very well done. We ordered the Steve salad, filet and scallops entree. We split these and they were excellent. The steak perfectly prepared. The food quality was excellent. Would definitely recommend!
The food at SW from the Bloody Mary cocktail to the complimentary truffles to end meal was outstanding. The Kobe beef, while expensive, is a must-try bucket list item for any steak lover. The meat was crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside. Imagine steak more tender than filet mignon, with very intense beef flavor! The creamed spinach side was a perfect accompaniment to the steak.'
Service was simply impeccable with a great view of the fountain across the way. While the meal is expensive by Vegas standards, it is definitely worth visiting!!
We were about 15 minutes early for our reservation and were able to be seated almost right away. We got a table right by the lake, which is what I had requested. The host and waiters were all very pleasant. The meal was pricey, but we knew that going in. I got the filet and I feel it was just average. My husband got the NY steak and it was delicious- very flavorful. I would say it's a little more expensive than some of the other steakhouses we have tried in Las Vegas, but the outdoor seating and intermittent lake show made for a nice atmosphere.
Steaks were excellent. Fois Gras was good, not Prime 112, but good. Wine list was exceptional. Had a nice bottle of Abacus. Didn't see Sine Qua Non on the list but then again the Sommelier never came over to tell me what he had on reserve.
The service was pretty funny as they must have thought we were a bunch of hillbillies as they asked two of our party to remove their hats and kept explaining/repeating what "a la carte" meant. They treated us like country bumpkins that had never been to the big city.
But I am sure in Vegas, all things are possible.
I would recommend if you can drop a few grand on dinner @ 530 PM on a Wednesday night to let two old Texans sport their hats.
Made sure to chew on the bone of the 130 dollar tomahawk steak - just to make sure they didn't have any illusions about who we were.
Just what I would expect in Vegas.
SW is our must do restaurant whenever we visit Las Vegas. The food is excellent, the wait staff professional and the parasol down water show always creative. Great for a business dinner or an evening with good friends. The steak is butter knife tender and the family style side dishes are a perfect enhancement to the meal.
Great atmosphere, great service and one of the best filets I’ve had. They brought bread to the table and we normal turn it down until the server said try the pretzel roll. THE BESt, could of eaten a basket full. I ordered a liquor they didn’t have in the restaurant, so they went to another bar in the hotel to get it for me. We split a chopped salad, plenty big and ordered gnocchi, teriyaki green beans and scallop potatoes as sides with our filets. Everything was tasty and the FILET melted in my mouth. I can’t wait to go back.
Unfortunately our time was limited at the SW Steakhouse because of our flight, an early reservation was the only possibility. We informed our servers (top notch) and they were able to accommodate us so we could enjoy our wonderful meal. The Lobster was a dream and the filet was done to perfection. The bread basket and butter which I normally try to avoid, but didn't, was well worth the calories....The sides are generous and delicious. We sat outside which is lovely (bring a wrap it gets a little cold). Sadly time did not allow for dessert which sounded wonderful, I definitely would have splurged if time had allowed! Treat yourself, SW is special.
