Suzy Wong's House of Yum Ratings and Reviews
Suzy Wong's is such a fun brunch spot! There were numerous delectable food selections, including comfort food and Nashville specialities. My crab benedict was wonderful, although a bit on the heavy side. My friend loved the chicken and waffles. The entertainment is the highlight of the brunch. The drag queens perform every 15 minutes and are hilarious! Definitely a must-see for visitors and locals alike.
This place is fun and definitely a novelty for someone who hasn't seen a lot of drag queens. BUT, the Nashville food scene is so good I am disappointed to have wasted one meal here. The food is just alright. The real attraction is the drag show. Only go if you really like drag and don't care about food so much. Good service though.
We've been to Suzy Wong's before and always have a great experience. Everything was right on par this past visit. They were out of pork for the nachos, but substituted with chicken and it was still pretty good. Bonus! They were having a drag show the night we went.
I do realize that this was holloween how ever the service was poor and hap hazard. Total of 5 patrons . Bartender appeared to be new and didn’t know how to pour a double of patron. Took 12 mins to get a bottled beer. Got up a left and went to a different restaurant.
I have been a fan of SW for a long time. Until Sunday. 10/29/2017, my friends and I attended the drag brunch and honestly, it was very basic. I ordered the Fishbowl for 19.00 and although it looked impressive, there was very little alcohol in the mixture. I should have been feeling pretty good after that 19.00 drink but not even a buzz. The drag queen performed twice and it was more of a Jr High talent show gone wrong than a "drag show". Very basic and honestly, not very good. I had the Shrimp and grits which were on point however my friends had the chicken and waffles which should have been called "chicken aweful". There was no flavor other than the syrup that we poured over the dish and it was about as tasteless as the drag show itself.
over all, the drag brunch was pretty bad and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was overpriced and poorly done. I paid about the same amount for the Drag Brunch in Miami and it was worth every penny. Take a lesson Suzy Wongs and elevate your game. I suggest a flat rate which includes a show brunch and unlimited drinks. Another idea would be to simply have a drink special and a better selection of flavorful brunch items and a much better show.
Food was excellent. But, we made reservations because the place is hard to get into. We got seated in the very back (into the tribe area, outside of suzy wong’s). We felt like we couldn’t get the true experience and it really bummed us out. There was only one couple back there with us too..very quiet. 😕
Love love love this place! Definitely the best place for the most fun brunch! We went for drag n brunch and Vanity was phenomenal! Such a sweetheart! Everyone from the host, wait staff, bartender were all so accommodating and wonderful! Had the best time for my friends 40tb Bday celebration. We will be back .... and FYI the food was out of this world!
Everything about the experience was great besides our greeting at the front door. The hostess claimed we didn't have a reservation, we then showed her our confirmation email from open table and she proceeding to answer by saying "You can come look at my computer right here, you don't have a reservation. You're lucky we're not busy today, we'll see if we can set up a table for you." Other than that our server was wonderful as were all other staff members.
It was not our first time dining here, we enjoyed the drag portion - Vanity was delightful. We also had an amazing server, Cody- and Nick was his fill in while he wrapped up a large table that was leaving. The food was just good tonight, not great. Not sure what was going on, but it was a bit of a disappointment- we bragged on how creative and yummy everything was - and it just wasn't!
I will preface this by saying we never got the opporunity to order food or drinks so I cannot comment on those. We were sat 15 minutes after our reservation time even though the table we ended up sitting at had been set the whole time. I would excuse that as trying to time out tables for the servers if we had been helped relatively quickly, but that never happened. We sat in the main rush of servers and literally no one stopped by our table in the 25 minutes we were sitting at the table. All 4 of us tried to get servers attention and all 4 of us were ignored. We got up and walked away after sitting there without even being offered water. I get that brunch is crazy but to not have a single person even stop by to tell us they would be with us shortly was insane. Overall horrible experience and would never go back when there are hundreds of delicious brunch places within 15 minutes of this place.
Overall disappointing experience.
Our food was sloppy, cold and flavorless. Service was horribly slow and inattentive. We asked for knives and were told there were none clean and then told our drinks were going to take awhile because there was no clean glasses. We asked for menu items that we never received then to top it off our bill was screwed up.
I understand things are crazy when the drag show is going on, but the restaurant wasn't even half way full. Just didn't seem like the place had it together.
The only plus of the experience was the drag show, Aurora Sexton slayed. Other than that, I would consider our brunch to be a flop.
The drag show was a fun surprise. Nothing I read warned me of their entertainment. I was pleased that the gentleman who seated us did mention the entertainment and asked if that was ok. I appreciated that warning which gave us the choice to stay or go. The food was delicious, especially the Nachos. They were the best ever!
I was disappointed in the whole experience - I had eaten there a few years ago in the evening with small bites and didn't have any issues, but this time, not good. I ordered the crab cake benedict. The poached eggs were hard boiled, and the crab cake was so tiny on the english muffin, and with no runny yolk, it was then just very dry. Service was pretty good. We only got to see one performance with 2 songs during our meal - not sure what the schedule is, but I think we assumed there were multiple performances during brunch. If I go back, maybe just get a cocktail on the patio.
A great place to have a fun brunch. The food is great and Asian inspired. The performers are friendly and do shows about every half hour for about 10 min. Lots of bachelorette parties go here, we saw 4 while we were there. Best to make reservations; check them out on Open Table. Have a fun time!
We had to pay $30 to park. There was a street festival in front that they did not advise of. The base and noise from the stage outside the front window was loud and disturbing and they sat us right by the door. There was only one performance for less than 5 minutes and she spent all of her time in the other room. It was filled with bachelorette parties so very loud. We just moved to Nashville and I would never dine at this place again. I have enjoyed myself at several drag shows but this was just lip singing and had no stage or audience participation. No comedy or anything unique. The only upside was the food and drinks which were average.
I made a reservation for my friends bachelorette and we arrived and we're seated at a lounge area. I asked if we could have the high top table set up because we were eating and they insisted it was someone else's table. After we were finished up it was almost 2:00pm and I realized that that table was our reservation because no one sat at it the whole time. I was very disappointed with the service and think that the issue should have been looked into a bit further than it was.
