Suzy Wong's House of Yum Ratings and Reviews
Food was good and came out as ordered but slightly overpriced. Everything should be 1-2 dollars cheaper OR more attention to detail should be paid.
Service was spot on and could not be better.
Entertainment was superb! Drag and dinner or drag and brunch are both highly recommended. Just good fun!
Remember to tip your queens!
I will start with Brooklyn Heights...She was absolutely amazing!! She really kept the energy high and the scenery beautiful. Nick was our server and made us feel as though we were regulars. He was kind, funny and adorable. The food was so tasty. Everything on our table was light, but enough to fill our bellies...The perfect balance. Suzy Wongs is Fabulous and I would definitely return over and over again.
As always, Suzy wongs delivered. We have been back over and over for the entertainment, and bring back someone new each visit. The menu is always evolving with new and exciting options! Hong Kong Millionaire is a favorite! Nick our server is always top notch and makes sure we are taken care of!!
Just was not impressed. The food was fine but not great. There were too many breaks in the entertainment which let the climate / enthusiasm drop between shows. The two rooms also kept you separated from the entertainment when it was going on. The entertainer did a good job of working through both rooms but was not an ideal setup. Overall experience was ok - glad we did it but don’t feel the need to do it again and would not likely recommend it to a friend.
We had the chance to visit the restaurant on the first night we visited Nashville. Unfortunately the weather was severe and no other patrons were in the restaurant during the entire time we were eating. Given this and the bad weather, we had a great time. The food was really good and different along with the drinks we had. I would definitely return if we would revisit Nashville.
We went to Drag'n Brunch for NYE and had so much fun! Vanity was fun, interactive and stayed and talked to our table for a while after her performances were over. It took a while to get our drinks/servers attention, but that was easy to forget with the fun performances going on. Food was great!
The food was delicious. The performance was good as well. The only negative was the waiter who served us. We had to continuously stop him for refills etc but he was readily available to take our plates once we took our last bite. He lacked the attentiveness to his cuatomers. I know we tipped him well even though his service was not up to par. I would revisit again and hope I'm not given the same server.
The food compared to several prior visits was very much below average. The atmosphere seemed darker than usual but maybe that was due to only 2 other tables being used. The four in our group each ordered different entree's and we had a few appetizers and none were of the caliber one should expect for a $100 plus dinner. There are to many excellent restaurants in the entire Nashville area to visit and this will not be one of them again in the future.
we ordered soup & edamame for appetizer. the soup never came (the waiter never said a word about it until asked and then said 'oh yeah, i asked but ...'). the edamame came after the main dishes were served. the garlic shrimp was cloyingly sweet - had to pick the shrimp out because i was starving. we asked if they had brown rice instead of white. they said yes, then put something on the table that had what we think were vegetables in it, didn't taste like brown rice then charged us extra. If you're going to charge folks for brown rice then tell them it's an up charge. felt that was really cheap of them to do..... never been charged for brown rice before. everything else was just ok.... not worth the price for sure. oh and my Passion Fruit Sangria - it was a glass of ice with a little pink juice - don't waste your money.
It was a Tuesday so it was pretty empty. We used a Groupon, which knocked the price down. They actually had a small menu of mock tails, which was what I needed and was VERY tasty. The sushi roll I had fulfilled the whole reason we went here, which was the fact that I wanted some sushi! It was very tasty. My date had the cheeseburger which was VERY flavorful and ALMOST too big to eat it all! Lol!
Suzy Wong's is such a fun brunch spot! There were numerous delectable food selections, including comfort food and Nashville specialities. My crab benedict was wonderful, although a bit on the heavy side. My friend loved the chicken and waffles. The entertainment is the highlight of the brunch. The drag queens perform every 15 minutes and are hilarious! Definitely a must-see for visitors and locals alike.
This place is fun and definitely a novelty for someone who hasn't seen a lot of drag queens. BUT, the Nashville food scene is so good I am disappointed to have wasted one meal here. The food is just alright. The real attraction is the drag show. Only go if you really like drag and don't care about food so much. Good service though.
We've been to Suzy Wong's before and always have a great experience. Everything was right on par this past visit. They were out of pork for the nachos, but substituted with chicken and it was still pretty good. Bonus! They were having a drag show the night we went.
I do realize that this was holloween how ever the service was poor and hap hazard. Total of 5 patrons . Bartender appeared to be new and didn’t know how to pour a double of patron. Took 12 mins to get a bottled beer. Got up a left and went to a different restaurant.
I have been a fan of SW for a long time. Until Sunday. 10/29/2017, my friends and I attended the drag brunch and honestly, it was very basic. I ordered the Fishbowl for 19.00 and although it looked impressive, there was very little alcohol in the mixture. I should have been feeling pretty good after that 19.00 drink but not even a buzz. The drag queen performed twice and it was more of a Jr High talent show gone wrong than a "drag show". Very basic and honestly, not very good. I had the Shrimp and grits which were on point however my friends had the chicken and waffles which should have been called "chicken aweful". There was no flavor other than the syrup that we poured over the dish and it was about as tasteless as the drag show itself.
over all, the drag brunch was pretty bad and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was overpriced and poorly done. I paid about the same amount for the Drag Brunch in Miami and it was worth every penny. Take a lesson Suzy Wongs and elevate your game. I suggest a flat rate which includes a show brunch and unlimited drinks. Another idea would be to simply have a drink special and a better selection of flavorful brunch items and a much better show.
Food was excellent. But, we made reservations because the place is hard to get into. We got seated in the very back (into the tribe area, outside of suzy wong’s). We felt like we couldn’t get the true experience and it really bummed us out. There was only one couple back there with us too..very quiet. 😕
