Suzette's Creperie Ratings and Reviews
I took my Great-Aunt to Suzette's Creperie for English Afternoon Tea. It was delightful and delicious. We enjoyed an unhurried lunch in this quaint, quiet setting for over two hours and were not rushed. It was our choice to linger, the Tea was delectable and the room reminded us of a Victorian parlor.
I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or making a reservation for Afternoon Tea. We can't wait to go back.
Really super disappointing have been wanting to have brunch here for two years. Saved a table for my son and I and when we got there there was NO ONE at the hostess stand. NO one at the counter. Now mind you we did see the hostess and servers and they saw us as they were running around in the back. No one even bothered to acknowledge us. No one. How rude. The dining room was empty so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We got there at the end of brunch at 1:30. Then a diner had to.come from the dining room to pay and had no time left to have dessert because they had been ignored for so long by their server. Never will I ever go here again or recommend. What a joke. And how rude. If I could give zero stars I would.
We go to Suzette's expressly to listen to Judy Roberts and Greg Fishman. The food, service, etc., are always superior. I had the pork tenderloin and my wife had the spinach quiche. Both were inventive, seasoned to perfection, and absolutely delicious. And Judy and Greg provide grown-up entertainment. Thanks, Suzette's, for a wonderful evening--again!
Our server was a young woman who knew very little about being a good server at a fine dining establishment and knew even less about the menu. She poorly described the escargot special and it ended up being nothing like any escargot I've ever had; but for the worse. The restaurant was fairly full, yet it appeared there were only 2 servers. The food, overall, was only fair. The best thing about our entire evening was the wonderful piano player and decor. Unfortunately, neither of which was the main reason we picked the restaurant originally. Maybe it was just a "bad night", but we probably won't be back.
Suzette’s is well known among the Wheaton gentry. My daughter and I have regular traditions to go to the Mothers Day brunch and the Christmas tea. This year I added in Bastille Day and my friend’s birthday. It’s intimate place with small bistro qualities. Live piano music makes it special.
Initial impression was excellent with a great appetizer and drinks. Waited 15 minutes after appetizer for salad. Waitress forgot the salad and brought it with main dish. Both "meat" dishes were over-cooked- no flavor. Vegetables and potato fries were soggy. Ordered coffee and dessert. They forgot to bring our coffee with dessert. waited another 10 minutes for coffee Waitress was not qualified to serve in this restaurant. Needs training. Our dining experience was not worth the $200 tab.
Recommendation: Do not order any meat dishes at dinner. Stick to crepes and tea.
Good food selections as usual. French wines are reasonable. Live music is outstanding on Saturdays in the summer. Service is friendly and competent, but sparse. Sometimes had to ask for things that should come automatically. No one asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Still overall enjoyable.
This was our first visit and we were so pleasantly surprised at everything. You walk through the bakery which is enough to make you hungary. The dining room is comfortable but elegant and romantic. The food was quite good and the service exceptional. We will return
We sat on the patio, which was very charming, so we could listen to the wonderful music. The weather cooperated, so it was very enjoyable. We all really liked our entrée's. One had the Sole, one the Pork Tenderloin, another, Beef Bourgonion Crepe, and I had French Onion Soup with Orange Salad! There is a price point for pretty much anyone. I really appreciated that aspect!
We had no room for dessert, but it all looked and sounded amazing!
We will go back as often as we can!
Sole meunière was the best fish I have eaten since Paris in 2002. Very nice vegetable combination and delicious mashed potatoes blended well with the fish. Excellent Pouilly Fuisse attentively poured by the bartender who was standing in for the sommelier. We shared a vegetable tempura with mango sauce as an appetizer and a very nice lemon curd crepe with raspberries for dessert. Attentive, friendly service throughout the meal by Frankie.
A wonderful "find"!
Suzette's had been on our list of places to try for at least a year. My post-run craving for quiche on Saturday drove us there - finally!!
We fell in love with the place immediately.
The service team could use some refining but we were in such a good, relaxed mood the snarkiness and lack of attention or graciousness of our server was more humorous than anything. However, I would have been embarrassed had we been there with out of town guests or on business.
That aside - the food was amazing, the restaurant is beautifully adorable, the bakery case was full of delicious looking treats, and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd want for a weekend brunch. We can't wait to go back (often) and wish we'd been by sooner!!
A wonderful piece of Paris in downtown Wheaton .Truly delicious continental cuisine... European/French trained chefs. Excellent pastry chef ( Brittany).. We buy a baguette almost daily!!. Weekend entertainment...Vocals, jazz trios and Can-can dancers(yes...Really) for Bastille Day.... Beaujolais Day c.Nov.15 almost a must do!!! Easy walk to Metra station...Easy access for Chicagoans to visit the 'burbs...
Great little restaurant. Menu is very French, but certainly has plenty to satisfy anyone. We sat outside -- the patio is small and not fancy, but very pleasant. Parking garage right across the street. Prices are reasonable, although one is tempted to spend too much because of the great number of tempting choices. Wine list is all French and very nice, but not over the top price-wise. I live 45 minutes away, but will definitely be back there again!
Table service was pleasant and polite, we told our servers that we were not in a hurry so they were not pushy about turning the table over. But overall not very efficient staff, had to ask three times for a wine bucket. The food was good but for the price presentations should have been better, not a lot of thought to make the plate look nice. The dress code is casual which we like, but the staff need to pay more attention to there dress especially the bartender. Would go back but for lunch not dinner.
I have been to Suzette's probably about a dozen times and had several dishes there, the food is always fantastic. Really there is not a bad item on the menu. The ambiance is fantastic, and they had live music on Saturday night, which was nice, sometimes music can be a little too loud, but they were not, they were just right. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that despite a reservation made on Open Table and plenty of tables available, we stood and waited to be seated for almost 20 minutes! There were no other parties that were waiting with us, just us and no one else coming in, so we just literally stood there and talked and after about 10 minutes I said, wow this seems to be getting long, little did I know we had a solid 10 more minutes to wait. They have a clock right in where you wait and I watched it go from 7:24 to 7:45 before we were seated. We did have 3 different employees come up to us and tell us just a few minutes, but really a table does not take that long to clear and set, and there were several employees who appeared to have the time to help out - but not sure what the hold up was.
This was great; usually I have to reserve 3-4 hours in advance. Having a 30 + minute wait at another local eatery, I checked Open Table, reservation in 30 minutes but seated way before. Many people wanted to eat outdoors for music or Car Show, but I was satisfied with my comfy chair seating. My husband and I like certain things, often sharing an appetizer and a dessert while getting our own entrees or salad
