Suzette's Creperie Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I love this special romantic place. Great ambiance. Small and cozy. Perfect for a special occasion. They always put their heart and soul into their food. The French fare is delicious . The menus is well put together. A very special wine list that is extensive with lots of choices. The deserts will keep you coming back.
It reminds me of some of the bistros I visited in France .
It was a great lunch. The Broccoli Quiche and Chicken Salad were wonderful.
The warm Apple Crepe was perfect for dessert and made us wish we had ordered it first.
The table off to the side of the dining room was quiet and made for a wonderful time.
We will be back.
My friend was looking for a restaurant she hadn't eaten at before, so we picked Suzette's. The last time I was there was years ago and it was quite small. I love the addition. we both ate the Chicken Crepes and they were very tasty. The desserts were creme brulee and apple pie and both were delicious. Prices were a little higher , but this was for a special occasion so didn't mind paying the extra. Our waitress also had a great sense of humor.
Always a delightful experience. This French restaurant is a gem. It’s intimate environment is the perfect place for a date night or group dinner because you do not have to fight the noise.
Live music I’m in the weekends is fabulous and adds to the great experience.
We love the food and highly recommend the French onion soup, chicken crepe, beef crepe and the dessert crepes which are the very best part no matter how full you are. The bananas foster crepe is the best I’ve ever had. What a great dinner place. One of our very favorites!
Our favorite restaurant in all of Chicago! We love all of their dishes--we nearly always start with the pate (so large that we share it) and we both happened to choose the duck confit this time. I do also love the salmon. Desserts are not to be missed. We shared the Nutella banaa crepe. Outstanding! Grabbed a couple of croissants from the bakery on the way home for breakfast!
Never have had a bad meal or a bad wine recommendation here. Service is always perfect, but not over imposing. Had best crap cake ever and a bakes sole with vegetables that was among the best fish I've every had. The Apple pie was also among the best. Crepes are great, but passed on them this time. Mussels appetizer with extra bread for the sauce with a glass of wine is a cheap eat and filling, for two of us; maybe add a salad.
We let the server know that we needed to be in and out in an hour so that we could make the symphony at 7:30. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Mussels were delicious in a mild curry sauce and warm asparagus salad. Bread was great. Nice touch with a piano player. Love this place!
We went for an afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter's Bday with my mother and it was wonderful. The tea was delicious and the scones were also. We loved the crepes. It was a leisurely meal without rushing. I do wish it was more like a classic High Tea with an assortment of mini-desserts in a tiered tray but the dessert options were excellent and it is the best tea option I have found in the suburbs.
Almost walked out! I had high expectations for Christmas tea with my husband at Suzette's. We arrived 10 minutes early and was promptly escorted to a table for two set up for the tea. Unfortunately, we had to wait THIRTY MINUTES for anyone to acknowledge us. The staff appeared to be very disorganized. The table next to us also didn't have a server or anyone take their tea order for about the same amount of time. When they flagged down a server, they were told to wait. If I'm paying $35 per person for some tea, a handful of little appetizers, two small scones, and some little desserts, I expect good service. And the service was severely lacking. Thankfully, once the Christmas tea got into full swing, more staff appeared to pour tea and serve the appetizers. However, after the scone portion was served, the staff appeared to vanish again! A server took our credit card and vanished for about 15 minutes. Our credit card was gone so long that my husband is currently debating whether to cancel the card. The server who took our credit card took about four tables' bills at the same time... then we saw her five minutes later walking around and picking up plates. Where was our credit card during this entire time? When we walked out, we saw her chatting with someone behind the counter. Maybe that's what she was doing??? Still a mystery.
This is the 2nd year my sister and I attended Christmas Tea; we brought along a friend who had never been to Suzette's. We all thoroughly enjoyed how beautiful everything was decorated for the holidays. We also enjoyed the food and tea, although we wish we could have had a few more of some of the "sandwiches" and "scones" offered. The service was excellent. Although it was a bit costly, it was worth it.
Not all of the menu items were available. However, everyone in my party was able to find something off the menu. We were not rushed. We had a leisurely two hour luncheon. We were only asked to lead around 2:00 PM, because our table was reserved for the 2:30 Christmas Tea.
We really enjoyed the whole night with our friends . The atmosphere was lovely ,service attentive and the food excellent. We had a range of meals, from crepes ,duck to sole. Everyone was happy with their choice. They have an excellent French wine list ,that will compliment any entree.
We attended for Christmas tea and were seated near a door and window outside the main room. We could not fully enjoy the decorations and music which was a disappointment. We also felt our service was much less than what people in the main room received. The food was delicious, but we had to keep asking for tea refills and hotter tea. Since we were seated near that back door and window, it was quite chilly. Because we were ignored, I feel it was not worth the cost.
