SUSHISAMBA Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
I like this restaurant and have visited it for years, every time I am in mia. So I gave it 4* remembering positive experiences from the past. However this time it was not as good as usual, both for service and for food. They should start from replacing the menu. The book seems filthy. The table was sticky. We ate quickly and left. It was not our typical pleasant experience with sushi samba.
What a shame to see how the quality of service has declined! This is a place we visit a few times a year on our Miami getaways. It has always been fun, casual and still incentive and creative in terms of food. This week, while the food was still good, our meal took almost 3 hours. The server claimed there were problems in the kitchen. Then as she would finally bring the appetizers, she would tell us they "ran out" of other things we ordered. We didn't get our entrees for almost two hours. Really frustrating. We will go back again, but if this is the new normal there, they'll lose us for good.
Amazing food and amazing service from Nicola! Every dish he recommended was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the dumplings and the lobster roll. Even the special dipping sauce for the edamame was out of this world. I can't wait to come back here again. Thank you Nicola!
We had a group of 10, and for groups larger than 8 we had to call. So I called and they said that they only would be able to put us inside. When we arrived we had a great outside table. The server was VERY knowledgable and described everything in great detail, helped guide our desired experience.
Well, that's a first for me in thirty years: our waitress was so rude that I didn't leave a tip. I made a point to sign my check in front of the manager, and two hours later they cancel my OpenTable reservation and forfeit the points. Not that I care, but it's a reflection of their inability to cope with (rightful) criticism. Petty and childish. You have all been warned.
We dined here for my engagement celebration and had contacted the restaurant a month in advance of our booking. Unfortunately we were not given the table we had requested, and the food was below-par (a number of dishes were sent back for being cold).
The staff on the floor, however, were excellent. Despite the restaurant being very busy, they were always on hand to help.
Touristy spot, great atmosphere, food is consistently good as well. Normally the service is good too, but our waiter was extremely rude this time. My friend had a question about a dish and asked him what his favorite roll was, to which he rolled his eyes and was super reluctant to answer. We also felt very rushed by him, totally killed our good vibe we had going.
we had a reservation and our table went forgotten, we had to wait over 30 minutes. we asked few times regarding our table, and they told us that they had to check. after seeing that other pleople received a table, we left. not really appropriate welcome and service! never again!
Drinks were brought to us tasting insipid and it was consecutively tasting the same. We had to send drinks back 3 times. My partner received her food then 20 minutes later I received mine. The set up of the table felt undone. I was missing my napkin and chop sticks. The taste of the food was not as I expected it to be. The price is not worth the quality of food or service. The only good part was at the end when a gentlemen in a suit tried providing solutions. Customer service quality starts from the beginning till the end. I do not expect to bring going back to the restaurant. To top it off I brought my partner here in Valentine's Day thinking it would be a great experience but it turned out to be otherwise. Not the best timing to be giving such service.
After being sat by the host we had to ask for water while waiting 15 minutes... we then placed an order for wine. No one could fine what we ordered, yet no one communicated that either.... we finally placed our food order in hopes that the wine would arrive soon. The first course arrived...still no wine in sight...I sent the food back.
We asked the server and she replied that she is very sorry but they cant find the bottle we requested. I asked for an alternative. Finally the manager arrived with another bottle giving us a poor story and offered us the alternate choice at a higher price point....what a cheap upsell.
The food was spectacular and that is the memory we will have.
