SushiSamba in Coral Gables serves a fusion of Brazilian, Japanese and Peruvian cuisines. The restaurant's interior also fuses elements from these three different cultures in its design. The dining area is spacious and modern, featuring an open kitchen with a large stone bar, bight pops of color and unique lighting on the ceiling. SushiSamba also offers outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
Begin the meal by choosing from an array of fresh sushi options or an appetizer like crispy taquitos, edamame or tuna tataki. For the main course, try a variety of hibachi items or choose from a wide range of skewers including seabass, ribeye and black cod. SushiSamba also offers an extensive selection of sake, beer and wine for guests to enjoy.
Best Sushi in Coral Gables! It's my favorite and I was sad to find out they will be closing this location. Tacqitos are the best with the most amazing spicy sauce. Viva Samba Roll was so fresh we ordered a 2nd. Service is exceptional and the manager always on hand. I will really miss this restaurant. Head over quick and enjoy.
The food was light but delicious, it was a very quiet Monday night, the server was excellent: friendly and very knowledgeable. Sad this location will be closing soon but I look forward to visiting other locations.
Wish they still had their former full menu. Saw a couple walk out, as the menu did not have the items they came for
Food was delicious-Xavier the manager was helpful and friendly.
Booked a reservation on open table for Sunday night. When I showed up at the restaurant, my date and I found out the place was closed every Sunday. It makes no sense to use this website if they don't even advertise the right opening times and days. I am going to stick with calling the restaurant directly next time. Thanks!
I booked a reservation for a Sunday night and I got no forewarning that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. I got a confirmation email with my reservation, yet when I arrived there was no one there.
Unbeknownst to us, the restaurant is in the 'wind down' phase at this location, since they are moving at the end of the month, so many aspects which would be customary (more robust specials, coffee!!, # of serving staff) were missing, so the evening was not as good as it should have been.
The people were very pleasant, the food was highly flavorful, and while it took way too long - the overall ambiance and company minimized the negative effect. Had previously dined at one on Lincoln Road, so not prepared to indict nor impugn the restaurant, and would give it another chance at the new locale.
Close to the end? More staff than customers despite reduced number of staff and reduced menu options since my last visit. Food was good and staff very attentive (perhaps overly so) but no atmosphere and perhaps no future.
About to close location, so menu is 1/3 the size it used to be. No one asked if we wanted another drink though we were only one of 3 tables. I won't go to new location after this experience.
Horrible never going again
They have eliminated about half the menu and the choices are very limited. Wine list is almost non existent... They're out of 80% of the wines.
Our server was exceptional.
It was a rather disappointing dining experience as most of the things we wanted to order they didn't have.
Great food. Taquitos were awesome!
My boyfriend loves asian food and we'd already tried everything in FTL so I found this unusual place that fused brazilian and asian flavors into so many items. Everything was delicious that I had and my bf loved it as well. Since it was his birthday, the staff came out with a treat for him. They made us feel very welcome and special!
Incredible place - add it to the list if you have not been.
Big rush on the way to the airport. They rushed our orders to go. Food was excellent. Great service. Tks
Varied menu. Good service. I was there for lunch. Enjoyed the experience.
Starting with drinks that were hand crafted with quality ingredients and creative. Generous portion of a well mixed Caipirinha was wonderful. Each dish was excellently prepared and presented. The knowledgeable waiter made great recommendations. The out door seating was pleasant, not smokey, calm and clean. The sashimi was the best!
Good food, but the south beach restaurant has much better atmosphere.
I enjoyed their lunch more than their dinner. The Sushi was not good.
First off, I booked an early table because of a 1000 pts offer. We arrived on time and the restaurant was empty. We checked in, told them we had a reservation, watched them check their computer.... And they still reported us as a "no show." Luckily, I had paid with a credit card, so was able to prove to Open Table that we went. After spending $175 at the restaurant, I felt that was rather uncool.
Which brings me to my second point. The food is good, but not for the price you pay. You can get equally good sushi at Milam's and for that kind of money... well, let's just say I expect to be wow'd.
Also, although, as I mentioned, the restaurant was almost empty -- there were more waiters than tables with customers -- it was still hard to get anyone's attention. The staff was running around like mad, but disorganized even by Miami standards.
Used to be very nice place with good food and service but now it's terrible
Loved this place! It serves a combination of Peruvian, Brazilian and Japanese food, I have been to all 3 countries and know that they are on target with the authentic flavors demonstrated in each cuisine through their menu. Could not order everything, but settled on the Sao Paulo roll with truffle oil. It is a combination of tuna, salmon, scallop and white fish, an explosion of taste with every bite. Very well done! Next was the Sea Bass anticucho, this was soft, juicy, flavorful, exceptionally cooked and served. Our main course was the Brazilian Moqueca! Like Spanish Paella, BUT Brazilian style. Cooked with dende oil and coconut oil, lot's of seafood around a mound of very flavorful rice. Dessert is a must here too! The Samba split is a concoction of dulce de leche ice cream, caramel-salted popcorn bits, caramelized bananas and berries, just wished there would have been more of it as I was sharing!!! Must also congratulate these folks on the service provided, our waiter was knowledgeable, had great recommendations and was very attentive without overdoing it!!!
Try the Chucumber
Just still perfect! Gables roll and Tacitos are favorites. Chris was a great server and bartender. I just keep going back, it's expensive and worth it.
Great vegan menu
This is my third or fourth time here and it never disappoints. The food is excellent. We ordered a variety and shared and it was all delicious. I highly recommend the lamb and sea bass robata (skewers). Also the tuna tacos appetizer melts in your mouth! Order away and share. You can't go wrong here!
It was my 2nd time at SUSHISAMBA in Coral Gables and I am very pleased to report that the food, service and overall experience was very good and I truly enjoyed every bit! I will definitely go again - amazing dishes, offering lots of tastes and combinations. YUM!
Good mix of different cuisines and everything we tried was delicious. A little pricey but the quality is a step up from the chain sushi places nearby. They also have a GF menu and staff is familiar with how to prepare food to accommodate.
Outside dinning allows smoking so beware of selecting outside. Overall good but pricey.
I ate dinner at this Coral Gables restaurant for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the fusion food. The chefs behind the sushi counter were especially friendly and often asked how I was liking the dinner.
I do have a complaint regarding the service. My server, Crystal, continually came by from the moment I sat down until the end of the meal attempting to upsell me more food, more drinks and dessert of course. I'm a grown up and have eaten in restaurants all my life. I know how to read the menu and will ask for what I wish to order. Beyond that, upselling me is a huge turn-off and this server was over the top doing this.
Undoubtedly, she was trained to do this which I can understand. So, the restaurant needs to back off and let customers eat their meal in peace without constant interruptions asking of I want another piece of sushi or maybe a Robata dish. Just moments after being seated and given the large Menu, the server asks if I would like any suggestions. I politely said no thanks. And on it went through the whole dinner. Very irritating.
As a party of 8, we chose to have the chef choose our meal. Everything was delicious! We actually had to stop before the end because we were so full of good food. The miso sea bass was outstanding, as was the sashimi tiradito sampler. And the taquitos--that sriracha dressing was amazing! Too many other good things to mention, but go, and try the cocktail (or sake) tower as well!
It took one hour to receive the appetizers. One hour!!! Mine was burnt. Then when the entrees came, they tasted different even though they were the same dish. I was extremely disappointed.
The food was ALL GOOD!
Really awesome experience as usual. Service was perfect and meal was perfection. I am so blessed to have great neighborhood restaurants so close to me.
Great option for shush I. Very limited options for "non sushi" lovers, maybe that can be improved. Very limited beer menu.
We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was not very busy. Very understaffed though. We waited 30 minutes to receive our drinks. The sushi was decent but expensive. Would not go back because of the service
Delicious food, but very expensive for what is give in such small portions.
Nice service and ambience. Food was average. Nothing extraordinary
