Sushi Zushi - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Our server, Flavio (that isn’t his name but was similar- cannot find the receipt) was exquisite, I’d hire him in a minute! Ambiance was gorgeous, central location was perfect, loved the pet friendly patio, sofas and tables out doors wonderful. A word of advice; candles and simple, single stem flower, or other plant life feature is attractive of prosperity, in addition to the enhancement to pleasurable experience of your guests, adding to memories we like to talk about with friends, colleagues and certain family members who’d make a reservation simply based on that word of mouth.
I felt lonely out doors having my cigarette without the candle light.
I have decided to select Sushi Zushi based on reviews. I was no disappointed. The service was great, the food was fresh and excellent. Try some of their cocktail as they also taste very good.
I would recommend it and I would come back on my next visit to Dallas.
Sushi Zuchi has quickly moved to my short-list for consistent quality food in a modish yet comfortable setting (aka Friday night dinner). My wife and I always order the veggie tempura (a variety of vegetables, battered and fried) which is big enough to share without spoiling the appetite. We also order two sushi rolls - three if we're very hungry. The menu is extensive so every sushi lover should find what their looking for. I can't remember all the rolls I've had but the Oakland is for sure of of my favorites! Also drinks are strong and affordable : )
We have always like Sushi Zushi, but feel like since the move a few years ago to their present location has affected the overall dining experience. This location feels very much like a cafeteria. The noise level is moderate. If you like to sit outside it's great until someone parks right next to your table and leaves the car running for 10 minutes.
The sushi is not as cold or as fresh in my opinion. I have had much better for similar prices. If we are in the area we will eat their again but it is not a place I would go out of my way for or wait a long time to get in.
I made 2 visits here in 2 weeks and the experience was the same. Very good and fresh sushi with tons of menu choices. The service was a bummer and was slow. We ended up sitting around with no food or drinks halfway through our dinner. The lighting is way too bright for a Saturday night and recommend they dim the lights to create a better ambiance.
We made a reservation for a Wednesday night. Wasn't busy at all. Not sure if they were short staffed but there were two or three dirty empty tables by outs that never got cleaned away the whole time we were there. For not being very busy it sure took awhile for our food to come out. Overall the food was good. Nice variety of sushi rolls.
Sushi Zushi is located in the heart of West Village at the end of Uptown. You have plenty of sushi options in this city, but this is one that I categorize in that middle tier of quality where you aren't trying to absolutely break bank like you would be if you're going to the likes of Uchi.
Truly splitting hairs between here, Blue Fish, Katana, and Sushi Axiom, so I generally give the nod to location-location-location, which Sushi Zushi is unbeatable given it's proximity to a very walkable area for people watching and going out.
Glow: Great people watching, outdoor seating, solid sushi.
Room for Improvement: The menu is gigantic, I tend to error on the side of if you have 200 things on your menu, then you have nothing...I would say scale it down and know where your strengths are, there are just too many options for an uninformed sushi-goer and a wait staff that is more or less not adept at pointing you in the right direction consistently.
Overall I would give this restaurant at three out of five. Inside the restaurant was cozy and warm but the noise level was high. The food was more traditional sushi, but there were a lot of options that were nontraditional, including cream cheese which I do not consider traditional. We tried the sake flights which were interesting, but they were not included on the standard sake menu as far as I could tell. The service was excellent and the servers were proficient and we repeatedly were asked if we needed anything else which is always nice, when you go to a restaurant with a progressive menu. It's a great any night restaurant to go and hang out and get some decent to sushi.
