Sushi Zushi of Southlake Ratings and Reviews
Even though we made our reservation for 7:45 we had to wait to not only be seated, but at least 20 minutes longer than usual to be served due to their kitchen putting to-go orders as a priority over those who came to their establishment. That, in particular, puts a bad taste in your mouth due to the fact that you’re being told to your face that your presence is not valued.
Not only that, there was a couple who expressed upset for having to wait an exceedingly long amount of time to be served due to the restaurant putting more value in their to-go orders. When they expressed their upset the manager argued with them and then was rather rude to them in front of the rest of the restaurant. After this couple left another patron expressed LOUDLY that she agreed with the restaurant and this manager VERY loudly agreed with the guest and proceeded to legitimately bash this couple for everyone else in the establishment to hear.
The food was mediocre at best, our waiter was confused by everything we said and did a horrible job communicating with us and instead of acknowledging our questions he would just say an answer that only made minimal sense. The wait for food was farcical and the manager was rude, unprofessional, and ridiculous. I’ve worked in the food industry for years and not once, not EVER have I seen, experienced, or thought the way this was handled was acceptable. We will not be going back. I recommend to go elsewhere so that you are able to eat at a decent time and have pleasant service.
Cons: Food and drinks took forever! Our dinner was delivered before the appetizers...and our bar drinks showed up half way through the meal.
Pros: The server was kind and attentive and the manager comped our apps due to the delay. Extensive menu.
Unfortunately nothing special about the visit, so we won't be back.
Waitress was clueless and did not have a pleasant personality to make up for it. Large sake menu but they did not have any of the three we ordered. They recommended one which was good but they didn't even have the amount we had ordered of the one they recommended. The guy handling the sake was very good and knowledgeable and comped the sake which was nice, but not what we were looking for. Food was pretty good.
Great experience, great food, great service! Imagen, our waitress, was phenomenal! She explained everything really well and creatively! Word of warning...spicy ratings shouldn't be taken lightly! We had some in our group who love and tolerate really spicy foods and almost couldn't eat the rolls identified as 3/3 peppers and the 1/3 peppers were extremely mild. We would definitely go back!
Cucumber martini was amazing. The service was a little slow but it was also Valentines Day weekend so we weren't in a hurry. Oakland roll was phenomenal and the price was very reasonable. 4 drinks and four rolls and our dinner was only $70. I will definitely have another date night here!
Sushi Zushi has always served a great, fresh, tasty meal. It's easy to find a number of sushi restaurants in the area, but Zushi has always, consistently served generously, creatively and the fish is always super fresh. I brought my New Yorker friends here for dinner and they have high sushi standards....they loved it and raved about it.
We have dined at this location many time. This visit was sooo not what we are use to expecting. Our waitress Rebecca I I think was her name. Very sweet girl but not a seasoned waitress. Our apps were not served at the same time so by the time the goyza came my miso was like warm.
We have never ordered rolls and had the entire order on one plate. I had to ask for the wasabi sauce that goes with the oak lawn roll. Couldn't have plated it properly with the Godzilla roll laying right next to it.
Maybe new kitchen staff. I don't know but training needs to be hit upon and brushed up.
This was our second visit to Sushi Zushi and we were looking forward to it since our first visit was so awesome. It was Fathers Day, raining and not too busy. Our server was nice enough, but not very attentive at all. We had to wait awhile for everything from our soup to our check. The food was just as awesome as the first time, but our experience was lackluster since the service was so missing the same attentiveness and promptness as the first visit. We will come again and hope we get better service.
Overall, good although the same sushi order or drink came out in different variations and was not consistent. ex: Spider roll was great the first time but missing part and tiny on the second order but the server said that nothing could be done about it. ex: pomegranate de-lite was great the first time but not as good on the refill.
We had dinner at Sushi Zushi this weekend and it was delicious! We made reservations and were seated right away. We ordered a few drinks, the vegetable gyoza, the spider roll, cosimo roll, and the bora bora roll. All were so yummy! The service was great as well! I highly recommend Sushi Zushi in Southlake!
We were so glad to fine this great restaurant while staying at a hotel near DFW North. The menu creative of both traditional sushi and lots of rolls to choose from. The portions are generous the pricing a very good value and the service was wonderful. What more can you ask for? I look forward to my next trip to Dallas and eating here again.
The food and atmosphere are excellent, but as many Yelp users has pointed out the service is slow and you will be neglected for long periods of time. Great for a low key evening with nowhere to be and have some sushi, but otherwise I'd recommend staying away.
My wife and I spent New Year's Eve at the sushi bar here. Food was fresh and well prepared. The server, manager and head chef were eager to serve our requests. Nice atmosphere. Good food with large variety of what I call Americanized sushi. We tried a couple of offerings along with some traditional sashimi and sushi. All was very good and visually appealing.
Everyone was very friendly. We will be back.
Disappointed. Had to ask twice to get our beer glass and tea cup.
During our previous visit the waitress was not very knowledgeable with the Menu. She had to ask for details.
We had a late dinner by 9:30pm on a Saturday night after Christmas and the restaurant was very quiet.
