Met up with some old friends - kind of a reunion. Staff at the restaurant were very accommodating as we were slow and loud(!) and asked them to take photos! Lovely. Highly recommended for a casual, yummy meal...
Food quality you would expect at a much more expensive place. Service is solid but not great. Overall, great place
very fresh authentic food--always a lot of Japanese people there eating....that should tell you something. Great value--excellent.
Sushi Deluxe is one of the best buy set menu in the NY.
Fried Oyster was so tiny, it was a little disappointment.
Softshell club roll was one of the best I have ever eaten.
Most delicious sushi ever! Throughly enjoyed!
Excellent food. Accommodating for our baby as well!
Maybe I ordered wrong, but I found the food to be average sushi; not the normal excellent quality from there
Consistently great experience. Fresh sashimi, good service and delicious. Wish it was easier to get reservations bt glad when I do
This was my first time having sushi in NYC, and it was amazing. I've had good sushi in Japan, and I believe this is comparable. Next time I'm in NYC I will be back.
We had to wait about 10min even though we were on time for our reservation. There was a crowd at the entrance also waiting for their reserved tables to get ready. The staff at the entrance was not very pleasant. The restaurant looks very nice from the entrance, but there was a bit of a fishy smell right away (understandable because of the food it serves, but the smell was more vivid than I’ve experienced in other sushi restaurants. However once we were seated, our servers were extremely friendly. Food was served quickly and it was DELICIOUS. Would definitely recommend, but hope that they can improve the experience at the entrance!!
The food & atmosphere were awesome! I had the shrimp & avocado salad and salmon sushi - so delicious! My daughter had the special miso soup and shrimp tempura and salmon rolls. The food was super fresh & service and so attentive. Would definitely go back. Restaurant is a short walk from the Beacon Theatre.
Rushed out the door for the second time in
Excellent sushi, but the restaurant is very cramped, very noisy, and the service is spotty.
2x in a week - reliable and very good!
I love this unassuming little restaurant. The fish is always so fresh and delicious, the service is quick and attentive, and the prices are extremely reasonable.
Great lunch, great sushi. A little disappointed that they were out of the wine on their menu, however the overall experience was very good as it always is. Had the 3 roll lunch special with soup.
The food was absolutely exquisite and the service was amazing. Didn’t wait too long for the food to come out either!
One of the best and freshest sushi in the city. Wait time is challenging even with a reservation, highly recommended and arrive on time.
The sushi is above average, but don't go here looking for much more than a good, quick meal. We were in and out in 45 minutes. Price is a bit steep for this kind of dining experience.
Incredibly fresh fish. Solid service
The lunch box is really good. I highly recommend it
A hidden neighborhood gem with excellent service and high quality sashimi.
The food is just a cut above all the other local japanese restaurants.
Had chef's omakase, which was extraordinary! Everything was fresh and super delicious. Will definitely go back again.
Too crowded, even at lunch on a weekday. I ordered the lunch special chirashi and felt cheated. Two large pieces of tamago (egg omlette) and lots of roe and a limp cooked shrimp were among the 14 pieces. Meh. I wanted fish and fish and nothing but. I should have ordered the sashimi platter instead. And I got white rice, which I cannot eat. Brown wasn't offered. Other fish pieces were fine. Service was fast. But it's sooooo noisy in the restaurant. And if you walk in without a reservation, the wait would be intolerable. Thankfully, I did think ahead and made an OpenTable res.
The sushi and rolls are always fresh and delicious. The lunch menu offers very good deals.
i’m almost hesitant to recommend because it’s literally the best sushi to be had in NYC.
great place to eat before going to the beacon for a show. reservation a must, always busy. sushi is delicious
Solid lunch spot for prix fixe bargains. Lunch salmon teriyaki, salad, s’humanise, tuna roll, spring roll. All delicious, all fresh.
The food, service, ambience were all fantastic as usual.
Excellent food and service. Definitely a winner.
Consistently good sushi etc. and great service. We had to get in and out quickly and our waitresss was tremendous.
Food and service were excellent. Table directly next to host stand was uncomfortable due to all the constant staff traffic.
Fantastic sushi - the fish is exceptionally fresh, and Yasaka puts out one of the best value meals I've had in NYC.
At 7 PM on a busy Friday night, we scored a table and enjoyed first rate Japanese dishes at fair (not inexpensive) prices. Particularly delicious was the seaweed salad appetizer, and the sashimi deluxe plattar.. Lobster roll also got good reviews. Highly recommended.
The fish was truly mediocre. Some pieces of salmon sashimi tasted “off”; the fatty tuna disgusting; don’t even on the spicy tuna roll (horrible). The table of 4 behind us were ear-bleeding loud. Quietly asked manager if he could tell the folks to just lower the decibels a little but the manager mumbled something at me, shrugged and turned away. Used to be a regular but there are so many more special sushi restaurants where the food is first rate, the noise level bearable, and management responsive- why settle for crappy food and staff?
Great food, very authentic, energetic ambiance! This is one of my favorite sushi places in the city and a fair offering for the price.
I always enjoy dining here with my friends. Food is always delicious! However, this place was very crowded during weekends and with less staff, we had to ask for our waitress a few times to get one thing.
