Good food great service
Went for happy hour with a friend as this is our go to spot. The food was spot on as usual, from the rolls to sashimi but the service was horrible. Took forever just to get our food and when we did they did get everything correct so we ended up waiting longer for them to fix the order. Also, our server seemed to be more distracted chatting at lengths with other patrons which delayed us getting our check and paying.
It took a long time to receive food. Waiter said something was wrong with system so order didn’t get put in.
Delicious sushi. I haven't had good sushi in years; Sushi Tango reminded me what I've been missing. We ordered from the lower price side of the sushi menu. With two bowls of miso soup, an appetizer of roasted baby bok choy, three maki, and three orders of nigiri, we spent $51 plus a tip. The yellowtail nigiri was the star of the meal. I might order it sashimi style next time. Today was my companion's birthday, so the restaurant gave them a fried ice cream with a very exciting candle. My only complaint was that the music was a little too loud, given that we wanted to talk during dinner. Overall, an enjoyable birthday dinner.
It was really warm in there but the food was excellent and our server was wonderful.
Horrible and slow service. Never have I sent food back before and still was charged for it. How do you burn tempura in sushi? They did and when we sent it back they still charged us for half of it. Took forever to get the food and all we ordered was sushi. Had to ask for our check 3 times. Will never go back!
Great place and great service. Not too busy. Strong drinks.
I was a Loyal Tango fam for many years before I moved to California 5 years ago. I was horribly disappointed in the quality of the sushi on a recent visit home. Other door was good but sushi quite bad. Sad to report this and hop it was an isolated incident.
It was a great experience. Can't forget to mention, this was the day Vikings Won!! Best time ever!
Staff was very kind and helpful. Food was great! Will definitely come back!
I went to Sushi Tango with friends and it was a lot of fun! Two out of the four of us didn't want sushi and this restaurant had other options for those not wanting sushi. I had the Thai Tuna and the Vegas rolls and they were both very delicious! There were a variety of sushi dishes to try and I would like to go back and explore more!
My waitress was on her A game the night my fiancé and I took our friends out for dinner. Everything I asked for she got immediately and she was so sweet and polite. She did tell me her name but the Jameson & gingers the bartender made cloudy my memory if you know what I mean. I've loved sushi tango since day one and I'll forever keep entertaining friends and family there.
The service was rather slow though they seemed fully staffed. A bit too much sauce on the sushi.
The food was great. Sushi/sashimi was fresh and tasty.
The service was slow - as though the server forgot as soon as she walked away. The sushi chefs also seemed to move very slow and not work together to get plates done. We were a table of 7 adults and there was a notable delay in food delivery, especially when second orders of sushi dishes were requested.
If you are making a reservation for a party greater than 10, PLEASE REQUEST TO NOT HAVE YOUR PARTY SEATED BY THE BATHROOM AREA. IT IS EXTREMELY DARK IN THAT SECTION, TO THE POINT YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE THE MENU. YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE YOUR FOOD. ALSO, it is next to the patio door where smoke come and go for their smoke breaks, so add cold breeze and whifts of cigarettes. The lighting either needs to be brighter or don't utilize this area at all. If I would have known this is where we would be seated, I would have not made reservations and went to another restaurant because this completely killed the mood for everyone.
Had a great Valentine's date here! It happened to be karaoke night which was fun. It was really busy but our server was awesome and the sushi was on point. Very accommodating! We were late for our reservation and they held our table. Great experience
We celebrated our one year anniversary and had the same waitress as our first date
awesome staff. Fun New Years spot. will be back for sure
Overall it was an "ok" experience, and we would definitely try it again. Given that it was a New Year's Eve dinner the ambiance left much to be desired. It was quite which allowed for conversation but also took away from the Holiday Evening.
Super yummy Sushi! It was a little long of a wait then anticipated, but so worth it! I had the Vegas roll and the Yummy roll, and both were excellent!
Not a big fan. Food was OK at best. Service was slow and unattentive. Could have just been the night but the room was extremely noisy and the live music from Famous Daves bleeding through the floor which (wouldn't be bad if it weren't loud but muffed)
Everything was ok we came here or more sister in laws birthday so we could plan to surprise at home but it obviously failed and everyone got tired because we waited an hour for the food and 40 min for the tab.
The management of the kitchen was extremely poor. We ordered both sushi and cooked food for our dinner. The sushi arrived 45 minutes after the cooked food, when everyone eating hot food had finished, and the sushi eaters were hungry and grumpy.
The waiter twice told us the sushi would be ready in five minutes or less, once telling us it "was being plated." Then he just went away and hid. Asset no point did we give him a hard time or even complain.
Sushi was acceptable, not great. Soft shell crab in spider roll was under sized and not freshly cooked.
There are better sushi restaurants nearby. Give it a miss.
Happy hour has AMAZING deals!!!
Soon as i arrived although my reservations was like 20 minutes later, I was seated right away, the waiters at the door and servers was awesome., the next time I come back to MN to visit I will definitely come back. i use go to Libertines all the time and i enjoy sushi Tango much much more and service overall was a 10, I never knew the was a patio.. i really enjoyed myself.
Thank you!
The host was bad, the waiter was ok but got wrongit was the first bad actually had there. Overall was not impressed.
We had heard great reviews about one of the sushi chefs from friends. However, we were totally disappointed. We sat for probably 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. We ordered wine off the menu then ten minutes later the server came back to tell us we ordered off an old wine menu and that one wasn't available. Eventually, we did get our drinks, but it easily took 30 minutes. We ordered four rolls, but we only received three. When we told our server, he seemed surprised. Again, eventually, we got our rolls. Two of them tasted the exact same. One was a fried roll and you could taste that the oil hadn't been changed in awhile. We sat with empty drinks and plates ready to leave for about 15 minutes before our server finally came to give us our check. All around disappointing. I would not go back nor recommend others to return.
We went there for a birthday. We had a large party (about 12), but we were one of a few tables in the whole restaurant. The server was very attentive and apologetic, but the rest of the service was terrible. Our drinks took FOREVER. Several people never got their food. Those of us that did got it way later than we should have. When we mentioned something to management, explaining that we believed our server was doing well, but the kitchen and bar were not, they were not apologetic at all! They didn't seem to care and got very defensive. To top the cherry... birthday girl got NOTHING. We booked through open table. Every restaurant I have been to through open table, when I note there is a special occasion, has done something in some way to make it special. They did nothing.
The food... it is okay. Not the greatest sushi, but considering the service... FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.
The sushi was actually delicious, but everything else was bland
Happy Hour specials (Nigiri and sashimi) were excellent and well priced. In general, the fish was top notch and the prices reasonable. The only downside was that it took a somewhat extended time to get the bill.
We went here for my Mom's birthday for a group of 8. I made reservations and they had a table ready for us when we got there. We arrived at the tail end up happy hour. Happy hour prices are great! Lot's of options for appetizers or discounted sushi rolls as well as an extensive drink menu. Food came out in a timely fashion and overall was quite good. However, felt the regular menu was a bit overpriced. The ambiance was nice overall but the lighting was so dim we had trouble reading the menus. Service was mediocre. Although what appeared to be floating wait staff were good at clearing empty plates and refilling water, the waiter assigned to our table was hardly around and we had to seek him out in order to get our bill. Take out containers were not offered and we had to find him again in order to receive those. Overall a nice experience. Would go again but would make sure it was during happy hour.
We had great sushi to celebrate an early Valentine's Day. The best shrimp fried rice I have had in a long time. Great atmosphere also!
High quality sushi, but definitely over priced. You can get sushi that's just as good for half the price at several other Minneapolis restaurants.
I enjoyed my time there. Would definitely recommend.
Brought my family here. Entres all came out at different times. Two of us had chicken Katsu but they forgot the sauce so it was basically dry shake and bake. Could have been resolved if waitress had stopped back at table between dropping off the chicken Katsu and the $145 bill for 5 adults and an 8 year old. No alcohol ordered.
It's some of the best sushi, best sake and best atmosphere I've ever found in the US. It's a fantastic restaurant, and I cannot recommend it enough.
My husband and I had our first date at Sushi Tango 12 years ago and we go back every year. The food is good and it's a nice restaurant. The last couple times we haven't had the friendliest service, however, I think we've had the same server...so it may just be the gal that we had. She was attentive, but very few words...no warm and fuzzy from her. We'll continue to be back though!
Service was very slow, as usual. The food is usually good this time it took about 45 minutes to get 4 rolls. We love happy hour on Sunday's but it always takes at least 45 minutes for food.
Service was extremely slow. After placing our order we waited over 45 minutes for our 6 rolls. I started to wonder if our server forgot to put our order in. She didn't check in with us til the 30 minute mark and said our food would be right out. Nope. Took an additional 15-20 minutes. Wanted to order more rolls, but couldn't handle waiting another hour.
A friend and I had lunch at Sushi Tango last week. We were surprised to find at 1:00 pm, there was virtually no one else there. However, that meant we could linger in quiet conversation. Our server was attentive and informative and since there were no other customers, he tended to hover a bit which was a little annoying. We shared the Centipede roll, the Spider roll and we each had shrimp tempura. A lot of food and everything was really yummy...
