The food was amazing! We haven't been dining for a while and it was a nice treat.
great food and service
I’d rather not say how I truly feel because afterwards everybody will want to go there and I won’t be able to get a table. So I’m not going to say I think this is the best sushi place in the world, and that the food and ambiance and staff are amazing. Why would I do that to myself?
Very good tasting food and great service
The table wasn’t stable but the food and service was good. Friendly environment.
I had the worst server and the rice sucked. Wouldn’t recommend coming back. Fish was not fresh.
LOVE, love, love Sushi Roku in Newport Beach. The Manager, Chris Han & his Team ALWAYS make certain both family & business occasions are memorable. The menu items are varied & always fresh & delicious BUT, I suggest you allow your sushi chef to surprise you.
It was still outside seating in the tent. would like to have restaurant open again an much more enjoyable atmosphere
Service was great and food had a lot of flavor, but portions seemed smaller than usual and we both left hungry!
Overall the sushi is mediocre. Most of the rolls and sashimi slices were served very warm. The rice can be warm but the actual fish itself appeared to have not been freshly pulled from a refrigerated environment. There’s something about warm sushi that doesn’t sit well with my mouth. Overall the previous reviews critiquing the sushi are spot on. Liquor store sushi is its closest competitor.
Go to Delsushi at UCI.
They don’t have a vegetarian or vegan menu like they used to, so there aren’t any tofu or veg rolls items listed. You have to ask.
Wish there was more of a sashimi offering, but overall amazing. Service was impeccable.
Big huge waste of time and money. The food was like overpriced Pei Wei; sushi mediocre, sashimi average, rolls dry. The $49 ribeye might as well have been from Pavillions. Waiter was inattentive. We had two tweens with us, among many other forgotten promises never returned with forks so they could even eat. We didn’t have wine and only ordered a total of 3 cocktails yet our bill before gratuity was $340!! We had a few leftovers but hardly over ordered. We will never go back.
Live DJ Saturday night! Great drinks, roll menu is limited but all were super fresh.
Best sushi in the OC.
Our waitress was great
Took a really long time to get a waiter to come by our table. Food quality is mediocre and over priced. Tuna used on sushi is not sashimi grade, chicken is dry as paper.
This is an excellent place! The food was incredible.
Love the food at #Sushi Roku Newport Beach, CA
The restaurant does a great job at creating physical distancing and also had fun Halloween decorations. Our server was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. I could live on the scrumptious Brussel sprout chips. The sushi was super fresh as well. I love this place.
The menu is too limited. It's hard to recommend to a friend right now.
Took my daughter for a birthday lunch... Food and service were very good. Their birthday dessert was was amazing! The presentation was spectacular.. And, the ice cream and cheesecake inside were just perfect. Thank you!
Amazing food and great service. As always!!!
Exceptional service, food, and ambiance. Highly recommend.
This is a very high end and expensive sushi restaurant but well worth it if you can afford it. We went for a special occasion and ended up seated next to a famous Angels baseball player. Food is fantastic and mixed drinks were very good too.
Can say enough good things about our experience on a Thursday night in early October at Sushi Roku! We sat outside, which was beautiful in the early evening, and chose to order multiple appetizers and small plates rather than entrees. We got the wagyu beef gyoza, ribeye-wrapped asparagus, Chilean sea bass skewer, grilled lamb chops, miso soup, avocado-asparagus roll, and the molten chocolate cake at the end. Every single item was terrific, as was the attentive service from Taylor. The only minor quibble is that I felt the skewer was overpriced for a small amount of sea bass, but really, the taste of everything was terrific. Highly recommended.
Service and food always great when we visit. One of our favorite places!
Great. I will be back.
Good quality sushi well prepared
The quality of the food was amazing and the drinks were even better. I believe I was being waited on by Nick and he had impeccable service, his recommendations were enjoyable and a kept vibrant personality. I will definitely be back
Very average food with only average service. I would not revisit.
People were not wearing masks when getting up to go to the bathroom
My favorite was the Toro Carpaccio
Birthday and Grad celebration
Feel safe to seat inside or outside.
Celebrated our 15th year anniversary and we got a great table, service was awesome and food was delicious.
Best Sushi place around. 10 stars. Best service, Best Food. Great, great place.
Service was so slow & clunky, especially for an early sat night when it was not full. Plus, I put in the reservation that it was a birthday. Nothing! No mention.
Great service, took all the necessary precautions, and food was up to par! Had a great time overall.
Excellent food all around. We decided to do hot food instead of sushi this time and it was amazing.
