The food was incredible. Service was great, but some items took a bit too long. Over 20 mins for a piece of sushi that I added last minute. Overall the ambience was very energetic with a live DJ on Friday night. Not cheap, but goes with the territory for good sushi, especially in Newport Beach. Highly recommend.

They have a great happy hour which includes several of their appetizers. This was a great opportunity to order several of them. They are deliciously prepared and full of flavor. I particularly enjoyed their fried shrimp calamari, both had a wonderful asian sauce on them.

Fun vibe but also enough ambiance for a date. Sometimes it’s awkward if it is too quite and you want to hav conversation. Food was good and server was very nice.

The oysters are very small (size of a quarter), but tasty. Nothing out of this world, but good presentation and flavor.

The Uni Udon was underwhelming. The appetizer consisted of fettuccine-like pasta in a cheese sauce resembling a mac-and-cheese sauce, with a small sliver of uni across the top. A complete disappointment.

The Zen S'more additionally was horrendous. The chocolate was too sweet, and so was the matcha green tea blocks. Two bites in, I couldn't stomach any more sugar.

The highlight of the night was the mitsu sushi platter (chef's choice); it was delightful, innovative, and left me hungry for more. If I were to do anything differently with the meal, I would have forgone the two appetizers and dessert, and ordered 3 servings of this dish.

We love Sushi Roku in Newport Beach, from the food (the best anywhere!) to the comfortable seating to the welcome way everyone always makes us feel, from the hostess to the servers to the managers, always very friendly and attentive to every detail. We drive quite a distance to go there, but it’s worth it, because the never disappoint! 😊

Choices for the pre fixe lunch during Restaurant Week were good. Presentation was very nice. Sashimi & sushi were OK - not exceptional but the other entree choices were good.
Ambiance/decor very nice which makes it very pleasant for dining and as a meeting place. Service was excellent.

Very fresh fish for sushi and sashimi. Varied menu. Great menu variety. Lovely atmosphere. Executive Bento box was great. Tempura could have been a tad crispier. Green tea was the best and I’m not a great fan of green tea. Looking forward to my next visit and I plan to sit at the sushi counter.

We eat out often and our experience at Roku ranks in our top 10 all-time best. Our waiter made some great recommendations- YELLOWTAIL DICED CHILES!!!! Wow! Spicy Miso soup! Brussels sprouts Chips, Sashimi, Carnival Cake. Awesome!

Great food. Our server recommended the restaurant week menu since it was our first visit and it was wonderful. Our server was Karen and she really made sure we were happy during our visit. Highly recommend the dining experience here.

Went for Newport Beach Restaurant Week for lunch. We loved it last year so decided to go again. Starters: We loved the shiitake mushrooms salad and the sashimi salad. Entrees: We ordered the chicken which was excellent. However, their sashimi entree was disappointing: fish didn't taste fresh like before. It was tasteless, wasn't melt in your mouth fresh and actually one of the fish tasted off. Desserts: Sorbet: you get two choices of flavors, it was just ok, mango was too tart. The other choice was a Chocolate souffle which was delicious. We should have ordered two of that. Our waitress was WONDERFUL!! Very attentive, clearing dishes right away, giving us hot tea (love their green tea) as needed without having to ask, very pleasant and courteous. All in all food just wasn't as great as last year.

This was our first time at sushi roku. We loved it. We sat at the sushi bar. Our chef was excellent. The food was beautifully prepared and he was very friendy. Great overall experience. We’ll be back for sure.
