Second time at Sushi Rock and had a delicious dinner. Attentive service, good food and affordable prices. Will definitely continue going back
I loved the whole vibe of sushi rock! Such a young modern sushi restaurant. A lot of sushi restaurants I’ve been to have such a small quiet feel but not this place! I loved all of their rolls and the bulgogi beef sliders were so good! Took a while for our server to greet us, but overall a great experience and I’ll be back!
The food here is absolutely amazing. The fish is fresh and the rolls are unique and excellent. There’s a really fun vibe to the restaurant with good music. The service however was absolutely awful. We went on a Sunday night and it definitely was not crowded. Everything took an abnormally long time to come out. I had to ask for one of our appetizers 3 times and it didn’t make it to the table until we had finished our main rolls. On top of that, our waiter seemed to be avoiding us the entire time. I tried to wave him down and he walked away. We sat at the table for 15 minutes with our empty plates waiting for them to be cleared. Eventually I had to go up to the hostess (who was very rude) and ask for someone to bus our table and bring the check bc we physically couldn’t wait any longer. Overall, amazing food, some of the worst service I’ve ever received.
The hostesses were very rude. Booked through Open Table and had to sit at the bar to get happy hour specials which was fine however they mocked and laughed at my group because we wanted the happy hour specials. Then proceeded to say I was a no show to open table after I spent $100. The bartender was nice and the food was good however the customer service will ensure I do not return.
some of the best sushi in Arlington! great outdoor seating too
Great place. Good vibe. Food tasted great and was fresh.
Great food, good atmosphere and half price bottles of wine!
Good food, slightly expensive. Service is just okay; but the problem observed after eating here a couple times is that the kitchen is very slow. There might not be enough people making rolls for a restaurant that’s quite frequently busy.
We really enjoyed the meal and the friendly staff.
Such an amazing place! Truly enjoyed my time there :)
My friend and I went to Sushi Rock on Wednesday and both of us got very sick from the sushi.
Great service and food love outdoor seating too
I’ve been here before and the food was amazing. This time, it was mediocre at best. Don’t know if it was a one time thing but I don’t see us making the trip back. Oh also, my stomach was upset afterwards.
It was a nice place. But was sat next to two women who half way through the waitress taking our order, butted in and asked if they could take their bottle of wine home. Didnt say excuse me, didnt apologize. Just snapped their finger to get the attention of the waitress, just to ask if they could take their bottle of wine home. Ah bless em.
Really great sushi at reasonable prices. The location is great and there are a lot of options on the menu. The noise level is a little high because of all the music.
Nice atmosphere, and the sushobwas good. But it was LOUD! Hard to hear yourself think. And Not cheap
Our server, Mandu was exceptional! Made the evening just right. Sushi was very good!
Sushi Rock was amazing ! Highly recommend ! I had a great experience and would definitely go back !
I had a small birthday dinner here, and really enjoyed the food and ambiance at Sushi Rock. Check in on drinks were slightly slow, it took awhile for us to get the check, lighting upstairs was low (we had trouble getting decent photos), had drink spilled on me (no worries, I was a server in college), -- Other than that, the servers were very nice, accommodating (when I had 1 additional guest for my reservation), and the food/cocktails were tasty! Thank you also for the delicious chocolate cake with icecream, and for singing to me!!
I had the:
Nigiri+Maki Set (with Light My Fire roll, typical salmon/tuna/etc nigiri, salmon avocado roll):
I loved how big the Light My Fire roll was. Really loved the shrimp tempura/avo topped with spicy tuna, jalapeno, and crunch. Nigiri was great, especially the melt-in-your-mouth salmon.
The two different mango specialty cocktails:
I forgot the names. They were yummy, but the mango cocktail drink with hibiscus leaves in it was too sweet. The yuzu mango cocktail drink was bubbly and I loved the kick it had to it.
First time at this fun spot in Arlington to meet two old friends. The pro is the menu is fun and eclectic with some great roll choices, and the ambiance is great for people-watching and a positive atmosphere.
The bummer is the service was abysmal. The attitude of the server was almost comical. She didn't smile once, regardless of our enthusiasm in building a bigger and bigger bill through multiple bottles of wine and full dinner courses. Even when the bill came, she held it up and looked away into the distance as if she wanted to be anywhere else but in what she was doing. It became a running joke at the table at what we did so wrong to contribute to her being so completely uninterested and lacking in enthusiasm.
The food is great. The pricing on wine was fantastic! But, it really was a shame that the service was so bad. I almost wanted to take her aside after and ask her if she was truly ok....seriously, it was that bad.
This place is a great spot for lunch specials. The specialty rolls are my favorite.
Sushi Rock Rocks!
Had a little issue with the service when we got there for the dinner but manager name Junho came and took care of the situation promptly.
Great food/will definitely go there again!
I have been to this restaurant for the past several years and this was the worst experience I have had in Arlington in a while. Such a good restaurant such a bad experience, very unfortunate. Waiter dropped a tray of 5 beers on us, we constantly had to flag him down, and then he said the manager was too busy to come talk to us. Never have we been treated this way.
Super busy but service and food were excellent.
Good food, excellent cocktails, slow service. Not sure I'll go back because the specialty sushi rolls seem over priced
Yummy food, server was very nice and fun to talk too
I've been to Sushi Rock in the past and loved it. Unfortunately, this time we had terrible service and the food wasn't great.
This was not the 4.5 star place I read about.
The edamame and the beef tataki were acceptable but the Sushi rolls DO NOT rock. Avocado in everything except the spicy tuna roll. Barely any signs of shrimp tempura, soft shell crab, or any intended protein-containing ingredient. Server was attentive on a busy Saturday night. Too loud for conversation inside.
Food was sloppy and our waiter gave us no time. Constantly didn’t have water or lemonade refilled. At the end he was also telling me what to tip which was just uncomfortable.
Server was great, food was phenomenal and the ambiance was fun.
My friend and I received amazing service and the sushi was really good
Delicious food, really nice, interesting cocktails. Very good fresh sushi, and a recommended date-night spot. Service was very slow when it got busy.
Overall it was a good experience. We ate outside on a nice night but were constantly fending off an army of bugs. I can’t really fault the restaurant for that, but I’d suggest eating inside. The food was good although one of the sushi rolls did not taste super fresh.
Food was delicious but took a very long time to come out.
Didn’t realize that reservations are not honored for outside seating, but the wait was minimal. Always a great place for food and ambiance in the neighborhood while sitting outside. F
It was okay. Service was terribly slow and we had a bunch of rowdy college kids next to us which made the whole experience overwhelmingly loud. The sushi wasn’t all that impressive for the price either. But the tempura ice cream was yummy
Too loud but food was ok and service good
Seviche was to die for! Steamed dumplings in comparison were plain. Outstanding service! Although our waitress messed up the bills and i end up paying my friend's bill; i am giving 5 stars for service as they gave us complimentary edamame which made the experience positive and pleasant. We were seated outside so cant say much about ambience. But great outdoor space for people with pets! Happy hour deals are good value. Free parking in the next door garage is icing on the cake. Will be coming back!
Food was decent, overall. Atmosphere is definitely loud. Be ready to shout over the table to carry on any kind of conversation. A little on the pricey side, but what else is new in Arlington these days.
Asked to be sat in a booth and was told it was for 4 people, we were than sat elsewhere. As we’re being sat at our table, they sit 2 people where we asked to be sat... Either poor communication or atrocious service, betting on the latter
