For a decade founder Gari Sugio has run a sushi restaurant that is innovative in the way it serves sushi with both cold and warm ingredients, offering more than 130 varieties. Sushi of Gari 46 focuses primarily on serving Gari’s “Signature Omakase” Sushi dinner which shows off his expertise with marinated and spiced raw and slightly cooked ingredients, in addition to a menu of traditional Japanese dishes. The sake selection, by Gari Sugio, is one of the best in town along with a limited wine selection of fine wines.

    Having dined here very regularly for over 10 years pre theatre, the restaurant has become difficult about dietary requirements. We have never had a problem with substitutions and now it is restrictive. So if you don’t eat shellfish you cannot amend the dining packages. They admitted this is a recent change. It will prob stop us returning and it’s a real shame.

    The food was good but not in relation to the price. The service was ok but not in relation to the price. Especially they want to sell you totally overpriced Sake. (I know NYC is more expensive than Vienna.)

    Lunch at Gari was impeccable, the best sushi in midtown. Simply outstanding, between the service (3x bottles of iced green tea, delicious, were consumed) and the presentation of the pieces, it was beyond impressive. I can't wait to go back!
