Sushiko is one of my favorite Go To neighborhood restaurants. Always a good place to meet friends. The service and food can be depended upon to be wonderful. The parking is easy and validated.

My wife and I had been to Sushi Ko a number of times and always enjoyed it. Recently we went there for a Valentines Day dinner and were disappointed. All four courses of the “special” dinner were somewhere between adequate and poor.

Excellent sushi, but not inexpensive! The hamachi appetizer ($18) was superb. Even my salad was good. But be prepared to spend a lot.

All four of us ordered the three course lunch special. It was beautifully prepared. The seaweed salad was obviously not store bought but freshly made and delicious. Great food, great value.

an outstanding sushi/sashimi restaurant in an attractive setting, if a little hard to find on a first visit. It is hardly a bargain restaurant but the prices are very fair given the high quality and personal preparation of each dish.

My partner and I were shopping around the area so we actually were 45 minutes early for our reservation. They made accommodating to us so we can dine early. The soup is soothing and the sashimi is fantastic in term of freshness and thickness(for the value obviously). The sea scallops are perfectly cooked and the sweet pea puree is a beautiful balance. The whole dish is just delightful. The salmon is perfectly cooked and my partner falls in love with the way they marinated it. It is the Japanese way unlike many of restaurants here in America. I love the sushi and the maki roll. Great fish, great rice and great balance. The portion is huge in terms of average Japanese restaurant. I am pretty full even before desserts. Dessert is the average green tea ice-cream, but I am already satisfied with the two courses I had.

The sushi was incredibly fresh and well-portioned. For such fresh fish the prices were very reasonable, however this is a pricier restaurant. We went for restaurant week and I got the miso soup, sashimi, and sushi platter (forget the names). The miso soup was small and I would have preferred the seaweed salad instead. I tried my friends and it was delicious, quite large, and had several different types of seaweed. Service was excellent, our waters were never empty and the waiter was always available when needed but not there too much, it was the perfect balance. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back to try other dishes and maybe the omakase Bar.

We enjoyed our dinner, but not the noise level in the downstairs room. If you care about noise level, insist on a table upstairs.

Wow! Each dish was immaculately plated and divine in taste. The restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate our schedule changes. One in our party ordered cooked salmon and said it was the second best he'd had in his life. We who ordered sushi thought we had the better meal. You know the food is exceptional when everyone at the table claims victory for having chosen the best menu item. I'll be back.

This restaurant was in the neighborhood and was participating in Restaurant Week. I’m glad I picked it because it’s now my new favorite sushi spot and cocktails are amazing.

First visit was for my wife's birthday lunch during restaurany week. The restaurant does not face Wisconsin Ave., so it took a few minutes to find it. Plenty of parking. Got a nice quiet corner booth. We both had the three course special. All food was presented beautifully. Service was just right - attentive and prompt without being bothersome. Excellent seaweed salad. I had the very good shrimp tempura. Sushi was also excellent. Only slight disappointment was the slightly dry rice on the spicy tuna roll, undoubtably prepared ahead of time. Surprised us with a nice desert of fried banana with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Will definitely return.

We went there for the restaurant week and we both had their tasting menu dinner. 1st course was 2 piece of yellow tail and 2 piece of salmon sashimi. Yellow tail had a large area of dark meat which we didn't care for but it was very fresh and nice size cut of fish. Next, we got 3 seared scallops cut in half with drops of pesto sauce, a few salmon roes, and soy sauce pickled cucumbers. It was very nice and scallops were cooked just right. The main entree was 4 pieces of sushi and an Element Roll. All 4 pieces of sushi had thin pieces of fish and large amount of rice. The Element Roll was chopped pieces of tuna on top of a roll, which according to the menu was rice, avocado and potato chips. Again, the ratio of fish and rice was heavy on rice and not enough fish. We ordered a side dish of grilled octopus which was pretty tender for the most part and had nice grilled smoky flavor.

Went there for Restaurant Week. The food is good, but you get very little for your money. Without Restaurant Week ($35), the cost would have been extremely high.

Sushi was okay. Not sure why you would pay all that extra $$$ for what was just really basic sushi. The sashimi cuts were small and thin. And the spicy crunchy tuna roll was neither spicy, nor crunchy and was just any other tuna roll. So its fine if the prices reflected that this was nothing out of the ordinary. Cocktails were decent, but so they are at a lot of other places at the same price point.

Restaurant Week convinced me to go back to Sushiko after two consecutive disappointing experiences years ago. The quantity of the food they served during Restaurant Week was generous and each dish was tasty and delicate. Yet, I did not like the place as much as I know I should have and I think it had to do with the lack of ambiance. I want to like it more because this is in my neighborhood. The restaurant messed up the billing; instead of splitting the billed they charged my friend twice and did not charge me anything. So may be what I was feeling and seeing is that they were just overwhelmed during restaurant week.

The Restaurant Week dinner was excellent - from sushi to scallop with cuke to a full platter with unusual rolls and green tea ice cream - many new dishes. My daughter ate from the menu with rolls she has had before in New York - but these were extraordinary,. she said. A delightful and delicious evening.

Food is perfectly good if not outstanding. The lunch set menus are a good deal.

An authentic Japanese restaurant never charges for green tea but they do - and they are slow to fill up your cup. These things matter.

The sashimi was delectable. My friend was not certain about the Salmon-looking Arctic Char, but once he tasted it, he could not stop raving and comparing to other top-rated sushi places on the west coast. There was a good selection of cold sake. Definitely a place worth visiting.

As always, Sushiko's enticing menu met all 5 of our food desires, from small soup + 1 maki roll to chicken yakitori to a perfect chirasi bowl. For some reason the edamame were dry on the outside--but the beans were delicious.

Sushi-Ko never disappoints. Met 2 friends for lunch and loved the quick service and how quiet it was, even though there was a decent crowd there. The miso soup with eggplant and mussels was outstanding.

This is a local hidden jewel of a restaurant. It is a little off the beaten track, in Chevey Chase Shopping Center, between Clyde's and Giant, but it is well worth going slightly out of the way to visit. The food is delectable Japanese fare, lovely sushi and sashimi, but also great tempura and teriyaki amd everything else Japanese. The service is lovely, and the ambiance is elegant, if a bit noisy, when full, but then it is rightly popular.

We had drinks and a few appetizers at the bar suggesting you try the calamari as it was lightly battered and seasoned nicely, could be devoured with no dipping sauce. Hooray! Thumbs-up to the preparer. Afterwards we were seated at our table and I ordered the seaweed salad and the spicy tuna roll, my friends ordered the East and West, Spicy Tuna Roll, Avocado Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll. The food was reasonably priced to me, very enjoyable and filling. The service was great and our server was very attentive. We had early reservations and were out by 7 and the restaurant was packed..I'm glad we went early. It's a very nice restaurant and cozy great for a get together with friends and the staff are very pleasant and friendly as well. Metro accessible as well so if you don't want to drive it's a lovely walking neighborhood.

Wow! we dined here for the first time Last Monday, and were very impressed with both the food and the service. Nancy was a wonderful server and helped us navigate the menu. we had the smoky mussel miso soup, and could have made a meal out of just that. the tuna 6 ways was amazing, each piece was better than the last.
