Food is perfectly good if not outstanding. The lunch set menus are a good deal.

An authentic Japanese restaurant never charges for green tea but they do - and they are slow to fill up your cup. These things matter.

The sashimi was delectable. My friend was not certain about the Salmon-looking Arctic Char, but once he tasted it, he could not stop raving and comparing to other top-rated sushi places on the west coast. There was a good selection of cold sake. Definitely a place worth visiting.

As always, Sushiko's enticing menu met all 5 of our food desires, from small soup + 1 maki roll to chicken yakitori to a perfect chirasi bowl. For some reason the edamame were dry on the outside--but the beans were delicious.

Sushi-Ko never disappoints. Met 2 friends for lunch and loved the quick service and how quiet it was, even though there was a decent crowd there. The miso soup with eggplant and mussels was outstanding.

This is a local hidden jewel of a restaurant. It is a little off the beaten track, in Chevey Chase Shopping Center, between Clyde's and Giant, but it is well worth going slightly out of the way to visit. The food is delectable Japanese fare, lovely sushi and sashimi, but also great tempura and teriyaki amd everything else Japanese. The service is lovely, and the ambiance is elegant, if a bit noisy, when full, but then it is rightly popular.

We had drinks and a few appetizers at the bar suggesting you try the calamari as it was lightly battered and seasoned nicely, could be devoured with no dipping sauce. Hooray! Thumbs-up to the preparer. Afterwards we were seated at our table and I ordered the seaweed salad and the spicy tuna roll, my friends ordered the East and West, Spicy Tuna Roll, Avocado Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll. The food was reasonably priced to me, very enjoyable and filling. The service was great and our server was very attentive. We had early reservations and were out by 7 and the restaurant was packed..I'm glad we went early. It's a very nice restaurant and cozy great for a get together with friends and the staff are very pleasant and friendly as well. Metro accessible as well so if you don't want to drive it's a lovely walking neighborhood.

Wow! we dined here for the first time Last Monday, and were very impressed with both the food and the service. Nancy was a wonderful server and helped us navigate the menu. we had the smoky mussel miso soup, and could have made a meal out of just that. the tuna 6 ways was amazing, each piece was better than the last. Will definitely be back.

The sashimi was excellent- very high quality , and presented in an attractive fashion. While when I have been there a number of times and found the noise level a problem, this time I found the noise level much less ( might have been the lack of noisy tables). The service was very good- gave us enough time to finish our appetizers and then bring out the main courses without having to wait too long.

Excellent Japanese restaurant. The sushi is great. They have sea urchin and other rare types. Didn't like the fried oysters; batter too thick and not much taste.

It was very delicious! It does add up but the rolls are extremely tasty as was the tempura. I wouldn't recommend getting the fresh wasabi for an extra charge- it really didn't look that much different than the paste wasabi at all (compared to other places i have been) and the quantity was not much.

good Japanese food, good service, moderate prices, convenient complementary parking, moderate to light noise, ask for a quiet table and they do their best. Smallish restaurant. Go for a booth. Try it.

I enjoyed the food and the quiet ambiance. The chicken gyoza were particularly tasty. The grilled shisito peppers were bigger than I was expecting, and not as piquant as their smaller counterparts. The sushi was fresh and very tasty. Of note, the nigiri sushi is priced by the piece. The sake collection is reasonable but not extensive. I did not have wine but perused the list and was surprised to find a number of bottles for several hundred dollars. Seriously? Who spends $300 on a red Burgundy at a shopping mall?

My only criticism (2 stars for ambiance down from 5) is because you can no longer sit at the “Sushi Bar” when you eat Sushi at lunch of dinner. The owner like the owner at the superb Taro Sushi now reserve the former sushi bar for their high end pre fixe Omakasi meals at $130 or $160. There is no fresher sushi or such a variety at other area sushi bars so I will continue to give them my business, however, not allowing people to use the sushi bar at least at lunch is ridiculous since all of the sushi bar seats are unoccupied every lunch time I have been there eating sushi at a dining table.

I wish this was a little bit more affordable place, so I would come more often and would also invite more people to join us on dates. I specially love their appetizer selection, which are prepared very delicately in small pieces of artwork and divinely seasoned. Whenever I need to treat myself, I think of Sushiko.
