We dine at Sushiko probably once a week. The sashimi is outstanding, and the cooked dishes (seafood and non-seafood) are wonderful too. We especially love the hot-rock beef!

The food was good. I really enjoyed the squash blossom tempura and salmon crudo. The saki seemed very overpriced, as compared to other similar restaurants. We were also seated next to a large family of loud-talkers which did not help our special birthday dinner experience. The service was efficient, which I appreciate.

This is our favorite sushi place in DC area. I wished they didn't remove the "coconut ice cream" from their menu:)

The 3 course tasting menu for lunch was delicious and a good value. One caveat, parking due to construction is very difficult so give yourself plenty of extra time to deal with it.

Sushiko is special. It has a pleasant decor. The food is creative and delicious. The wait staff is professional and knowledgeable. There is ample parking so it's easy to get in and out, and they validate the parking. I highly recommend Sushiko.

Freshest Sushi anywhere & more expensive than most, but worth it in my book. My only gripe is that SushiKo no longer lets you eat sushi at the sushi bar, watching the chefs carefully putting together your orders. After their redesign they now reserve the sushi bar, renamed Kobo, for special $130 or $160 chirashi selections which are considered superb. Now you eat Sushi sitting at at table....Still great though!

Premium and artistic sushi at reasonable prices. Keep in mind portions are not “American Style” but more Japanese tapas. Plan appetite and wallet according.

The food was fine, but much more expensive, compared for instance to Tako Grill in Bethesda.

Best sushi in the DC area and wonderful ambience. Rather pricey so I opted for the 3 course lunch for $25 and hot sake. Only negative is parking lot construction so take metro if possible or go at non peak time.

Always as Good as expected.
Just my take on the wine list which includes a lot of expensive choices and no much affordable wines, most of the tables were not drinking wine . Thanks to the corkage fee we could enjoy good wine without spending 200 bucks a bottle.

My wife and I eat at Sushiko at least every other week, and we always love the fabulous sashimi and the cooked dishes, especially the eel tatsuta-age and the hot-rock beef. Gracious and wonderful service as usual from Diana and Vicki!

My wife and I had been to Sushi Ko a number of times and always enjoyed it. Recently we went there for a Valentines Day dinner and were disappointed. All four courses of the “special” dinner were somewhere between adequate and poor.

an outstanding sushi/sashimi restaurant in an attractive setting, if a little hard to find on a first visit. It is hardly a bargain restaurant but the prices are very fair given the high quality and personal preparation of each dish.

My partner and I were shopping around the area so we actually were 45 minutes early for our reservation. They made accommodating to us so we can dine early. The soup is soothing and the sashimi is fantastic in term of freshness and thickness(for the value obviously). The sea scallops are perfectly cooked and the sweet pea puree is a beautiful balance. The whole dish is just delightful. The salmon is perfectly cooked and my partner falls in love with the way they marinated it. It is the Japanese way unlike many of restaurants here in America. I love the sushi and the maki roll. Great fish, great rice and great balance. The portion is huge in terms of average Japanese restaurant. I am pretty full even before desserts. Dessert is the average green tea ice-cream, but I am already satisfied with the two courses I had.

The sushi was incredibly fresh and well-portioned. For such fresh fish the prices were very reasonable, however this is a pricier restaurant. We went for restaurant week and I got the miso soup, sashimi, and sushi platter (forget the names). The miso soup was small and I would have preferred the seaweed salad instead. I tried my friends and it was delicious, quite large, and had several different types of seaweed. Service was excellent, our waters were never empty and the waiter was always available when needed but not there too much, it was the perfect balance. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back to try other dishes and maybe the omakase Bar.

Wow! Each dish was immaculately plated and divine in taste. The restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate our schedule changes. One in our party ordered cooked salmon and said it was the second best he'd had in his life. We who ordered sushi thought we had the better meal. You know the food is exceptional when everyone at the table claims victory for having chosen the best menu item. I'll be back.

First visit was for my wife's birthday lunch during restaurany week. The restaurant does not face Wisconsin Ave., so it took a few minutes to find it. Plenty of parking. Got a nice quiet corner booth. We both had the three course special. All food was presented beautifully. Service was just right - attentive and prompt without being bothersome. Excellent seaweed salad. I had the very good shrimp tempura. Sushi was also excellent. Only slight disappointment was the slightly dry rice on the spicy tuna roll, undoubtably prepared ahead of time. Surprised us with a nice desert of fried banana with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Will definitely return.

We went there for the restaurant week and we both had their tasting menu dinner. 1st course was 2 piece of yellow tail and 2 piece of salmon sashimi. Yellow tail had a large area of dark meat which we didn't care for but it was very fresh and nice size cut of fish. Next, we got 3 seared scallops cut in half with drops of pesto sauce, a few salmon roes, and soy sauce pickled cucumbers. It was very nice and scallops were cooked just right. The main entree was 4 pieces of sushi and an Element Roll. All 4 pieces of sushi had thin pieces of fish and large amount of rice. The Element Roll was chopped pieces of tuna on top of a roll, which according to the menu was rice, avocado and potato chips. Again, the ratio of fish and rice was heavy on rice and not enough fish. We ordered a side dish of grilled octopus which was pretty tender for the most part and had nice grilled smoky flavor.

Went there for Restaurant Week. The food is good, but you get very little for your money. Without Restaurant Week ($35), the cost would have been extremely high.

Sushi was okay. Not sure why you would pay all that extra $$ for what was just really basic sushi. The sashimi cuts were small and thin. And the spicy crunchy tuna roll was neither spicy, nor crunchy and was just any other tuna roll. So its fine if the prices reflected that this was nothing out of the ordinary. Cocktails were decent, but so they are at a lot of other places at the same price point.

Restaurant Week convinced me to go back to Sushiko after two consecutive disappointing experiences years ago. The quantity of the food they served during Restaurant Week was generous and each dish was tasty and delicate. Yet, I did not like the place as much as I know I should have and I think it had to do with the lack of ambiance. I want to like it more because this is in my neighborhood. The restaurant messed up the billing; instead of splitting the billed they charged my friend twice and did not charge me anything. So may be what I was feeling and seeing is that they were just overwhelmed during restaurant week.

The Restaurant Week dinner was excellent - from sushi to scallop with cuke to a full platter with unusual rolls and green tea ice cream - many new dishes. My daughter ate from the menu with rolls she has had before in New York - but these were extraordinary,. she said. A delightful and delicious evening.
