Sushiko - Chevy Chase
The food was spectacularly delicious and the service was attentive and efficient.
Our server was exceptional
Sushiko never disappoints! As always, the sushi was fabulous, but what will linger in our memory is a salad with frisee, persimmon, pomegranate and sesame dressing - amazing!
We are a crowd of 6-8 wine enthusiasts who regularly dine at SushiKo to sample their cuisine and try various wine pairings. We enjoyed the shishito peppers, Fuyu salad, spicy rock shrimp tempura, hot rock beef, and an assortment of sashimi -- all wonderful, as always. Marta is a tremendous server -- always smiling, knowledgeable, and extremely proactive and helpful. Highly recommended!
Lots of delicious hits, only a couple misses for me. The sushi, specifically, is outstanding.
We are always greeted with smiles and the staff is extremely friendly.
Always happy to dine at Sushi Ko. Dining room could use a refresh.
I was very happy to take my vegetarian date to Sushiko for a fun and varied meal. I wasn't sure what we could order, but ther were many different dishes to make a great meal for both of us. The staff was courteous and attentive. I plan to come here many more times.
Excellent tasting menu. Figs were outstanding.
It is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and one of my all time faves period. Great food, great service and just across the street from me. My neighbor and I meet for dinner at Sushiko once a month and always look forward to it!
Sushiko is a fine restaurant that never disappoints. It combines fine ambiance, good food, and attentive service.
The sashimi is outstanding, as one would expect, but the cooked dishes are superb as well. We love the rock shrimp tempura and the hot rock beef as well. Outstanding!
Superb. Best Japanese in Washington DC area.
Good food and service.
Another excellent meal. Service exceptional.
Outstanding sashimi and cooked dishes as well. Very inventive fusion cuisine. Favorite dishes are the rock shrimp tempura and hot rock wagyu. Good wine list too!
Just a great date night.
Outstanding assortment of sushi. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys nigiri and sashimi.
The edamame and sushi were delicious, so fresh and flavorful, and the service was excellent.
I didn't think that the banana tempura was very good. There wasn't much of a crunchy crust on it.
A truly wonderful and elegant sushi restaurant with consistently delicious and high quality food. The spicy green mussels are a gold standard menu item and are not to be missed!
Very good as always
To begin: We went there because the reviews said it was one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the area. To the contrary, it was nothing but authentic to a native-born Japanese foodie. We are still in quest to find a truly authentic sushi restaurant that doesn't cost us arms and legs.
After "a good selection of sake choices" --- it would help customers to choose from the list if sake list contained the prefectures where each sake is from and sake dryness/sweetness meter numbers. There was none such, so we had to go by the familiar names.
Sushi --- rice crumbled much too easily and was hard to eat properly. Nigiri means "lightly clench" so the rice and fish would stick together. The sushi chefs might benefit from specific training in a sushi place.
Waitress was friendly and efficient. Thank you.
Sushiko is dependably great. It is a step above the usual Japanese fare and in ambiance as well. It is also amenable to diners being able to structure their own dining experiences. We had one person eat a main dish, another combine 2 appetizers and a third eat soup and sushi. You will pay mire for this experience, but it won’t disappoint.
This was a very nice, quiet restaurant. The service was fast, and the food was good. But the food was really nothing special to justify the high cost. The website menu is outdated. It advertises a SUMMER OMAKASE MENU for $50, that we were hoping to have. However, the restaurant now has an AUTUMN OMAKASE MENU for $75.
Service started out strong. Unfortunately we were forgotten after our appetizers. We had to ask for the last part of our order (which arrived in a not so fresh state). Never got the glass of wine we ordered either. Rather disappointing a this price point.
Average sushi for the price. The rice really didn't have any taste and it certainly wasn't as good as we all remembered from the last time we were there about a year or more ago. I'd find another place to try if you're in that area.
Sushiko has some of the freshest sushi in the DMV, but its prices are very high, even for top quality sushi. $4.50+ for one piece of nigiri? I make sure I never come hungry to Sushiko.
I am puzzled by the lack of affordable, solid sushi options in Upper NW-DC and lower Montgomery County. It’s unfortunate, because I’m sure there’s demand for it.
The restaurant never disappoints. Some of the best Japanese food in the city. Service always first rate.
Excellent sushi and service . Ate outside . Very pleasant .
Wonderful sashimi, as always. The Hokkaido Uni was especially super. We also loved the the rock shrimp tempura and the broiled lobster. Marta is a super server.
Over the past few years, there has been a terribly sad decline of a once wonderful restaurant. I hope it can recover.
Omakase it was so ordinary that it was disappointing; and certainly overpriced for what it was. Next time I want a unique experience, I will go somewhere else.
excellent food, including dessert. Order the salmon or chicken teriyaki.
Fantastic place, a little hard to find but worth it in the end. Portions are large so do not overorder
Nice menu selection with good service. The ambiance is a little strip mall like but overall it has very good food and service.
Friendly hostess, friendly and informed wait staff, great food. The Element roll is fantastic! A favorite for us.
Sushiko is wonderful -- raw fish (e.g., sashimi) and cooked dishes as well. Our favorites are the rock shrimp tempura, the soft crab kara age, and the broiled branzino. The desserts are spectacular as well, especially the passion fruit concoction.
Consistently great food, server was very knowledgeable
