Sushiko - Chevy Chase
The waiter was very nice, but not as engaging or helpful as others we have had in the past.
Omakase sushi was incredible!! I highly recommend this place. The valentines day fixed menu was also a superb deal.
We had a great experience at Sushiko with their Prix Fix Valentine's day dinner.
This is the best Sushi restaurant in this part of the country!
Bento Boxes are on the menu! Finally! ..................................................................
Some of the best sushi I've had since moving to DC a couple of months ago.
They got rid of the tasting menu which was a huge hit for everyone on our team! :(
We came for a great meal out after a long day of travel and a birthday celebration. Wonderful all around!
Very good as always
Really delicious. Great service. Interesting food choices. Loved it.
This was a restaurant week menu. There were five of us seated in a great corner booth that helped with conversation. THe dinner was great and service well done.
Delicious Restaurant Week menu, even gluten free for our celiac family members!! Wonderful service, super fresh fish!! Salads were good, as was soup. House sake was nice, but very pricey!
Last nite reservation for 5. Have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Have had private parties in back room. Required credit card with expiration date and SECURITY CODE. Info was placed in their computer. Dangerous practice . Anyone can use my info. I objected and ask them to remove my info from computer at restaurant. Man at desk said he couldn’t remove info. Upset by this. SC
Best cooked salmon And salmon maki I’ve ever had. Attentive staff and great attention to detail for a special birthday meal.
We went on a Monday night with reservations, and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Service was pleasant. Seating was comfortable with a moderate noise level. We were in a booth in a small room with only about 5-6 booths, so it was a nice secluded area. Food was fantastic - the crispy brussels sprouts were a favorite with the vegetarians and omnivores in our group, and other truly delicious items include the salmon ceviche, scallops, and various types of sushi. We finished the meal with the banana tempura dessert - delicious. Only downsides were that they were out of one thing we ordered, and there are no refills on the coffee. Minor inconveniences. We'll definitely be back!
The meal was spoilt by a waitress who couldn’t wait to get rid of me - and the people at the tables near me! She brought the food before I’d finished eating the pr virus course. She tried to make me order dessert before I’d finished my sushi. She hovered over me until I did order dessert, and then dropped off the check with dessert. I had expected to spend at least an hour to an hour and a half enjoying a leisurely dinner, but was out within 45 minutes. I tipped her, but really felt I shouldn’t have done so.
Food was terrific. Chevy Chase is missing more restaurants like this.
Sushiko never disappoints. Our waitress got s little mixed up, but handles it professionally. All four of us ate and enjoyed the meal and the experience.
I am not too happy with the cut of the pieces of sushi. They are generally smaller than most of the sushi restaurants that I have visited, and they are served a little too warm which threw off the flavors. I don't think the sushi chef served the right kind of sushi for the high prices that they charge.
There are the unpretentious sushi restaurants that serve good to mediocre sushi. This one is pretentious and expensive.
Food is always amazing. You can’t go wrong with sushiko. It’s The place. Price is above average, but you get what you pay for.
Tried the restaurant week dinner menu and quite disappointed - both the crab soup and salmon were overly salty. The lettuce salad was tasty but lacking in presentation. The only highlight of the meal was the lychee sorbet.
The service was decent and polite , but one could easily detect the differences in between treating Caucasian clients and other clients. Granted it was a busy night for them so complaints, but no compliments either...
The manager at Sushiko went above and beyond to ensure a gluten free Restaurant Week menu was ready in advance of my reservation. Thank you!
WOW what a disappointment for how well rated they are! I know the quality of food during restaurant week is not usually the best, but I can't believe the amount of hype this place has for the overall sushi quality and price. We did the restaurant week menu as a chance to try this place out. The portions were small, the seaweed in the maki rolls was incredibly chewy, and the raw fish was all too cold - you could tell they pre-plated the salmon poke and the salmon in my maki was not tender. Service was excellent but the prices are outrageous. We had planned to order more sushi in addition to the restaurant week meal as we were still hungry so we strongly considered what was available. We eventually decided against it when we realized how much it would cost total, in addition to our restaurant week package, This is definitely the kind of place to take someone if you want a cool vibe to impress them- provided they don't eat a ton of sushi and you don't care about how much you spend. I will not be returning as I prefer the quality and price of the raw fish at Maki Bar in Bethesda.
Restaurant Week menu. Food good and service very good, attentive and competent.
Always yummy and surprises on the menu abound. Cocnsistently wonder for the last 30 years!
Went to Sushiko Chevy Chase for Restaurant week. Menu was under-whelming. Nothing very special. Roll and quality of the fish on the sushi served was mediocre and tiny slices.
We ate during the first week of 2019 Restaurant week and enjoyed the menu. It was noisy because their were several large tables celebrating. The service was attentive and timely.
Excellent except the lychee dessert.
Outstanding but of course pricy and popular so noisy,
Me and my wife live in the Silver Spring area and been looking for a decent sushi spot. Well, this one definitely delivered. Excellent food.
Amazingly delicious food and excellent value.
It was our first visit. The food was amazing. The noise level was obnoxious. The waiter was very nice. We will try again.
The food was delicious and imaginative, and the service pleasant and efficient. We never felt rushed, and also never had to look for the server. It is a bit expensive, but the food is always so good. We would go back!
Last weekend, we enjoyed the very fine cuisine of Sushiko. But at the end of the excellent meal and service, the hostess interrupted our final sips of tea by loudly and rudely telling us, “if you want to continue talking we have a lounge, we have a lot of people waiting!”, (when we left Sushiko three minutes later we saw no one waiting). It is too bad that Sushiko is not very welcoming, this is very unfortunate for such a good sushi-ya.
Always delicious and well prepared. Sushiko is one of my favorite restaurants.
Celebrating with my niece...college acceptances!
Sushiko is a favorite Japanese restaurant. Their four course prix fixe lunch is a wonderful value. The food is delicious, the prep and presentation rank it among the finer area Japanese restaurants. Service and ambiance are excellent. The only problem with the prix fixe lunch is that it keeeps me from trying their other creative and appealing menu items. Guess I have to return more frequently.
Everything we ate was high quality and well-prepared: chicken gyoza pastry was light and deeply flavored; winter squash tempura perfectly fried; our 2 different chef's assortment "crudo" plates were varied, interesting, and sparklingly fresh. Portions were generous. Service was well-timed and didn't miss a beat - from offering of drinks in short order to dishes brought out at unrushed times but not too long a wait either. And this was Christmas Eve with many occupied tables. The décor was casual-stylish, and it had a lively atmosphere quiet enough for easy conversation. We'll be back!
Some of the best sushi in Montgomery County. A bit expensive but you will leave thinking it was worth it. Great place for a celebration or special occasion.
Excellent, unique modern Japanese cuisine prepared with originality and care.
