Honestly worst sushi I have ever had. I’m not usually too picky about my sushi but this sushi made me feel sick and the waitress was extremely rude. The price is decent for San Francisco but the all you can eat menu is sparse and the food is even worse; despite how cheap it is this place is not worth it at all. I will never ever come back here.
Worst sushi ever! Unfresh rice and fish! Bad costumer service! Felt sick after eating! Dnt waist your money!
The staff there is very friendly and helpful.
I went with a friend and we tried the all you can eat. It`s $27.00 per person and they have a different Menu. The only thing I think I missed was the ginger because for AYCE option they do not offer ginger. I do recommend this place.
One thing I loved was that they tell you that you will be charged if you opt for the All You Can Eat (AYCE) and do not eat everything you request. Once you tell it to your client, they will think before they request.
Great place, good food and I really recommend it.
I definitely don’t recommend this place. Rude and slow service, poor food quality and they messed up with our orders and with the bill as they charged twice one of our cards. Stay away from this place and spend more wisely your money!
Food was good; not the place to go on a hot day.
Granted, hot days are rare in San Francisco, but without air conditioning, this little place was really uncomfortable. On a regular SF day, it'd probably be great. We had 2 rolls and a tempura; it wasn't exceptional, but it was fresh and tasty...and a good value. It's a small place, so it's also not a big, noisy sushi restaurant, which was great.
Sushi Hunter has a great all-you-can-eat sushi menu. With a selection of cold appetizers, hot appetizers, sushi rolls and nigiri. We got dessert for an additional cost, which was delicious. The fried banana without ice cream was our pick, but I can see it being delicious with ice cream as well. Will return!
Went for all you can eat sushi, food was ok nothing special, way too much rice on each roll which made the rolls feel mushy. The soy sauce tasted watered down but service was good! We were welcomed into the building, seated fast and the waitress was friendly.
Poor service with large groups.
We ended up coming here while we were in San Francisco. Weird hours. They opened up at 1:30pm. We were the only ones sitting in the restaurant. It was embarrassingly empty. The food was creative and delicious. They had 3 nigiri made from 3 different fish roe and my favorite...tobiko.. flying fish roe.
It was good and if I were not visiting the city, I would eat there again
I always go to Suchu Hunter for their good food, freindliness and price is quite reasonable. It is a casual restaurant and truly a neighborhood gem.
Very good service, the food was alright.
All you can eat menu is amazing!! Fresh & delicious. Very impressed!
I really enjoyed Sushi Hunter. My friend and I were looking for something with good sushi and good drinks and this restaurant had great reviews. The meal itself was very good. They offered garlic edamame, which was very different but also delicious. The sushi options were very simple, nothing out of the ordinary from other sushi restaurants. I was expecting a wider variety, but the rolls we ordered were very good in the end so I can't complain. The drink menu was very limited though. 2 beer options, only house wine for red, 3 white wine options and a few bottles of Sake. A handful of beer options or adding another 2-3 wines to the list would definitely be a plus.
I have walked by here many times, but this was my first time eating here. My dad and I had the all-you-can-eat dinner, which is not a buffet, but rather prepare-to-order. I thought maybe it would take a long time, but service was quite responsive and the food came out promptly. Food quality was excellent, fresh and tasty. Would come again.
Best all you can eat sushi anywhere.
Place smelled fishy when walking in. Fish was bland and flavorless, also a bit warm. Definitely not good sushi and I wouldn't go back.
I took my girls to Sushi Hunter before Beach Blanket Babylon. Although I would normally be looking for Italian food in the northbeach area, we wanted vegan options and something open before 5pm. I am glad Sushi Hunter was available. The location was clean, the prices were very reasonable and service was prompt and friendly. They also have two tv's- they had Sunday football games on which I liked. My only complaint was that I like to know all of my options when ordering. The server suggested the nigiri specials and I really should have asked for more details. The specials were fine but came cooked with skin on, not my favorite. I like fresh, uncooked nigiri. Also, the server brought the gyros that we did not order. So my suggestions are to the server; please ask more question, give more info, be specific. Overall, we were happy with our choice.
Went to this place on New Year's Day around 8pm. It wasn't crowded, but the ambiance was still nice. I could tell they can get busy. The sushi was amazing and the service was great.
There are not many dish choices for All You Can Eat menu. The fish for nigiri sushi is not fresh enough. Fried food and salad are better. Drinks are not included. The meal is quite expensive.
I wasn't expecting much based on the decor, but the service was very attentive and the food was excellent in presentation and taste.
All you can eat sushi, sake and japanese food. Price is very reasonable. Some of the non-sushi dishes were excellent (e.g. Saba Shioyaki). The food is prepared to order. The sushi (nigiri and rolls) was merely ordinary.
We were going to the early Saturday evening performance of Beach Blanket Babylon and saw this restaurant online and decided to try it. It was quite good and we will likely be returning.
This is a great all you can eat sushi place that you order from a menu. Extremely nice service and the sushi was incredible. Highly recommend!
I've been coming here for years and they've been great. Good sushi, great service, very friendly wait staff. But the last 2 times I've eaten here, the wait staff has been different and there's this head waitress who might even be the manager as she acts like it. She gets your food order and if you even pause to think about your next item, she motions you with her hand to "c'mon, just order". She rushes you, and sometimes she walks away as you're still talking. The last 2 visits I've had to tell her her to stop rushing us as we are thinking about our order. She absolutely ruins the dining experience. It will be awhile before I would think of considering going back. And if she is still there, I would walk out and go to Tony's instead.
Great all-you-can-eat sushi! We couldn't stop eating.
Waited 15 minutes despite having a reservation. Before being seated a couple a head of us were seated at a table for 2. The only table left was a table for 4, before my party of 2 gets seated they couple seated ahead of us gets asked if they want the larger table. After they refuse we get seated. After being seated we are not helped for 20 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.
Once again, OpenTable comes through. Looked through the listings in SF and liked the descriptions of this place. Walked over and while we were hesitant based on how the place looked from the outside, we went in and had a really great meal. They were helpful and very nice to us. Will go back for sure!
I use OpenTable all the time to find great restaurants in cities when I'm traveling. I read that this restaurant was good and that they have all you can eat sushi which I love! My husband and I met up with 2 of our friends and it was such terrible service. We opted for the all you can eat sushi. Our entire dinner lasted 3 hours and I asked 3 different times for a specific type of sushi (Masago) and still never received it. None of the specialty rolls were on the AYCE list and there was a ton of rice compared to the actual fish. We also did not receive several other rolls and nigiri throughout the evening. Maybe if you eat here on a Thursday at 5pm it might be a different story but I would not return here.
It was just ok. Nothing special about their food. Not authentic Japanese food.
We loved the himachi sashimi in particular as well as the red dragon roll and spider roll. The service was excellent, the fish was fresh, tasty and generously portioned. We'd recommend and we will return when back in SF.
