Overall the sushi was presented nicely and tasted good. The restaurant atmosphere has declined significantly since the last time I was there. It looked dingy and the restrooms were dirty. The table was crowded, really too small for our party. The service was ok, perfunctory, but not special.
The service was a little slow and we got rushed out after we ate. Our server seemed more focused on going home or out for the night, than our experience and patronage. She just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, and we felt rushed out!
September 9, 2020: Sushi was great, but the service was so-so and the music was way too loud. All my previous dining experiences here have been much better.
Great service average food
Been going here for years...was great. Friend moved to the hood and took her their as a date. Food remained solid...however...cocktails we’re unobtaineum do to no inventory...only whiskey was clearly watered down Makers...wine list was sad...waited for service and bill for an unappreciative amount of time. We understand the Rona has dampened service abilities but Sushi Hai got just plain lazy on an Aug Friday night. Terrible shame...ya got our money though good for you.
Service less than average. Quality of sushi is lack luster. It’s okay.
Our server, Emily, was very helpful and kind to us! She brought out mochi for our friend’s birthday and was always attentive. I would definitely eat here again!
Will not go back on Sundays! It seems the regular weekend chef is not there. Because their rolls on Sunday are always smaller much smaller than usual, and the quality is poorly made, because they fall apart. Overall, we were very disappointed on Sunday!
Much better quality of products meaning sushi size then previously experienced. Service was great as usual, we love our server, she is consistently very sweet, nice, respectful and helpful. Food was amazing this time, and we wish it will remain consistent for the future as well.
Our server, Emily, was incredible! And the food... the Hailand signature roll just might be the best roll in town!
For some reason they have changed the sizing of the rolls. The price is the same, but they make them significantly smaller, which is very disappointing for regular customers who have been going there for years.
Worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Had to ask our waitress 2-3 times for water before it was brought out and it took us over an hour before we even were able to order. We were never brought pencils to fill in our order either after asking. They automatically charged 20% gratuity and the service did not reflect this whatsoever. Food was great but the service will be the sole reason I do not come back here.
The lobster roll was amazing! Everything was great really!
the best sushi i have found yet in all of denver - and i am from the east coast! order from them minimum once every two weeks, if i dont go in. gotta go to sushi hai!
Great food fun time
Good food, unique rolls. Small wine list. It's nice they do Groupons so often because it makes the price less and some of the rolls are pretty pricey.
Nice food, good service!
Although our table was next to others, we felt comfortable. Kenny was an excellent server. He offered great suggestions and was attentive throughout our dining experience. The food was great. We tried the lobster roll for the first time. Fantastic!
I made a reservation for 8:15 for 2 on Valentine’s Day. I got there and it was extremely overbooked! They wanted us to wait for 45 minutes for our reservation, so we left.
It seemed like they overbooked the restaurant on purpose, when we got their for our 8:00 reservation, they were only then seating people with a 7:30 reservation. Once seated, our appetizers didn't come until an hour after our main dishes came, and then the order was wrong when it eventually did show up. I have been to this restaurant a lot in the past, but this was the first time going in about two years or so, and they must have gone under new management since the last time I went because until this most recent experience, I had never had a bad time at Sushi Hai before.
The food was great, but our server was very disinterested in taking care of us.
Haven't been here in a few years, and it has really changed. I expected better food, especially for the price. They no longer live up to their reputation.
Food was delicious, Las Vegas roll was our favorite. Mussels were outstanding. Super loud, not much for ambiance if you’re looking for that. Service was okay, nothing memorable positive or negative. Would definitely return and try the comedy show. Parking was terrible, plan extra time if you make a reservation.
New favorite sushi spot! The spicy garlic edamame was fantastic. We’ll be back soon!
I've always liked Sushi Hai. It's not too fancy, but it's also not too expensive - I know what I'm getting. (And the Groupon saved me $18!) I don't think I've ever been disappointed. And the server was nice enough to help my with my girlfriend's birthday cake that I brought in.
Pretty good place. Sushi was good, but there reservations need to be fixed to say the comedian is only on Thursday nights and not have OpenTable imply it's every night, plus the booths are not the most comfortable to sit in.
Service was slow and unresponsive. We received the wrong appetizer, but let it go. We had requested vegetarian but received some shrimp... we then asked for recommendations for vegetarian sushi - our server provided some suggestions. It turned out that the sushi recommendation for vegetarian had eel in it... server apologized but that was about it... our drinks were empty most of the time as well.
I take my girlfriend on date night once a week that includes dining somewhere. This might’ve been our worst restaurant experience in the last year or two.
Super average. Not overly expensive but food was meh
Great food and good ambiance
Service and food were just mediocre. I won’t be back to this sushi spot.
Sushi was really good, favorite type was the surf and turf roll.
Sushi Hai has great rolls with a variety of flavor profiles. Good beer variety as well. Everything I’ve ever had here has been good. The room can be a little noisy making conversation challenging but that’s not a deal breaker for me. The food is delish!
We love this restaurant
Birthday celebration... it was great!
Not the best service. Food was pretty good.
Great menu, great service.
We love this restaurant! It’s by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Denver. I get sushi, and my husband gets the lamb chops (they’re amazing!) so everyone is happy. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and we’ll continue to go back.
Birthday dinner that started off great with a fantastic happy hour (price point) that they don’t let you know about unless you ask. Great price on sake! Service wasn’t the strongest and I sat across from the open view of dishwasher washing dirty plates and the dirty plates were stacked high in tubs in plain view of customers. We were so excited to get our sushi and the rice was pure mush. It was like eating fishy oatmeal. Yikes. I’d go back for edamame and sake only and then head somewhere else for dinner.
Food was delicious! Service was good! No complaints!
