Traditional Japanese dishes influenced by Chef Hirabayashi's childhood and experiences in Japan. A diverse list of traditional as well as modern sake is something that will truly be inviting to sake connoisseurs as well as those that are venturing into new things.
Located in Trinity Groves, we offer a vast patio space perfect for good weather.
Excellent lunch and great value! The sushi rolls were delicious and such generous portions.
Met up with some girlfriends for Wednesday dinner, none of us had ever been here. There were only 3 other tables sat. The spicy tuna tower was amazing and fresh, the rolls were pretty good but I WOULD NOT suggest the fried Brie. :/ Service was great, undecided if I’ll go back.
It was very good. We will return to eat there again!
Sushi Bayashi was a bit underwhelming in service, food quality for price, and overall ambience. I am new to Dallas so was looking for a new trendy sushi place to visit and found this online through Trinity Groves. Being a up and coming area, i was expecting more from this location.
The ambience is just ok. I think they were short staffed that evening because the hostess attempted to assist us first and was not very knowledgeable and the waitress finally came over and explained a few things we had questions about. The two were definitely trying and the server was very kind, they just didn’t have enough support.
The restaurant does not have a bartender that I could see - I was hoping to order a craft cocktail. The sushi was overpriced for the quality in my opinion. I was expecting more from a “hot” area like Trinity Groves.
My first time at this restaurant.Highly recommend for a business meal! Nice atmosphere! Food was amazing! Staff was helpful with recommendations.
Great to see a Tanuki and appreciate the Japanese on the menu too! Looking forward to an encore visit
I wanted to not believe the other reviews about the slow service but it was unfortunately true.
Took a long time to get our food. Appetizer never came out. Edamame is not that hard?
Food came out one at a time so we were left there staring at our food waiting, because the rest of the table had nothing.
Never asked or received a drink refill. The waitress was really sweet and kept apologizing, saying the kitchen was really backed up, she even comp-ed my husband’s drink. Really kind.
Another waitress was having a mini breakdown because she couldn’t get any of her orders out & her customers were getting upset. Yet the restaurant was only about 1/3 full and no one was at the sushi bar.
I did notice a lot of “to go” orders leaving the kitchen over and over (like grub hub/UberEats/whatever) with drivers running in to get them, but those of us dining in weren’t getting our food.
Got the ponzu and the fish was cut so thick and in the wrong direction that it was hard to eat. Gross actually, texture wise.
Fried rice had no flavor. We tried to add soy and wasabi to it to give it any taste but it still was bland and tasteless. Didn’t even finish 20% of it.
We left so disappointed and I was embarrassed. I convinced our dinner party that it would be good and I was sure the reviews were wrong. Sadly I was the one who was wrong.
Wonderful birthday dinner at Sushi Bayashi was enhanced by a thoughtful and diligent staff. We were even treated to birthday dessert and made to feel so special. I definitely recommend this place to my friends and everyone loved the food.
Took a couple friend here out to eat during their whole day layover visit. We chose this place since it had the trio combo of sushi, ramen, and curry rice option AND bc it was in the vicinity of CAKE BAR (must go!). We enjoyed our 3 sushi dishes which one had bleu cheese; the guest was impressed by and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also shared sashimi yellowtail that included pickled habenro- paired perfectly. Did the 1/2 salmon 1/2 tuna tower and included crawfish- A TX MUST HAVE (towers). We ordered two curry rice dish and got level 3 spicy - both guys loved this dish along with their frozen sake drinks. However, only fail was there $25 bowl of ramen. You can buy like 3 boxes of ramen with 24 bags in each- that’s 72 bags of ramen. Broth wasn’t flavorful enough. The pork charsu was beautifully charred but the cut was too thick to enjoy. Least favorite item all night. Other than that- area is great. Got to enjoy cake bar and a view of Dallas all in one quick stop.
Inattentive and slow service. Food overpriced for average quality/taste.
Music was a bit too loud. It a cool hip atmosphere. Wait staff was nice. Food was tasty, however way too much ramen in my bowl. I think I had at least 3 portions of ramen, prefer quality over quantity. The pork was a bit tough. Ramen needs a bit more refinement. Otherwise nice presentation and tasted good.
Awesome like always
I love Sushi Bayashi. One of the most authentic venues for sushi in Dallas. Like being in Tokyo almost.
Went with a group of friends and sat outside. Was supper fun!! Had sake bombs left and right, great food and awesome atmosphere :)
We waited 20 minutes and order was never taken. Two girls were looking confused on what to do. It was not extremely busy yet one girl stood at the register for 15 minutes trying to figure out what she should do. The other girl was concentrating on filling water glasses though she didn’t fill ours. Sushi Bayashi is usually our favorite place. I have no idea what happened tonight. We left and went to K’s.
Excellent food and even better service. We will be regulars now!
Great experience and excellent food. Quality was on par with the top Japanese restaurants in Dallas.
By far was the worst experience we’ve had there. Very disappointed.
Very slow service, and the server was inattentive even though it was very slow.
Dumplings were not very good.
No mention of Happy Birthday.
Earlier reviews referenced the price as being a little more expensive than other sushi restaurants in the area. I went with 5 others and they noticed the price but were more focused on the value. Portions were really good, especially with the lunch specials and the fried rice options. We had a great time too!
When we first arrived, we were extremely impressed by the ambience of the outdoor seating. After we were seated, it took about 10 minutes to be greeted by our waitress. After we ordered our food, it took another 50 minutes to get our food. The excuse was that the kitchen was behind, but when we arrived there were only about 10 tables seated. We also only ordered 3 sushi rolls. We saw people who arrived 20 minutes after us receive their food before us. The nice ambience is not worth the terrible service and mediocre food.
The sushi is pretty expensive and it seems like they put avocado in everything. The ramen is excellent and very affordable. Good wine selection, but kind of pricey considering the cost of the ramen. Service was prompt and courteous.
Wonderful food! Spent the evening with friends that had never been & everyone truly enjoyed themselves! Thank you! Will return soon!
Terrible service, all of the staff didn't seem to care that my friend and I had made a reservation, been told to wait even though I had a reservation, and then waited an hour and 15 minutes just to be told it would be another 25 minutes. NEVER GOING AGAIN.
Modern yet informal sushi place, had all the usual expected menu items you’d find at most sushi restaurants. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality of food and service make it a worthwhile place for excellent sushi if you journey out to Trinity Groves.
Very good food, nice atmosphere
Very knowledgeable about Sake and fish. Great recommendations given by our great waitress. Vibe and ambience were very cool and comfortable.
We went during a weekday lunch. While they seemed short staffed with servers, our server was friendly and did a great job. We enjoyed all the lunch specials and thought the portions were generous. Fish was very fresh. Would definitely go back!
My only complaint is that our server did not come around often. And im not the type of person to yell or raise my voice to catch a server’s attention(kinda rude). Other than that, I really like the food, ambiance and all that.
Best sushi I’ve found in Dallas, unique rolls and rare fish that are always fresh!
Excellent! Went with my cousin who lived in Japan for a year and he said it was the beat food he’s had since he left, very authentic! We ordered tons of dishes but the star was the Japanese curry. I didn’t even know that was a thing. But it is delicious! Highly recommend the place for any occasion, staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and food terrific.
Went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not very crowded. Food and atmosphere are great but on our visit, there was only one server so our service was really slow. Took a long time to get a drink order in, and we had to wait a while for them (a beer, glass of wine, and a soda). We received our appetizer with our meals so the flow was not great. I am sure it is a different experience when they have more servers.
We always enjoy Sushi Bayashi and make it a regular destination. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the manager Joseph always greets us warmly and makes our visits more enjoyable.
Took my son for some quality time together. It was amazing. Fresh, yummy..exotic menu with lots of options. We will go back soon!!
This is the best janpanese restaurant in Dallas!!!
...good company and good food.
The overall experience was just OK. The fish was tasteless and the sushi rice was bland. The only differentiator for this restaurant was the opportunity to “create your own tower”. There are too many solid sushi restaurants in Dallas to spend our dollars here. We won’t be back.
Red River Roll, Salmon Tower delicious as always! Ramen and curry also our favorites.
Food was good. Sushi rolls were huge (10 pieces/roll). Service was incredibly slow, then very attentive, then incredibly slow (we sat there and talked for about 45 minutes without anyone coming over to ask if we needed anything), then very attentive again once we flagged someone over to get the bill. Sort of a weird cadence. The atmosphere is good - the wall of 'specials,' however, is huge (spans the entire restaurant) and you can't read the whole thing from your table - I guess I'll never know if I missed anything.
We visited for a friend’s birthday dinner. We ordered 3 appetizers and some sashimi in addition to a boat (2-4 person option) for 4 people. This was plenty of food at a reasonable price. The frozen lychee sake margaritas were perfect on a hot night. They also brought special birthday boat for the birthday lady. Service was quick and friendly.
