It is always lovely to return to SuperNova, and this was the best time ever! Huge thanks to Cesar and all the staff for looking after us so well, and really spoiling us this time! Food was amazing, and the kir royales were non-stop!! Hubby & I can't wait to return soon.
Amazing drink menu. The mint, cucumber, lime mojito was excellent! The food was ok, not great. We shared the cheeseburger and brisket sandwich- both were a bit dry. The waiter tried hard, but there were too many tables for him.
Scenery is great (awesome views and very nice interior). food could be better-menu was a bit basic. Service was bad: brought us one wrong dish, forgot to bring an other dish. After 10 min, when we asked for the dish he had not brought, he picked it up from an other table and brought it to us since he accidentally served it there instead. We had to ask twice for the dessert menu and it was not even busy. If service improves this place would be full.
The food was a bit overpriced but maybe anywhere else with this view would have been as well. We both agreed that the service was great, food was good, and view was amazing. I would love to come when it’s a bit warmer and sit outside with a refreshing cocktail!
The location and view are great. However the service was terrible. The food was okay. It seems like they are more apt to serving drinks and a happy hour crowd vs dinner.
Terrible experience. Despite the bad reviews, we decided to try it - because most were related to the New Year's Eve party being bad and the fact that it was close to our show. Well, bad choice for sure. My friends arrived before I did, and 15 minutes later still had not gotten their ordered drinks. I waited for over 10 minutes before I got up and asked for our waiter (who could not be found) to come take our order. My drink arrived half-way through my appetizer. Terrible. The veggie wraps were good; caesar salad bad (old lettuce, poor quality sauce, chicken fridge cold); pasta was just OK and the lobster mac & cheese terrible. The latter had 2 small pieces of lobster in the entire bowl. It should sell as "essence of lobster." In addition, the server forgot my order and never apologized. As soon as I asked where my food was, as my friends had been served, he just ran to the back. It was clear that my veggie wrap was put together very quickly. The manager was nowhere to be found. Not worth ordering a second drink nor coffee. As soon as we ate our main meal, we left. Never again. Big shame - it's a nice space with a great view.
Delightful surprise! Needed a quick bite pre-theatre. It’s a 2- minute walk from The Broadway Theatre. Menu had something for everyone. Attentive service. And the view! Looking forward to warmer weather to enjoy outdoor seating. A hidden gem. Reservations a must. Really, you can’t sit in Supernova’s small dining area without a reservation. This is my new place for a quiet room with a view!
Totally lackluster service from our waiter. Almost made us late for our show tonight because he never brought our check. After waiting almost 25 minutes, we walked up to register and asked the man who replenished our water and bread to help out, which he did with many apologies.
Restaurante en el recepción del hotel comida mediocre ,algún platillo bueno, magníficas vistas.
Was very excited to bring out-of-town family members to see the fantastic view this restaurant has to offer. We had never been and excited to find a brunch pre-fix menu on the site boasting a wide array of eats and fun. However....this was not the case. The pre-fix no longer exists neither does a proper brunch menu which we found out about after being seated. We were tired and hungry so we stayed put but after the food arrived we wish we had left.
Our food consisted of inedible and extraordinary tiny chicken. Lobster mac-and-cheese that looked like it was from an expired Kraft box then had two tiny pieces of lobster thrown in just to say it was lobster mac-and-cheese.
With its prime location and stellar view of Times Square, you'd think this restaurant wouldn't have gotten it's food from the set of a Madame Tussauds exhibit. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Not even alcohol could have fixed this disaster of a meal.
Needed a fun and casual place to have dinner with my 2 pre-teen granddaughters before seeing a Broadway show. They loved the food and ambience and I thought the service was very accomodating. Great view of Times Square and the location on W. 52nd Street made walking across the street to our show at the August Wilson Theater really quick!
So I went to this location because it is a place that I have heard about a few times. I really liked the atmosphere and the service was beyond exceptional. The view of the city was amazing.
The restaurant was ok, service was definitely lacking. It seemed like there were two servers for the entire restaurant, which was not busy. We waited a long time for our drinks and appetizers, to the point we were worried we wouldn’t be getting them. The drink was the highlight of the meal. The appetizers were nothing special. The salmon carpaccio was slightly fishy tasting, similar to a cheap, mediocre sushi joint. The meatballs were dry and the toast they were placed on was very soggy. The main dishes arrived shortly after the appetizers were cleared. Portion sizes were much smaller than expected. The salmon was a typical lunch size, which was fine for me. It was a touch dry as if it had been sitting. Once the sauce was added, it was overly salty, as if salt were the only form of seasoning. His lobster mac & cheese looked like it should have been a side for the table, not an entree size portion. The side of truffle fries was about the size of a small order from a fast food place. We would have tried dessert, however we had tickets to a show and were concerned that we would not have enough time
As for the restaurant itself, the location and view are great. We did need to ask for directions twice inside the hotel to locate it, as it was not clearly marked and appeared to be part of the much larger bar. Our attire was business casual for the show and we felt a bit over dressed. All in all, the experience was similar to eating at an Applebee’s or Olive Garden with smaller portion sizes, a fraction of the wait staff, and at least twice the price
Supernova wasn't crowded the night we came for dinner because it was early and we were going to a show nearby. We sat by a window overlooking Broadway Times Square and it was a nice view. there's a terrace outside that has a similar view and I can imagine it's popularity when the weather gets warm. I'm sure it's a busy place during prime time. I enjoyed my dinner and would return again.
Views were great. Food was ok waiter was a bit rude.
Arrived early for our reservation and even with loads of empty tables we were asked to wait. When ready to order, the first item we tried to order was not available. Should you not be told when given the menus if sonethzing is not available? Although staff were nice and polite they seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves beside the area they use for placing orders. We ordered appetizers and the mains arrived before we were finished! Is this normal- not anywhere else I’ve ever ate.
Disappointing at best. At initial impression - the atmosphere was interesting. The interest faded quickly when I realized how disorganized the restaurant was. There was no clear place to visit to get seated, and the reserved tables were not clearly marked - so that even with reservations, someone was sitting at our table and had to be moved prior to us being seated.
The chili chicken bites for appetizers were delicious, and by far the best part of the meal. The lobster mac & cheese had maybe two or three pieces of lobster in the whole bowl, and was not made well. The short ribs were actually very good, although nothing to write home about.
Halfway through dinner, another party was seated at the table next to us - or rather - basically on top of us. They were sitting so close to us we could have shared their meals. This was extremely uncomfortable.
We only saw our waiter to place our orders - he never checked in again after that - and never offered us a dessert menu - which, despite dinner, I really wanted to try to cheesecake.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The Brooklyn Diner is around the corner and the food is 100x better.
The view, food, ambiance & service were fantastic & a relief from an over-crowded New York just after Christmas. Altogether a great experience. A particular shout out for the gin martini, French fries & vegetarian fettuccine.
Came for dinner before a show. It was an enjoyable experience but was not a huge fan of the trendy/modern ambiance.
Perfect location overlooking Times Square - good food and reasonable prices
The waiter was one of the least interested I’ve ever had. Once he found out we weren’t drinking, he never came back except to bring the check, even though we needed another bottle of sparkling water, and he just stood near by and continued to service other tables.
There was a Christmas party on the tables closest to the "view" seats. They were loud and not sitting down. We did not have dinner but an appetizer and a glass of wine, very pricey. It was joined to the hotel and we would not go back.
I must say the food was very good. I'm not recommending the restaurant because of the service. The waiters acted as if they were doing you a favor. In fact I would describe them as rude. I would rather spend my money at a restaurant that treated you as a appreciated patron.
Had a great dinner at Supernova! Wonderful view of the city lit up at night. Casual, fun atmosphere.
Thought this would be a nice swanky restaurant but was severely disappointed. It's like a hotel lobby bar. No atmosphere, and a bit cafeteria ish. The website implies its a great trendy place. Ok for a quick snack I suppose, but not if you're looking for a nice evening out. Major disappointment
Great view of Times Square, good food perfect pre or post theater restaurant
I wish I could give this place a positive review, but I cannot. It is a good location right at Broadway and 52nd street, with views south over Times Square. We made our reservation on Open Table about an hour before our scheduled time. We were staying in the same hotel, so this was convenient. When we arrived at the restaurant the host told us he had no room. I pointed out we had a reservation, and he said he could not honor it, accusing me of using Open Table to get around their reservation list, and being very argumentative. I was insistent, he was in a huff, but after a short wait he gave us a table. The table service by our waiter was not particularly friendly, but our drinks and food arrived promptly. It was only adequate, not good or great. One of our party ordered the lump crab cake, and it was dry and flavorless. The Caesar salad was good. The short ribs were overcooked, obviously prepared far in advance. For an upscale Times Square NYC restaurant the prices were reasonable, but why bother when the food is barely mediocre.
We booked thru Open Table and were able to receive the time we requested. We even arrived early and were seated right away! I had requested a window seat and we were given the best seat in the house as far as I was concerned! The staff was very polite and gave us ample time to order and eat . The view was amazing! The weather was great 12.2.2017 so we were able to venture outside and took some nice candid shots ! Will def. be back!
The food was oh kay. But the view and the outstanding accommodations from the staff made it totally worth it. We were in the city for the Macy’s parade and this is a wonderful place to enjoy the magic of Times Square!
Great restaurant. Good food and atmosphere. I love the balcony.
Nice setting. Food good enough. Service needs improvement and consistency.
Conenient place to eat before/after Broadway shows. Great burgers and fries.
I had the lobster rolls, which were delicious. Another had a Caesar salad which had large sliced of anchovies which were unpleasant and very unusual. Another had the steak, which was undercooked. My husband had the burger and he said it was pretty good. Overall the service was poor. Views are great and convenient to theaters.
Great restaurant with the view to die for, amazing service and food
Service was good, menu is mostly comfort food, didn't have lot's of GF choices, and menu is limited. Although what we had was good, my lobster Mac'n cheese could have had more lobster, my daughter had veggie stew which was very good but she was still hungry after eatting it as the portions were too small. Best thing about this place is the view, go for cocktails and weather permitting sit outside, unfortunely you cannot dine outside. My husband had a burger and my grandaughter had a pasta dish, they both liked theirs as well.
Nice views, went before a show - nice dinner with family
This has been a favorite spot for many years. I like the new menu. The view is the best in town.
