We sat outside. It was a lovely evening. Our waitress was busy yet her service was great, very personable. We originally had reservations for 4 and our turnout was 5. We didn't have to wait, it was not a problem. The food was tasty. Our table split crawfish mac n cheese which was ok. Two people had the crab bisque, which was rich and creamy and filled with good stuff. Several people shared a beet salad, which was a big hit. Also at our table we had burgers, pork po'boy, chicken Monica and scallops. We did have to wait on bread in the beginning and the whipped potatoes with the chicken were pastey. Oh and dessert was delish. Our table split a flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a huge brick of carrot cake. Overall a hit. We'll be back.
I had the Shrimp and zgrits and the taste was amazing!
We went for happy hour and it was amazing! We each got a dozen raw oysters and a glass of wine for $9.00 a person! We then split a po-boy and they were kind enough to split the sandwich and the side in the kitchen before it came out to our table. The food was wonderful and the server was great! I've already been telling everyone you need to take the street car to this restaurant, it is so worth it!
Definitely make a reservation! This place would have gotten 5 stars across the board, except our oyster appetizer order took forever to come to our table. However, once we guys got them, they were worth it! Great food. Great service.
A most favorite restaurant of mine in NOLA! Great food and service, reasonably priced and very consistent. Great job, Bob, Phil & John Michael!!
Great service. Excellent service! Fabulous beverages
Obnoxiously loud. Ho hum food. Overpriced wines.
Everything was great except the service could have been better
Both the food and the service were excellent. My wife and I had different shrimp pasta dishes and both were very good. I would recommend having reservations. We were there on a Tuesday evening and the place was full.
I was solo for dinner, a night of freedom while friends attended Wrestlemania. The food was amazing. The service was on point, being how I was by myself. I have been telling everyone that I had one of the best meals of my life here. Can not wait to go back next time in NOLA.
Nice restaurant with great service in the Garden District of New Orleans. Was definitely worth the trip from the French Quarter where I was staying. Excellent local oysters and delish shrimp dinner. I would surely keep it on the “A” list for my next visit to the “Big Easy.”
We wanted to get some chargrilled oysters and we picked this restaurant, not only were the oysters great but the service, drinks and atmosphere were awesome !
Loved the char-grilled oysters! We got to sit in the side area away from most of the noise - although having a piano playing is hardly noise. Easy, immediate seating.
Went here after reading reviews, we were not disappointed. Mark our server was great, enjoyable meal reasonably priced.
Sunday brunch, menu was varied, music lively and service excellent.
Always fun to eat here and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Especially loved the frozen pomegranate mojito and pecan-crusted drum! Our server was overwhelmed with too many tables so service wasn't great, but he was very friendly and did his best to come by as often as he could. Overall, I love this place and always bring friends and family here when they come into town to visit.
We chose this restaurant for dinner on one of the two nights we spent in New Orleans, and we were very pleased that we did. The food was excellent, and the service efficient and friendly.
Our only problem was the difficulty in holding a conversation, as the noise level was high.
Despite that we totally enjoyed the evening, which we were sharing with a granddaughter studying at Tulane whose friends had suggested it.
One of the best seafood places I have ever eaten at! The restaurant was quiet and the server was attentive and immediate! Not to mention, the alligator bites, crawfish mac/cheese, and the chicken biscuits were to die for. I wish there was one in my hometown. Everyone needs to try Superior Seafood!
Food was excellent
Service was excellent
Very noisy but tolerable
Price was very fair
Food was very mediocre. Sorry we went there with all the great choices in NOLA!
waitress very nice, it gets very crowded and they are moving non stop! Fish dishes are always great!
Always amazing!
We were in town for a wedding and came with family. Our server was friendly and helpful and everyone loved their meal! Great cocktails and draft beer. The scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp are to die for!
Just Great!
Table for 8 ready on time. Service was good and Good excellent. Will go back.
We had an amazing time! Our waiter Mark was fantastic! We live in South Florida, we know and love seafood.... that said, this was the best meal we’ve had in a long time! Started with a dozen oysters, crab stuffed mushrooms and a shrimp cocktail. The oysters were huge, fresh and delicious. The mushrooms were great, could’ve used a little more crab in the stuffing, but nothing to really complain about. The shrimp cocktail also delicious. They were peel and eat and gigantic. We had the scallops and the pasta del mer as our entrees. Both were delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly. We celebrated a birthday and without a hitch the birthday carrot cake was on the table along with a great candle and a song actually sung with a smile. The cake was so good! I wish they had a location near us in Florida! We sat on the patio and the noise level, temperature and views were great! Overall a perfect evening!
Very noisy bustling restaurant.
Good helpful waiter but a bit too noisy for my taste
We wanted a good seafood place for our last meal before leaving NOLA and didn't want to fight the crowds in the Quarter so picked this place. Good choice. Not only is the building a nice old place but the food was very good. Stuffed mushrooms could have used more crab, but the fish of the night - drum- was excellent as were the vegetables that came along. And unlike most NOLA places, a salad was included! Good food for reasonable prices and we got the local fish we were seeking.
Delish lunch and amazing drinks! Frozen French 75s after a hot morning tour were perfect!!
It was Easter so very busy. Service was good but food took a long time, kitchen had trouble keeping up with the volume of people. Cocktails were so so. Blackened catfish with ettoufe sauce was excellent as was a seafood pasta. The drum fish was average. When making reservation we noted it was a bday celebration and no acknowledgement was made to the fact.
We were really looking forward to our meal at Superior Seafood but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We initially had to ask someone to help us after sitting at the table for over 10 minutes watching servers go by with no acknowledgment of us. When we were helped the server seemed irritated and didn't bother to talk to us about specials, happy hour, etc. When we received our food one entrée was missing the side item and the oysters were extremely gritty. Not the expected occasional piece of shell but covered in grit where we had to scrape them off to eat. It just wasn't a great meal and in a city with so many exceptional restaurants I wouldn't bother wasting a meal here.
We are from California and my brother told us about you. We went on a Friday and Loved it so much we came back for Sunday brunch. Thank you for the great service from your bartenders and to our food waitress.
Love the valet parking. Reasonable prices. Very good drinks. Tasty dishes.
It was Easter Sunday and a busy day at Superior Seafood. We had a reservation but were a little early so our table wasn't quite ready but they accommodated us very quickly and the service was fine with no lags and our server was very friendly and patient. The food is always good and we were all happy with our choices.
Food was delicious but food service was extremely slow and place was way too noisy-could not carry on a conversation.
Always try to stop in at Superior Seafood. Amazing brunch. We were there on Easter Sunday. Service was a bit slow, but that’s expected on a busy day. Best oysters in town and always enjoy the crawfish cornbread.
The shrimp and grits was amazing! The steak and eggs dish was good but the steak was a little overcooked. Overall the food was really really good. We will be back!!!!
There are so many things I like about this restaurant. Let’s start with Valet parking. Easy breezy and free but of course tip! Service is very good and friendly. I especially like their salmon salad but it all looks yummy. Good for locals and visitors!
Service was not very good. We were a party of 2 that got sat in a section where our waitress also had a party of 12. However, our drinks took 10-15min to get to us from the bar. We didn’t get any bread before our meal when we saw other tables with it. Our entrees were served before we ever got our salads. Ordered a glass of wine and it was severely under poured. Blackened catfish came with crawfish etouffe but had trouble finding the crawfish. I haven’t had this bad of service here before so maybe it was just bad luck.
"Superior" is not just their name. Everything about this restaurant is superior. My 2nd time to visit and it will be a mandatory stop every time I am in New Orleans.
