Situated directly on the St. Charles streetcar line (stop number 24), on the corner of St. Charles and Napoleon Avenues, the restaurant offers a front row seat to all the beautiful sights and sounds New Orleans has to offer. The menu offers something for every taste, with items ranging from po-boys to seared scallops, and many in between.
For your convenience, complimentary valet service is available evenings and weekends.
Came in for brunch with group. The live band was lit and added to the overall wonderful experience. Food is super tasty.
Had a great meal at Superior Seafood. Service was great in a very relaxed atmosphere. This restaurant was recommend by my daughter and met my expectations.
I’m a regular at Superior Seafood, and I always take out-of-town guests here - the happy hour 50 cent oysters, half off house wines, and discounted frozen drinks deal is the best in town. Plus, the service has always been excellent and the regular-priced menu options are really reasonable (and delicious) for a classic New Orleans dining experience.
Today our waiter was excellent - I’m sorry that I didn’t catch his name to give him a shoutout. I have only 2 very minor complaints: 1.) our salads came out after our entrees, so there was a long gap between our appetizer and the rest of our meal and 2.) my blackened fish came with crawfish risotto, which lacked flavor and also seemed disproportionately small compared to my portion of fish. Otherwise, everything was great, and my dad and sister cleaned their plates and loved it!
Great food & service. The atmosphere is really good as well
Very nice casual restaurant with excellent food. Located on the St. Charles streetcar line away from the central and French quarters.
We usually really enjoy this restaurant, but our Mothers Day dinner ( we should have known) was plagued by poor service and a kitchen that was overwhelmed.
Over 30 minutes to get our drinks and food arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes after we arrived. And our order was full of minor but irritating mistakes, items not included, one dinner not delivered at all. Our server was very nice but probably a brand new hire. The manager noticed our dilemma and gave us a nice discount on the meal.
We will return, but first for a mid week lunch that should have our usual excellent experience.
Holidays are difficult for any restaurant. Management made the difference in our future return. A very pleasant atmosphere, a French bistro type of decor, attractive and well located. Just avoid major days of celebration!
My trout amandine was the best I’ve had, great taste and texture. Our server was excellent- attentive without being intrusive, and knowledgeable. The raw oysters were excellent.
Great food! Nice place to go to celebrate. The place was crowed because of Mothers day, but service was great.
Our waiter Christopher was excellent and made sure that I had an special Mother's Day.
Probably because of Mother’s Day but it was extremely loud, slow service and food was small portions. The one good thing was the frozen mimosas.
The food is absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic as well. I look forward to coming back for lunch or dinner.
Disappointed in service and food quality. We come here every year for Mother's Day (and numerous other occasions) and each year it has deteriorated. Both I & my wife's orders were incorrect which is becoming a common occurrence.
My party of 10 arrived 1.5 hours before our reservation therefore we understood there would be a wait. The problem was we watched an empty table (larger enough for 10) sit empty the entire 1.5 hours when asked if the empty table was ours and if so could we be seated we were informed that yes the table was ours however the waitress was in the bathroom preparing for us. Upon being seated we waited over an hour for bread (had to remind the waitress 3 times) and 2 hours for our entree's and to top it off all meals were barely warm when the arrived to the table. When spending over $600 for meals one expects and should receive better service and food.
This place was amazing. We were in from out of town. It was the best seafood I have ever eaten.
Disappointed, this wss my frist time and will be my last time. We ordered raw oysters and a oyster platter. The platter arrived 5 minutes after we ordered and before the raw oysters came.
Thr platter was cold, the oyster were smaller than a quarter. The french fries were cold and greasy. I sent it back only to receive the order back again the same.
I insisted on another order. Our experience was horrible. Nothing good to say.
Great food and excellent service. A little loud but otherwise a fun night out!
Great service and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the happy hour drink special as well!
Food was not great. The 3 shrimp andouille brochettes were small and burnt. The sauce on the blackened fish Napolean was watered down. The strawberry fields salad lacked taste. The hostess was also not friendly and clearly didn’t want to be there. Our server was nice and the overall atmosphere was good, but we won’t be going back for another try.
Ridiculous that Superior Seafood doesn't have a second person at the desk welcoming people and seating people. The woman working there the night we were there was literally RUNNING to seat people and come back to her station. It was a mad house . . . .
Excellent! Top five eating experience ever in New Orleans!!
We love Superior Seafood. In fact we went there twice last weekend. Great oysters.
Part of 3. The tuna ahi salad was excellent. The salmon was very good. The Pasta del Mar was awful, with uninspired pasta sauce, 4 good and fresh mussels and five medium seemingly frozen shrimp as only seafood -- very disappointing dish.
The chargrilled oysters were dry, usually they’re great!
Normally, I’m 5 stars across the board, but the last few times we’ve been here the service has not been great. Not sure what changed, but we’re not having good luck
With our servers. Food is still amazing.
Great food with great prices and superb service from our server Lyndsey.
Slipped incredibly. Server forgot salads.
Escargot lacked garlic. Shrimp brochettes were dry, burnt and inedible. Mussels lacked flavor. Filet was dry and tasteless. Burger was dry and lacked seasoning, served with wilted piece of lettuce and a few onion bits. Frites were soggy - not twice cooked as a quality bistro would.
College frat and sorority hangout. Place to take your parents.
Avoid- too many quality restaurants in New Orleans to put up with this foolishness.
This is THE place to get authentic New Orleans cuisine. Everyone at the table loved their dish! I personally had the Shrimp & Grits and it was phenomenal!
Great place to eat while in NOLA, shrimp and grits were delicious! Waiter was friendly
We often take out of town guests to superior because we believe it is a great New Orleans experience for a restaurant. This was the first time that the service was as slow as it was, but I give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were shorthanded. Just never experienced it like we did this time, but we will definitely be back!
Excellent service and the food was delicious !!
Very good experience with getting a reservation. Friendly ladies at the door waiting to seat you right away.
The food was great and the service was even better. Keghan was our waitress and she was really cool and funny. We had a great time, see you soon! Raw Oysters and Crawfish Cornbread
The food was great but the noise was so overwhelming that it was hard to keep a conversation going and did not add to a nice dinner. Why don't people lower their voices somewhat?
We enjoyed a lovely streetcar ride right to the restaurant and were promptly seated at the time of our reservation. The waiter gave incorrect information, never looked any of us in the eye, was dismissive of my friend's statement that her fish was bad, and interrupted our conversation whenever he came to the table. The cocktails were unimpressive & the wines below par yet priced like better wines.
Our favorite place in New Orleans! The frozen French 75 is amazing and the crawfish cornbread and chargrilled oysters are to die for! We will definitely return every time we're in New Orleans.
Everything great except that window shade that can’t be adjusted as the sun sets (blinding my dinner companion)
Service was excellent and the free valet is great added value for dining experience.
This was recommended to us by our Uber driver. We were very disappointed in the food and the service. Our water glasses had a stinky smell. And our entrées were average at best. The chicken, which was Rebec this was recommended to us by our Uber driver. We were very disappointed in the food and the service. Our water glasses had a stinky smell. And our entrées were average at best. The chicken, which was Recommended by our waiter as being a large portion and delicious, tases like we would get it at a hotel wedding. Frozen broccoli and bland flavors. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. We wish we ordered five of those. Our server was very friendly but he just didn’t feel that he was as attentive as he could’ve been.
Garden district spot when you want to get out of the Quarter or CBD. Busy, casual place. Service is merely adequate in a city in which service is highly valued. Young staff throughout (hostess, waiters, sommelier). Fresh or featured items were good (chargrilled oysters; softshell). Regular menu items were only ok (redfish and risotto). Merely adequate wine and beverage lists. Got the feeling my Open Table reservation placed me squarely in a "social Siberia" table with the college kids. You are out of place with a coat, slacks, sports coat and/or dress.
