Situated directly on the St. Charles streetcar line (stop number 24), on the corner of St. Charles and Napoleon Avenues, the restaurant offers a front row seat to all the beautiful sights and sounds New Orleans has to offer. The menu offers something for every taste, with items ranging from po-boys to seared scallops, and many in between.
For your convenience, complimentary valet service is available evenings and weekends.
Great do guests in town. Food is great but the noise level in the large dining room is almost unbearable if it’s a full crowd!!! It’s quieter on the front “porch area “ facing St Charles ave.
Our waitress that sat us down was really rude and looked like she just rolled out the bed and came to work (with an attitude) , brought us hot water that sat on another table that a guest had just got up from 😒 we asked if they only had brunch and she said yes and that we would have to wait till 3 to get dinner ( it was 2:15 🤦🏽♀️. We were getting ready to leave when another waiter came to our table we explained what happen and i asked him for his assistance . Once he assisted us we were good to go and his service was amazing from the begging to the end .
Great food, great service and great atmosphere!
Excellent Food and great atmosphere. This restaurant is well worth the ride from the French Quarter.
Will patronize again next time I'm in town.
It was a fun night! Great food!
Great food, great drinks, and overall a wonderful timeless experience.
Nice casual atmosphere with a good wait staff and great oysters. Happy hour is a really good deal.
Wonderful server, great food and nice ambiance.
Definitely need a reservation for this place on the weekends which thankfully we did so we got seated right away. Our waiter provided us with great service with being attentive and giving us good food options. You can’t go wrong with getting their crawfish Mac and cheese as a starter. Oh, and the fresh bread and butter that is brought to your table is amazing! As entrees we got the shrimp and grits and pecan crusted drum, both were excellent. The ambience was great and we will definitely be going back.
This is a great choice for an introduction to New Orleans style seafood away from the crush of the French Quarter. Located in the beautiful Uptown District, it is conveniently situated at a stop on the St. Charles Ave Trolly. Try the Char-Grilled Oysters and BBQ Shrimp to start. Add a bottle of wine and continue with Shrimp and Grits, Pan Seared Scallops, or Crusted Drum. Use the freshly made baguette to soak up all of the delicious nectar of the sauces served with each dish. This is heaven on a plate. You will not be disappointed. This can be a lively venue. Make a reservation and request seating away from the bar if you wish to have a quiet chat. Management is open to requests and the staff is very friendly. We received some great recommendations for other places to dine from our server and discovered restaurants that we would have missed without her candor.
Too noisy, .... food OK but nothing to rave about. There are better choices than Superior Seafood.
Parents weekend dinner with my son and his friends
We had a great experience at Superior Seafood. It’s a fun atmosphere. It feels like you’re transported to the late 1880’s. The gumbo and crab bisque were both excellent.
The shrimp PO boy was filled with shrimp. The hangover potatoes, with roasted potatoes, brisket and gravy with fried egg on top was hearty. The salads were covered with large blackened shrimp cooked perfectly. I highly recommend going to superior.
Great food and energizing atmosphere! Next time in New Orleans we will come back!
Great venue! Definitely book ahead of time. Valet parking useful.
Very very slow service
Server did not know the menu
Food and drinks were great, service good. I would definitely recommend making reservations. Thank goodness we did. I heard them saying to walk-ins that there was an hour wait, but we made reservations and were seated immediately!
Can’t beat the $.50 oysters at Happy Hour. Even with a reservation we had to wait and remind hostess we were there. Waiter was not great. Inattentive and overcharged for a couple of things, only one of which I caught.
But the oysters were fresh, ice cold and delicious.
The menu was fantastic! Servers were excellent!! The food was delicious!!! Can’t wait for my next visit to Superior Seafood. It’s top on my list!!
Friendly staff and amazing food! Do not miss the crawfish cornbread.
Great food, great service.
Phenomenal meal again!! Dined on grilled oysters, Seafood risotto, red fish and bacon wrapped shrimp. Delicious! Attentive waiter even though restaurant was PACKED with parents weekend and homecoming. Always worth the stop at this beautiful restaurant.
Wonderful experience! Make sure you offer the Char Grilled Oysters! Absolutely delicious.
The food and service are very good. My only issue is the music is too loud.
The food was great, but unfortunately didn’t have the best server.
Way too loud to have a conversation. Food was good
Great happy hour with 50 cent oysters, 2 for 1 frozen drinks and 3 dollar beer. Happy is everyday, so I usually go there on Sunday afternoons. You should try this place out at least once
The ambiance was really nice. It was my birthday and I loved the sparkler. The food was okay. I got a salmon salad and it didn't have any dressing on it so that was strange but I asked for some and it ended up really good.
Took my son and 5 of his friends out to celebrate his 21st. Very disappointing birthday celebration for my 21 year old son. The waitress took 10 minutes to even acknowledge us and it was downhill from there. The waitress was also taking care of a table of 17 teenagers (individual checks). I had to flag her or another waiter down anytime we needed anything. Had to wait 30 min for my standard cocktail. Then they brought out the dessert and forgot the sparkler.
I’m not much of a complainer but I was very disappointed after all the great things I heard about this restaurant
Very authentic and fun place to dine in New Orleans.
Awesome restaurant with great seafood choices! We had lunch and it was a beautiful day!
I ordered scallops and they were cold. Very loud hard to hear people you are with
good food and service, great happy hour items. full house, so was a bit loud, but we enjoyed it for sure.
Definitely go during happy hour, which is from 4-6:30. $.50 oysters and half price drinks! It is loud and packed, but a very nice restaurant, and I'm not sure you can even find quiet in new Orleans 😉 lol.
We made a special detour to New Orleans just to eat at this restaurant. We have been going there for years and it is always the best seafood in New Orleans and especially for the price. Their happy hour oysters are unbelievable! The service and atmosphere is always friendly and fun. We try a different dish every time and have never been disappointed-everything is always seasoned so well and top-quality.
Great variety of seafood. Everything we ordered was delicious. Friendly, attentive service. Popular spot.
Poor service. Or should I say discriminatory service? Other tables right by ours had a certainly different treatment.
We LOVE this place. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!!
Great! Will visit again
