I've come here for dinner and it was so excellent that I have dreams about coming back. I went back for my birthday with 10 girls for brunch. Not only was the food amazing, but they also have us complimentary pastries. The ginger mimosa is to die for. I can't wait to come back.

The food here was exceptional. We sat at our table about 10 minutes before being greeted by our server. Our server was mostly talking to other servers throughout the night but not really paying attention to tables except on an occassional basis. Had to motion him to come over to take our orders for drinks and food. Not good! However, made up by the fact that the food here is really really good.

Got their early evening due to another later commitment. We were one of the first to eat and as a result, we received individualized attention from the entire wait staff and the chefs. They even changed their music in the background to accommodate our taste. The food was fantastic as usual and the service extraordinary, if only because we were one of the only tables there. But, can't say enough about the food. Small plates but that afforded us the ability to try lots of things on the menu. The scallops were a favorite but so too was the fluke which was so light it almost served as mid meal palet cleanser. Loved the meatballs as well, and my companion thought the octopus was fantastic. All in all, a great meal.

I love how different the food is!! It is one of those places where know know that anything you order is going to be good. One of my personal favorites is the crispy brussels sprouts in dashi broth as well as the meatballs. I love going with one other person and doing shared plates then you get a taste for everything!

Smaller portions, a bit more chi-chi than the approachable sister restaurant Food& Bread but taste was decent, 7/10. Pastas are pretty large sizes as well as the kale salad, otherwise portions are quite small. Not small as in not enough to sufficiently feed a person however, sold as sharing plates they aren't enough for 3 people to get a good enough taste. Being in the business, I know food costs and they could size up 15-25% and still make the profit. Would love a larger wine list as well although props for interesting bottles. Service-wise, staff seemed uninterested in helping our party of 5 even at 30% full. Our particular waiter warmed up to us, but could use some more lessons on the wine list. Saw the chef drinking wine, from a glass, on the line. Cool and probably well-needed in my experience, but I'm not sure the best thing for an open kitchen that early in the night. Even for safety's sake. Overall I'd return for a glass of wine and to share a pasta because it's in the 'hood, but I'd rather eat at F&B.

I have been following superba on Instagram for a while, and I live out of town so was so excited to finally go! I had high expectations, and the food blew me away. Everything had great flavor, and was easy to share. The desserts were fabulous as well.

We came here for Father's Day, but the food wasn't great. Several dishes came out cold first of all. Second, we ordered the crab hash and not only were the potatos cold and not fully cooked through, but there was really no crab in the dish. The carbonara had no pancetta and the brussel sprouts were served in liquid when they were supposed to be crispy. Overall pretty disappointed and not worth the over $100 we spent for 3 people.

Best carbonara I've ever had! The pasta had such great texture. And don't skip the banana pie - it's like a cross between banana pie and an ice cream bar.

The food is sublime. The tastes and combinations of flavors and textures. I eat the food here as slow as I drink a wonderful glass of wine. Each bite filled my palette from the front to the back. I just wish the music was better. The strong almost techno beat music distracted from the subtlety of the flavors. I wish their taste in music was a refined as the tastes in their food. I will go back because of the food, not the atmosphere.

This is now my go to place on the West side. I was in love with Scopa on Washington but the noise level pushed me out. Adventurous menus are common to both.but I am a vegetarian and find I have more choices at Supera on Rose. I love their pastas and I am hooked on their Black Kale Salad. Their s'mores dessert is delicious and fun. Nice wine list too.
Negative is that they have these silly pre school looking stools to sit on through most of the restaurant. Every time I'm there I hear someone ask for a real chair or to sit on their limited bench seating. Also get some decaf coffee. What is it with both Superba locations? No room for decaf at the coffeemaker I've been told. really? Just get it and you will be my very favorite place instead of just my favorite

One of the best restuarnats is Venice. The food is inventive and tasty. Fun atmosphere. Service is casual, but good. Great place to share dishes, as there are lots of things on the menu worht trying.

I love this place. For some reason it does not bring the crowds in like the rest of the restaurants on this block which is okay by me. The food is delicious and always seems to rotate seasonally and what is fresh and available locally. The service is always great, food comes out hot and fast and there is always something new to discover on the menu.

Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list and provided a great recommendation. The food was amazing and we ordered 5 small plates and finished with an amazing desert. There were so many things I wanted to try that I have to come back. Good spot for a group of 5 or 6 people where you can share a bite of each item.

We were recommended this spot as a top favorite in Santa Monica so expectations were high. We were not dissappointed!

Our server was sweet and friendly. Atmosphere was casual but trendy and fun. I took my teenaged girls and they loved it too. We went for a late breakfast. The french toast (brioche I should say) was the best ever had. Girls had scrambled eggs. They didn't love the bacon, it was thicker and squishier then they were used to. Everything else was amazing.

Would definitely return and recommend it to a friend! Looking forward to trying lunch and dinner menus as well.

I went here with a friend while visiting Venice Beach on vacation. It was raining outside, so the patio was covered; it seems like maybe the restaurant is open in front, so that there is a large open space for the patio/restaurant, which would be really cool (if it weren't raining). Nice ambiance and layout, if I lived in LA I can see hanging out at this restaurant for late night drinks with friends. Our server was very good, very friendly. Overall I really liked this restaurant. I ordered the cauliflower steak, my friend had the gnocchi, and we shared the pork belly pb & j appetizer. The cauliflower steak was delicious, but I've had dishes like this before, so I knew I would like it. I was really excited to try the pork belly pb & j. It was okay, the meat wasn't really what I had imagined--not as flavorful as other pork belly I've had. My friend's gnocchi was really salty, so it was hard to tell whether it was good or not. I would definitely try this place again because I loved the lighting (low lighting/dark) and ambiance and the patio seemed like it would be really nice when it's not raining, but I would try ordering something else.

Why accept the reservation if you're going to tell me when you need the table back. How rude, classless, tacky! I almost did an about turn out the door but I was with guests. The restaurant is really good despite having an employee that clearly does not belong in the service industry.

This use to be our favorite place to eat.... Not any more! The phone staff and hosts have become extremely rude and not friendly. they have become very demanding and pretentious. The servers are no longer as knowledgeable or helpful as they once were. Even the food is now in consistant. Even our server stated that the food is better , " depending on who is in the kitchen". There are lots of great "consistant" places on Abbott Kinney to go to, so I will go there instead. And I do agree with everyone about the terribly uncomfortable seating Too bad they got caught up in the hype and forgot what got them noticed in the first place, plus the owners won't care about the reviews anyway

First, the "bad": Superba's seating is awkward and uncomfortable...but seems to go with the place's pseudo-gastropub vibe. The service is good but also simultaneously aloof and invasive. And parking in the area is always a challenge. All of those minor frustrations aside, Superba also boasts some the tastiest grub in all of Los Angeles. I've tried almost everything on the menu and NONE of it is disappointing. It's ALL great. Seriously, you can't wrong with this menu. A night for two there can end up a little on the pricey side, especially if you start getting lost in multiple glasses of wine but overall, it's certainly worth the minor complaints. Very recommended!

now I have come twice. My first time every dish I had was superb! They got progressively better too! However, the seating was very uncomfortable. My girlfriend and I say the tall tables in the back against the wall, there was very little room, and the seats really felt uncomfortavle, it was noticeable throughout the dinner. Had to ask someone for a shin to fix the table, too much bad attention on the seating.

Second time I brought a foodie friend for his birthday. Got similar dishes but wanted to explore some new ones. The brumata tasted good but the presentation was shockingly amature. It should not be in a deep bowl, and the bred shouldn't be little croutons. We didn't know how to eat it, spoon, fork, knife, needing both to cut up the cheese.... Too confusing, it should be a crostini well balanced and prepared for you... Not a cereal bowl or weird cheese salad...

Brussel sprouts are King , I dream of that broth!

Room way too cold, pasta too salty and cold. On a cold night a restaurant should be cozy and warm, not cold and drafty. Far too many customers eating in jackets!

I like small plates and sharing, but difficult when the food includes items difficult to share among 4 people like eggs Benedict and while you might wish to order dishes not to share, the kitchen will send out only one dish at a time. So, I eat mine, then your dish comes and you eat yours.... The cauliflower t-bone was very good. The server was excellent..

California cuisine can be many things in practice. Superba has its own twist on unusual ingredient combinations that change frequently. Although difficult to pin down almost everything is great. That's why it's called Superba

This is mainly a place for foodies. It has a bit of west side hipster feel with an eclectic decor. The food is artistic and creative all served tapas style. While I did enjoy it, the portions are small and a bit pricey. For a party of two you will need to order at least 4 dishes if not more. We did 4 and spent $90 which included tax and tip. But we not order drinks. Just want to set some parameters. We actually left still feeling a bit hungry so we headed over to in n out to finish the evening. And in case you are wondering, my girlfriend and I are thin people. We don't gorge ourselves at dinner. Enjoy

The food is "superba". Try the smoked bucatini carbonara with poached egg on top and/or the short-rib benedict. The rustic toast with fresh butter and orange marmalade was also incredible. I wasn't a fan of the bacon, much more like ham but it did have great flavor.

Looking forward to the opening of the sister restaurant in El Segundo next spring! Paul Hibler knows how to create beautiful and yummy food.
