All-day Venice spot Superba Food + Bread proves that sometimes sequels are better than the original.
Delicious reliable current hip and the perfect urban setting!
The food was not that good and the server was inattentive and somewhat rude/short.
Love this place- great food, casual ambience, very good service, fun soot
We really loved our meal here. Highlights were the roasted carrots, the caccio e peppe (sp?) and the chicken.
Amazing restaurant all the way around! Food is delicious, ambiance is warm and inviting and all the staff is wonderful. Special shout out to our server Cameron, such a great guy!! Cannot say enough good things about this charming and special gem!!
Great! We went with 6 and had an amazing meal!!
Our hostess set the tone for the evening with a very cheery, but not overly chatty, greeting. When we announced this was our first time at Superba, she then asked if we'd like to hear the spiel. We did. It was helpful. The Charred Sourdough Bread starter was the perfect beginning to our meal; comes charred, chunky and really buttery with a big bread knife stuck in it! It makes a huge mess as you dig in, but they clean up after you and it's sooooo good! The ambiance was very chill, family oriented, relaxed, not too noisy, and not snooty. Just well made delicious food in a simple light and airy space. We enjoyed the salmon with pea tendrils, stewed chickpeas, and especially the Brussels sprouts. The only negative about our first visit there, was that a guest as she was leaving fell off the step from the landing in the back corner, a sort of raised platform area where there are several tables. There is no railing or stripping on the stair and she went right down along with her chair. Seems like a hazard that could easily be avoided by a simple railing or divider of some kind. But overall our experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely go back. At the moment Superba is my second fave restaurant on the Westside!
My ahi tuna was over cooked.
Friends sandwich was dripping in oil!!!
One of the best meals I have had in LA. Very fresh, flavorful and delicious dishes. Excellent service.
As always Superba, breakfast, lunch, dinner great, however yesterday our server was somewhat slow in bringing the coffee after the food and never came to check back, I had to flag him down for a refill, maybe just an off am for the server, will be back soon.
We dine here frequently and so enjoy it. BTW sorry for the glitch this am, actually my friends arrived earlier and failed to give my name for the reservation so in reality I did keep my original 9:15 am table for 3 but since they arrived earlier they were seated. Consistently great food and local charm. Highly recommend!
Superba is our go-to for every occasion, from spontaneous dinner or lunch plans with a friend or a big birthday dinner. The menu has options so it's easy to accommodate every type of eater without special order. Nice wine list. Nice crowd. Lots of regulars, lots of neighbors. Beautiful design. Outdoor patio seating when it's warm enough. You can't really go wrong and it never disappoints.
What a pleasant surprise. In an area where strip malls and fast food dominate, this is quite a gem. Rare tuna salad was excellent, as was their walnut-chocolate-chip cookie. Attentive service, too. I will return.
Great dinner pasta/skirt steak and starters with an amazing Syrah and lovely charred bread. Yum yum. Will be back. Will also try the breakfast—maybe mañana?
Tomato soup and grilled cheese was absolutely delicious! Love the way it was extra crispy and crunchy - piping hot, too! Soup could have been hotter. Really good iced tea!
My husband thought the chicken had the texture of a pre-formed patty type of thing, which he didn’t like as much as he would have, were it a real piece of chicken. Thank you!!
Food was truly phenomenal — perfectly spiced, graciously accommodating to our dietary needs. Staff was friendly, vibe picked up significantly as the place filled up and the jovial crowd ate and enjoyed.
I like the soft lighting and calm decor in this location. Bread is to die for. Servers were attentive, but not overbearing. I wish they had a few more menu choices or a local special of the day.
Casual friendly place with interesting food choices (I had lamb ribs, not rib chops, ribs).
Two caveats: Though the bakery has fabulous bread, bread is served only on request and only grilled. Second, the corkage is $30, a price out of proportion to the food costs and to the wine prices.
We love everything about Superba - food, service, ambience!
First of all- the charred bread?? Confection- do not miss it! Remember- this is a bakery, among other things! And bring home a loaf- or 3!!
We had the fried cauliflower, which was more like tempura veggies- which are great. Wish the aioli dipping sauce was lighter- it tasted most like tartar sauce. Burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. Compared to the charred bread- the brioche roll was nothing to write home about. The chocolate dessert was also yummy. Delicious Chardonnay helpful wait staff and definitely good value- very enjoyable evening.
Lit- super lit
Had an excellent meal. Now that we have enjoyed brunch, Lunch and dinner at Superba in Venice we can say this is one of the best restaurants in LA county. The King Salmon, Brussel sprouts were incredibly tasty, the deserts, bread and pastries are fantastic. If you are a foodie, you have to check this one out and enjoy!!!!
Local Venice restaurant that is always crowded and noisy. Terrific choices, many to share, that are tasty, well-made and delicious.
Excellent food, large portions and a delightful family style experience. Staff were attentive and friendly and the overall vibe perfect. Highly recommend.
Good food and the service was excellent.
SALTY food. Ate here once before and loved it - food, venue, vibe (i.e., not jam packed and noisy). All that is gone now - what happened?
love this place! spectacular breads and pastries and dog friendly too! eating bread i brought home from there now!
Family get together
Food was delicious and interesting and the service was friendly and efficient.
This was one of my best dinners in a very long time.
Superba is my new favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. In the neighborhood, better than Rose Cafe, Gjelina and comparable to, but more casual than, the old Joe's in Venice. I travel to LA frequently for work and to see my daughter, and both my daughters both recommended it highly. We shared black kale salad--great; cacio & pepe--greater; and the roast chicken--greatest. May be the best roast chicken I have ever eaten (devoured). Topped it all off with chocolate/mocha budino--unctuous! Plus a star of one of my favorite movies at the next table.
Third time back in a month after not having been in over a year. What a difference! Menu is great and everything is beautifully prepared and executed. Casual, friendly and delicious. Perfect.
Fantastic experience - we shared plates, and can highly recommend the crispy cod, Brussels sprouts and the short ribs (sooo tender). The waiting staff were all friendly and attentive, even though we were the worst kind of indecisive! A great dinner was had by all.
Been there many times, this was the worst dinner.
Overly salted salad dressing.. Bread doused in butter, which ruined the bread.
Took close to half hour to get the food. My friend ordered fish and she felt it was
a child's portion.. not great. Will only recommend to a non-foodie.
Good food. Good location. Good vibes. Not so good service. Get the toast.
New chef is great . Much better menu, execution and presentation than when they first opened.
Pleasant and great food. One suggestion is the cushions on the concreate bench seating are not very comfortable. Too thin.
The food was exceptional as well as our waiter who had fantastic recommendations. We even took home some pastries at the end of the night.
They had run out of burgers, so some of the table didn’t have their meals right away. However, the waiter was very good and gave us two dishes on the House.
Excellent food! We would return over all other restaurants we visited in LA.
