I won’t go back
Great place for either a date-night or a family dinner. The food was great and the service excellent. Extensive wine list gives you plenty to choose from. If you're looking for some good old fashion jazz/blues, then come here either Fri. or Sat. Chauncy and the band are awesome!
The steaks that we ordered were delicious once they were actually cooked as ordered (nothing fancy, just medium). Apparently, gift cards are considered promotional offers, so we were not allowed to use ours in conjunction with a special that they had for the night. The waitress insisted that there was nothing she could do about it, but after some discussion she resolved this problem. Afterwards, I could hear her complaining to her coworkers (at the bar, not in the kitchen) about this intervention. Talk about horrible service. I would only get my food to-go next time if I ever returned (if I ever do).
We were visiting the area and thought this would be a nice place for a good dinner. Service was rushed - didn't get to finish the appetizer before the main course came out. I ordered Alfredo and I have gotten better sauce out of a jar. The tortellini was tasteless, overcooked and straight out of my grocers freezer. The espresso machine was broken so i ordered a coffee. They had challenges with that too as the coffee was burnt. A real disappointment
Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Our dessert was not bad. Otherwise, our experience was not a good one. Each of our Italian entrees (chicken w/artichokes; veal saltimbocca) was covered with the same nearly tasteless, watery brown sauce. Steakhouses still have to do other entrees as well as they do the steaks (don't know if they are any good--but reviews had mentioned them favorably). With so many other good restaurants around, we won't be returning.
The food was very good and the portion was not disappointed. However, be mindful that side orders are not included with entree selections and have to be purchased seperately. Given the price of the meal, one would expect at least one side order to be included.
No waiting; excellent waitress; superb food; great ambiance.
We went for our anniversary and really enjoyed the service, food and environment. After dinner we headed to a warm, home felt basement. We played pool and enjoyed spirits. We ended by joining the customers upstairs at the bar for kareoke! Definitely would return.
All of the food was premade and/or microwaved. For those prices everything should be made fresh. probably will never go back.
Supano's is always fun and the food and service are very good. Their lasagna really is one of the best in Baltimore.
I went there randomly on a Thursday night and low and behold they have KAROAKE!!!! It was super fun, the crowd was amazing, and of COURSE the steak was cooked 2 perfection!!!
It's pretty loud here but the night that my date and I came in they had live singers singing classic music (Frank Sinatra, etc.) The service was wonderful and the overall experience good!
we were seated with menues at 10:45 by a waiter, sat at a table for 10 minutes before another waiter came & took our menus away and told us the kitchen converted to light fare. We did not want any of the offerings but stayed anyway. Calamari was fried in oil that should have been changed a week ago. The caesar salad was the only thing acceptable. The antipasa was a disgrace. The pasta fagiole soup was luke warm and tasted like a salt lick. Bad service, we were ignored while waiters gossiped amung them selves. This place is a joke.
Fun is the best way to describe Supano's. The food is very good and the service is attentive, however the friendly reception from all and the Sinatra playing on the big screen really makes this place special. They really go out of the way to make you feel welcome.
Food was okay but very overpriced. Very nice scene in there but service was absolutely terrible. Will never go back or recommend unless for a from at the bar
Best crab cakes i've ever eaten. However, the other seafood that came with it wasn't very good. The scallops and shrimp were bland and over cooked. Our waiter was friendly yet never came around and food came out slow and cold. My boyfriend has the 16oz steak cooked medium rare, he loved it.
We had some gift certificates from a nearby hotel. When paying for bill, our waitress refused to take more than one. We then asked for separate checks, which she also refused and said it had to be done prior to sitting. This was not mentioned on the certificate at all. Unsatisfied, we paid and then left. Upon returning to the hotel, we met another group that had four certificates as well and were able to use them all at one bill. The lack of a common policy is frustrating. The food was also not very good. One of our meals had to be returned because the seafood didn't taste right and another meal of a chicken dish was eaten but barely. I do not recommend this place.
Open Table reservation was not recognized by hostess. Were the points posted to my account?
I ordered the New York strip steak and it was the best I ever had tasted. My husband
ordered the ribeye and he was very pleased with his choice. Unfortunatly, we were just
visiting Baltimore and cannot enjoy this restaurant until our next trip.
Reservation@6:45, waited 5mins before being greeted by a friendly manager. Being early, we were escorted to the bar & had a personable bartender. My boyfriend a Manhattan (his fave)-said it was one of the worst he's had. 25mins after our reservation, our table was ready. Server was completely "blah," acted like it was sort of a chore to wait on us, & seemed peeved we didn't order drinks from him. My bf ordered steak MedWell, came out MedRare. My food was ok, but nothing fabulous. For the price, the portions are TINY! Check was dropped, we used a $25 gift cert, NEW bill came out w $6 ADDED to it for live music which started 30mins AFTER we arrived (NEVER told of a cover anyway). To top it off, OpenTable emailed asking why we were NO SHOWS!!
Not anywhere near my top ten list. The entertainment is this eatery is the only saving grace. I had scallops, shrimp and crab cake. It was the most expensive terrible tasting meal ever. My guest had steak, later he remarked "the worst steak he had ever had". My vegetables came to the table cold, not al dante, COLD. I sent everything back including the seafood platter to be warmed and the vegetables came back tasting sour. I did not eat them. The Scallops were small and tasteless as was the miniature crabs cake appetizers. Save yourself a trip and go to a fast food place while listening to a Sinatra CD. Way too pricey and the food is not well done. You want a steak, go to any other steakhouse.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and the wine superb. Service was excellent from our waitress to the owner who also kept checking in on us. Can't wait to go back.
I fell in love with Supanos! The cream of crab soup, filet mignon and crabcake were delicious. The service was very friendly and prompt. I felt very welcomed by the staff and owner and have definitley found a new favorite spot! Also the jazz/blues band was great!
Too loud. Tiny portions. Mediocre food.
I enjoyed my night because of the company I was with. We made a reservation but they gave our table away and we arrived early so they wouldn't. The server was friendly n we saw her rarely. We were hoping to enjoy the live jazz upstairs but didn't because we were seated downstairs. another table had 3 young children that were running around screaming and throwing the pool table balls around. The parents nor staff asked them to stop.
We ordered pizza and pasta to be delivered to our hotel but it never came. I went to the restaurant to find out what happened. The person who took my order didn't place the order and nobody knew about it. They made me a pizza quickly and comp'd it. It was great pizza.
I always enjoy Supano's for its atomosphere and good food.
The food was terrible. We ordered pasta dishes and mine was sitting in water, completely undrained and his food had no flavor and tasted like floured noodles instead of Alfredo. We sent the food back. We did eat our bread and appetizers but the appetizers weren't that great either. Our appetizers were calamari and the fresh mozzarella. The calamari tasted like all breading and the mozz and tomato salad was drowned in balsamic. I would highly NOT recommend this place.
Dori, the server was very friendly and efficient. Our calamari was cooked to perfection. We thought our crabcakes were a bit on salty side
the waiter acted like we were an inconvenience to him. It was the last night of restaurant week and he did not offer the special menu, we had to ask for it. He did the same with his other tables but the other waitress offered the menu as she seated her patrons.
Went for restaurant week. Were out of filet mignon, the appetizer we wanted to try and posted desserts the didn't even offer on the restaurant week menu. They Also over booked and had a 35 minute wait after we got there
I would love to comment on the food at this restaraunt but since we never even got a table I can't. We made a reservation on open table 3 days in advance for restaraunt week. When we arrived we couldn't find parking so my husband went in to check our reservation. The hostess said she could seat us in 15 minutes. After parking and walking 2 blocks we go in only to be told by the same hostess that the reservations got messed up due to a glitch on open table and it would be atleast 30 minutes for a table. Why weren't we told that from the beginning or better yet emailed ahead of time. This was my first night out since the birth of my newborn and it was ruined.
Disappointing. We ventured to Supano's as part of restaurant week to try something new. Arrived for 7:30 reservations and we were kurtly told it was a 35 minute wait, the same wait for parties without reservations - we ended up waiting more than an hour. Finally, our seating was in the lower level lounge as the restaurant had overbooked and was hosting a kids gathering as well. Really didn't get to experience the restaurant as we ate in lounge. While I know it was restaurant week, by the time we were seated the service was poor. We had to ask for the restaurant week menus. The portions were very small & we had to ask for the sides of pasta that were part of the meal. As a result, I will not go back.
After consideration of all of B'more's RW options, my party of 6 booked Supano's for their diverse menu offerings. When we arrived, we were told that we could be seated 45 min after our reservation. Had we known then that we would actually be seated 2 HOURS after our reservation, we would have left. But, we kept getting told "almost!" and we were stupid enough to stay. Eventually, the manager explained that they'd had an issue w/ open table and they'd received more reservations than they had room for. Fine, but please don't keep promising a table while we stand for 2 hours.
By the time we were seated, we were all starving and the food? not worth the wait. More like a catered meal than fine dining. Also, menu didn't match the online men
The food was absolutely horrible! We will NEVER go back to this restaurant again nor will we ever recommend it! Very disappointing!
I visited Supano's with three friends as part of Restaurant week. We decided not to order from the Restaurant Week menu because the dessert items that were listed online were not available when we arrived. I ordered the Jumbo Lump crab cake which is listed as Baltimore's Best, like every other restaurant in the area, but was average. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their food but nothing really stood out. We ordered the cheesecake (not offered for restaurant week), it was a single piece of cheesecake no garnish. This was easily the best part of our meal but it could have been better had it been plated properly. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant because there are too many other places in walking distance with better food.
We had very poor service with no apology. We waited 15 minutes to be seated for our reservation. We waited an hour for our main course with no explaination or apology!
I have also left a review on Yelp explaining in more detail about my experience. Overall it was dissapointing, no sides came with either of our entries ); If we had known this ahead of time I wouldn't have even bothered making a reservation here. Steak was cooked perfect, but the restaurant was dead.... Service was fine. Live music ended way to early for a friday night! Especially since the restaurant was open until 11p. Ruth Cris has a lot more to offer their customers on restaurant week. We will just continue to go there.
Very loud on Friday nights.. not ideal for a quiet dinner. There is a band playing and the mikes are turned all the way up it seems.
The food is just ok, at least the few things that we had and our server was very over zealous - she made an appearance at our table almost ever 10 minutes and we felt rushed to order, eat our food and get out.
Went their for Baltimore's Restaurant Week. Service was slow especially since it was not many people. The menu selection for the price was great. The food was not really hot but tasty. If you like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin's music you would really enjoy it because that's what they played over and over. I would go there again because it was different.
