Supano's Steakhouse, Italian & Seafood
Breaded veal topped with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce served over linguini.
Two of us did not receive the soup that we ordered and one of us had a meal that was pretty cold
This restaurant was the worst experience I have ever encountered. While I had a reservation, it took an hour to be seated and another hour just to receive appetizers. The waiter was extremely rude and the owner did nothing to make our experience better. Spent way too much money in this restaurant to be disrespected. Choose another restaurant to spend your money that will appreciate the business and treat you like a customer.
Slow to be seated. Very unpleasant server who was arguing with her con workers who did not seem to like her very much. Seemed disorganized and tables sat dirty while people waited and waited. Food was average at best.
We arrived to the restaurant promptly at our scheduled reservation time and by the time we got to check in with hostess station they had given our table away to someone else and just said they were too busy! Completely unacceptable to me. So they sat us downstairs AT THE BAR on Valentine’s Day!
Expected a quiet dinner in a cozy restaurant and that’s what I got. I even got to see someone get engaged. I enjoyed myself.
Stood around for 15 minutes but no one would seat us, despite it not being busy and asking the servers to get someone to seat us. Overall it seems massively disorganized with abysmal service.
In short, this place doesn't seem to care about reservations--just go somewhere else if you want to have a table when you arrive.
The restaurant didn't have a table for us at all despite the reservation. They suggested we sit downstairs in the lounge area because it was empty. We were hoping for a quiet dinner, but the downstairs was quite loud and empty. After taking our seats, the same waiter came to tell us that we actually can't sit downstairs either. They tried to seat the 4 of us at a 2 top squeezed next to the array of empty tables, but this is where we decided to go somewhere instead.
Total chaos - arrived 6:45 for 7:00 reservation - after making large fuss finally got a table 7:30 after walk ins were able to sit down at reserved tables ignoring dozens of people who were waiting - finally
stole menus fro adjacent table to place order by 8:00 - food (some of it cold) - and one was served lasagna rather than chicken parm) arrived after 9:00 - took til after 10:00 to get bill and escape.... allegedly the owner came by multiple times to apologize but did not appar to do anything to resolve any of the problems.... chaos reigned supreme.
Supano's offers traditional Italian dishes, along with tasty seafood choices. The music was quite loud and we had a difficult time conversing, and we were quite far from the music. The restaurant is on a quiet side street with outdoor seating, so it would be lovely on a warm day.
There was nobody working to seat patrons and no apologies were offered for keeping us waiting nearly 15 minutes (past our reservation time) to be seated. The food was plentiful, but largely uninspiring. I would not recommend this place to a friend.
Appeared that they were short staffed. Took a long time to get drinks and food. Manager / owner was our waitstaff. Large party at the restaurant did not help. We ate there the night before and everything was great.
Excellent meal, lovely & friendly hostess and the memorabilia was just fantastic. Great place for a great meal. Look forward to going again next time I hit Baltimore.
Staff was great music was a bit loud
Manicotti was dry and sauce was not good. Too much ricotta and mozzarella was not melted. Bread was burnt on top. Salad was ok but tomatoes were metallic tasting. The strip steak had good flavor but I requested medium and it arrived very rare. I sent it back but it was still rare.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. I was in Baltimore to attend a boxing card at the nearby arena and had heard this was a neat old place with a lot of character.
Not quite. Our first sign that something was off was when we walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday and the place was empty except for the wait staff. Granted, 5:30 still is a little early on a Saturday, but no one? That left me with a weird feeling. It didn't exactly fill up during the next two hours. I think there were two more tables -- maybe three -- when we left.
Second, the place was very dark. Maybe it wanted to keep that old time feel with paneling and pictures of old or deceased stars like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Instead, it just came off as dank and stuck in a time warp. Or, the owners didn't have enough money to upgrade it.
Our server was fine and she was nice, although she was an elderly woman and it looked like she was struggling to get around at times. I actually felt a little bad for her.
But the biggest problems was the food was mediocre and it was WAY overpriced. I am talking like what you pay for a meal at a top level restaurant in D.C. where I live. My manicotti was very dry. It was the kind of meal that if you went to a chain and paid $40 or $50 for the two of you, you might not care.
But the price at this place was more than triple that. Seriously. After that, I thought, "Well, now I know why people aren't showing up." Yeah, it's been around since 1937 I guess, but is too much to ask for a reasonably priced meal when it comes to average food?
Very disappointing. I wish I had done a little more research. This could be a really neat place in the heart of Baltimore, but they're going to have to seriously raise their game.
I appreciated the attempt of capturing the old glizty 50s Hollywood vibe, but the food was overpriced, the restaurant itself was shabby, and the service was slow and distracted. The food was basically really good diner fare. I did enjoy the live piano music, and my in-laws got a kick out of all the Hollywood photos and mementos on the walls, but I just expected something a little nicer from a place that served $50 steaks.
Overpriced and understaffed. Concert night at Camden Yard, you would expected them to have been moree prepared. Initially thought it was charming and quaint. Server greeted us right away and took our drink orders. But then it went down from there. The bread tasted like warmed up stale white bread. The waitress was unable to carry more than one plate at a time. One entrée came out first, then several minutes later, the second. But we realized the first entrée order was wrong, so the waitress returned that and the new one was brought out five minutes later. Instead of apologizing, she said two or three times that “it wasn’t my fault, it was the kitchen”s fault “ . Once we were done eating we sat there for a full 40 minutes until I finally got up and asked the bartender to send somebody over to her table So we can pay the check and get out of there. I had veal saltimbocca which was nothing but two tasteless pieces of meat covered with thick ham ( not prociutto) and a sweet sauce.. And the side dish was over cooked linguini. The best part of the dish was the tomato sauce on top of the linguine. If you want real Italian food in Baltimore, do yourself a favor and go to Little Italy!
If I could give six stars I would. Service was superior food was outstanding. Will definitely be back
Did not enjoy the food and on top of that was charged $20 in tips without my knowledge. Will not return
We went there for my husband’s birthday. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. Food was excellent. Limoncello cake was amazing.
Chicken parm and the Lobster Ravioli were incredible. The serving sizes were very generous and the food was cooked to perfection! I will be back again next time I am in Baltimore!
Excellent service and excellent food, a real treat
Food was fair and price was high for quality.
Fantastic steaks! Excellent (and speedy) service—Barbara was very attentive and personal with a great sense of humor! Jazz trio kept the conversation and atmosphere hopping. This will be a regular stop when in Baltimore!
The atmosphere was dull and the restaurant doors were held open the entire time. The food wasnt good. I ordered the seafood trio and the crabcake was no good. It the scallops we're not broiled and had a bland taste. The food did not have good flavor. I also ordered a ceasar salad which was really dry and drowned in shredded parmesan cheese.
My guests ordered Buffalo wings and they were still raw. The chicken was uncooked but drowned in wet sauce to make up.
The service was ok. Our server could have been more friendly.
Overall, I would not return to eat at this restaurant.
The service and food were excellent. Jena was our server and she was friendly and helpful (we tend to ask a lot of questions when deciding what to order). We shared the crab cake appetizer and a side salad. I had linguine with white clam sauce which may be the best I've ever had: the flavor of the sauce was enhanced by nutmeg and is something I am going to attempt to replicate. My husband had eggplant parmigiana and he was very happy with the dish. The Frank Sinatra music in the background created a great atmosphere. We ate fairly early on a Sunday evening, so the restaurant did not yet have a crowd, which we enjoyed. However the way the restaurant is designed would create a good ambiance even if every table was filled. We are from Silver Spring and will definitely return to Supano's.
Worst meal we ever had.
It was a nice restaurant to go to prior to a concert. It is off the beaten path of the tourist district and is a spot all locals should try.
The restaurant was empty except for a few folks at the bar when we arrived. The waitress insisted we sit at a table by the front door that we did not want, turns out it was in her section. She spent a huge amount of time with the table next to us and was perfunctory with us.
The bruschetta we ordered was not very testy despite smelling very good. Bread with it was chewy and could have used some garlic. The salmon was coated in a cheese, possibly Parmesan, that was gloppy and dry simultaneously.
We liked the 40s theme.
Good place to visit near the stadium for a concert. The doors were left open when we arrived so it was a little breezy for my liking. The bathrooms are definitely dated and need some TLC. The tiramisu was amazing though so we finished on a great note! Would love to come back and have wine at the bar and listen to the live music. They were setting up as we were leaving.
Wait staff was attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding! My only regret is that I didn’t find Supano’s until my last night in Baltimore.
Karaoke was great Deborah was amazing however the wait service wasn’t good at all. Food was okay not good enough to be called a prime steakhouse the drinks were awful. I will go again for the karaoke after I have dinner and drinks someplace else. Management should look into these complaints I’m certain this isn’t the first.
Lousy fatty Italian food. The price is way too high for the quality of food.
Very disappointed with this experience. We specifically went to listen to live music which was great. However, there was no hostess and reservations were not even checked. I can be forgiving of short staff...that happens. What I cannot excuse is that the waitress argued with my son over how to cook his steak. It was delivered rare when he wanted medium well. We had to send it back. The pasta trio was not good. No bread or veggies served (or offered) with entrees. Crab cake appetizer was plated with wilted lettuce. When we received the bill they automatically added a tip and it was not obvious. The only way I knew was because the total was much higher that expected. This restaurant should not be on open table.
An Italian restaurant that doesn't have grappa! Need I say more.
Disappointing. Was hoping that the food was amazing (at least)
On of the worst crabcakes I've ever had and regret not going to Mo's which was not far away
The manicotti was very dry, with no flavor. Just very bland. Very little Marinara sauce. Overall not cooked properly. The mozzarella cheese was not even brown and partially melted. The steak tasted excellent even though we asked for it well done and there were some red in it.
We did love the music and videos being shown. We were looking forward to Karaoke but was told that did not start until 10pm.
Overall so - so.
We received our appetizers of salad after our main course. Our waiter served as the bartender as well so we had to wait to order and get the check. Like a crazy amount of wait time. Food tasted decent but won’t return.
Delicious veal parmigiana in a warm comfortable ambiance.
