Sunset Terrace - Omni Grove Park Inn Ratings and Reviews
View is gorgeous! The weather was cooler, but it was very pleasant! They have some heat on the covered portion of the restaurant. I had a crab cake sandwich that was outstanding! Food is slightly high priced, but to be expected for a venue like this. Would definitely go back again!
I️ went with 2 friends on a girls’ trip to Asheville, and we came here one evening for appetizers and drinks and to watch the sunset. It was amazing!! The food and drink was outstanding, our server even offered to take pictures for us, and the sunset was fabulous! It was perfect!
We had lobster Cobb salad which & the lobster roll was equally dry tasteless.
The service was excellant. The bill for 4 @ lunch was 160.00. 2 COBB SALADS 1 LOBSTER ROLL
1 SALMON 2 BOTTLES OF WATER LINES 1 RASPBERRY SORBET 1 COFFEE. IT IS SAD THAT THIS
TOURIST TRAP IS EXACTLY THAT. VENUE SUNSET TERRACE. The saving grace was the view &
Our family lunch at the Sunset Terrace was to celebrate my sister-in-law's special birthday. The staff did everything they could to make this day outstanding. The food was terrific and sitting on the terrace, even though it was chilly, was wonderful. The wait staff even brought us blankets to stay warm. Highly recommend this venue for visitors to the Asheville and locals, like me!
My husband and I celebrated our 18 year anniversary at Sunset Tavern. View was beautiful, wonderful weather for dining outside! Extensive wine list. Had the seafood tower for two and split a caesar. We were too full for desert. Could have done without the lobster on the tower. It was flavorless! Had the desert wine flight which was enjoyable if you like sweet wine! I would go back and try something else.
Celebrating our 39th Anniversary we wanted a special place and the Sunset Terrace delivered all the way around. From the time we entered into the dining area everyone was attentive and spot on.
We were met at our table by Tiffanie as she was going to be waiting on us this evening and she knocked it out of the park with her suggestions and very friendly tone, leaving us alone but casually checking back to see if we were good with everything.
For dinner this evening we started off with the Beef tartar (OMG), followed with Scallops and Filet. Both were perfectly done and Filet melted in mouth.
We highly recommend this place as a place to go for something special as you will not be disappointed one bit.
We ordered steaks after they came highly recommended but both mine and my husband's were overcooked. The waiter immediately took them back but the two we received were cooked the same.
We had cocktails and watched college football in the Edison Room prior to our dinner on the Sunset Terrace and thoroughly enjoyed that time.
Over crowded, over rated and over priced for what you get. Left hungry and disappointed the way you are squeezed in between people is rediculous, not an intimate dining experience at all. You listen to everyone's conversations. Also extremely dark cannot read the menu for anything. The fried green tomato salad was decent but I was told the lobster tail was "almost" 7 oz. it was 5 oz. at best. My husband ordered a steak over cooked and not a good cut of meat at all. If you are staying at Omni GPI. There are better options for dining in the hotel. But even better in the city of Asheville.
Service was not good. Crab cake taste like a giant lemon and had to send it back for hamburger. Took another 20 mins for the hamburger and never asked if they could get me a drink while I wait or atleast leave the fries. Ps: I usually like food wherever I go and almost never send something back. The burger was very good!!!
The view is fantastic. The Lobster Cobb salad was huge and worth the price. The Beet salad was the best my partner has ever had. Service was very good but the wait for the bar drinks was long. Valet parking at $15 seemed high. Overall dinning experience was outstanding.
Day trip to Ashville for lunch at Grove Park Inn was awesome. Fall colors were close to peak and we had a perfect table to enjoy the view. Crab cake fabulous as always. My sister in law had Baked Alaska flamed at the table. Our servers were pleasant and helpful We are planning another trip in December for lunch and to see the holiday decorations and gingerbread houses.
The view on a fall afternoon of perfect weather and the magnificence of the inn are splendidly special. Service is good but valet/parking provided free would be exceptional for handicapped folks coming for a meal experience only. The food is nothing special--especially at the cost, but it is a memorable time that keeps me coming back. Please fix unmanageable door issues for those in wheelchairs--especially bathroom entering, exiting and room enough inside. It is rather difficult to maneuver almost everywhere but disappointing in this beautiful place .
The food was amazing here with so many options! I had the lobster Cobb salad and was surprised by the generous portion of lobster that was in the salad! That is not normal from my experience. My husband loved his trout meal - all was very fresh. Oh, and do not pass up on the warm biscuits they serve first - best biscuits I have ever eaten!
The view is everything. Great cocktails, the seafood tower was surprisingly good in comparison to our normal outings in NYC, & it was a great atmosphere. It was all a perfect evening except for our naked yellow fin tuna. When I say naked, I mean an unseasoned seared piece of tuna is the entree. No garnish, salt or pepper, or anything. Just a white plate with a hunk of fish. It was cooked to our asking But it was shocking to say the least, we thought someone was pulling a joke.....needless to say we ate it with a smile and our waitress brought out a delicious sauce after seeing our shocked faces. Why not just pair the sauce with the dish in the first place? For the price/environment/etc we expected better. We ordered a side which was also good, but the naked tuna was the joke of the night. We still enjoyed our meal, but will probably go for steak next time ;)
My wife and I spent our honeymoon near asheville, mostly did the mountain and hiking scene. Our very last day we made a reservation for the sunset terrace. Service was great. Food was exceptional. Service was excellent. Above our price range was very expensive but was definitely worth it for us to go one time, the ambience and romanticism of the restaurant was absolutely great. We watched the sunset over the mountains and enjoyed a nice dinner by candlelight. My wife loved it.
