We were so very disappointed with the dining experience. The view is spectacular, have a drink and eat elsewhere. Where do I begin....the pasta was essentially uncooked, the ‘special shrimp entree in phyllo dough’ was stone cold (they did take it off the bill). To add insult to injury 2 people who had the fried calamari (which was crisp, tasty but room temp) served with a dipping sauce where violently ill with “GI” symptoms for 12-18 hours after dinner which just ruined a whole day of vacation. The service was adequate but the kitchen deplorable. Eat elsewhere.
The location, views and waitstaff are all a 10+...however, the food is a different experience....it was very well plated and presented... Upon tasting it we were very disappointed....the goganzola salad was heavily oiled making it impossible to finish...the beef carpaccio had so much oil the taste was mushy...the risotto with rib eye was buried or soaking in melted Parmesan cheese and surrounded by oil...the risotto was also under cooked and I really don't understand why anyone would top risotto with shredded rib eye...I don't know what kind of meat that was - this dish also could not be finished...our server felt my partner really deserved an opportunity to chose another dish...after a little pressing she chose the gnocchi with salmon...sadly, that dish was sinking in a cream sauce and the salmon was not cooked at all..although the our experience was not what we'd hoped, it was a windy evening and the "Sunset" sadly, had to be set up inside...noise level was deafening...BUT...we will give it a second chance...next year...
Absolutely gorgeous view, the best in Cabo for sure. Make a reservation as early as possible so you can request the best table. It does get chilly once the sun goes down so bring a jacket. Live music was great, food was good, service was awesome.
This place is just so beautiful. The scenery it's just breathtaking! The attention to detail is amazing. The servers are so friendly and helpful! The food is soooooo GOOD! The chef came to ask how dinner and the visit was and I could t wait to tell him! For my birthday they gave me a tray that said happy birthday with like 4 different desserts! We ordered a tiramisu and it was so tasty too. For drinks we ordered a Chilean house wine I think and it was 33 bucks? It was a cav, and it was delishious. Pricing on food it's cheaper than expected. I think we payed 23 bucks per entree.
An incredible view with very good wine and food. Service is not rushed.
Absolutely the best experience on all levels. It is our special place in Cabo. Service was great. View can't be beat!
The wind was blowing so hard and was cold. Everyone was freezing and couldn't enjoy the food.
Hands down the most picturesque restaurant I have ever eaten at. The view was unbeatable. The service was wonderful. Typically I would expect restaurants this great to move you along and try to turn your table fast, but they didn't rush us at all and we were able to sit there for over two hours and watch the entire sunset. They even bring you blankets to stay warm because it can get windy! It wasn't overly expensive either, for two of us to have a couple drinks, salads, entrees, and coffee it was only $100 USD, which also included complimentary roasted red pepper soup before our salads and little mini desserts after dinner. The service everywhere in Cabo was fantastic but especially good at this restaurant. Highly recommend!
Excelente servicio, trato, personal, alimentos, definitivamente regresare
The food was absolutely amazing!!!!
A delightful meal in a beautiful setting. They offered a kids menu to our daughter, which always makes meals a bit simpler.
The most beautiful, romantic, delicious restaurant I've ever been to. The patio at sunset overlooking the Sea of Cortez is incredible. I was so overwhelmed, it brought tears to my eyes. My husband and I dined there for our 25th wedding anniversary. An experience we will never forget.
Great venue! Great food! Outstanding service!
We have dined at Sunset da Mona Lisa many times and it surely is a place not to missed when coming to Cabo for the first time as the views are spectacular. The food quality and presentation were the best this year. Unfortunately, it was extremely windy and cool so the food did not stay hot longer than a couple of moments. Service was good, however there were long waits between requests. We will be back when we bring others with us who have never been.
Hands down, the best restaurant we have gone to in Cabo, and in the top 5 restaurants we have gone to anywhere in the world. I highly recommend their fettuccini dish. Better than any I ever had, even in NYC. Service was terrific too. The nicest people work there. And obviously the views are to die for. Wasn't even that expensive. In March at least, dress warmly for dinner because the wind can be cold and annoying. They gave us blankets though.
It was unlike anything I have experienced. Beautiful setting and service top knotch
What an amazing experience we had dining at Sunset Mona Lisa. It was my birthday and we were given an amazing table overlooking the waves, not that there are really any bad tables! We were sent an amuse, not sure if that is the norm, or if it was because it was my birthday. The food was fresh, clean and delicious, and the service was impeccable and seamless. The staff also sent me a special dessert for my birthday. Fantastic sunset, beautiful guitar music, great food and cocktails...oh, and we got engaged! An evening we won't soon forget.
We had an AMAZING experience at Sunset Da
Mona Lisa! Food was a 10 out of 10! The sunset location was beyond compare. Service was impeccable! Christian took good care of us! Muchas gracias!!!
Let's get the obvious out of the way. The most spectacular views of a restaurant with a patio/terrace in Cabo, inspiring and romantic. Also, we thought the service was excellent.
Apart from this, it's all terrible. We were skeptical about this being the "best Italian restaurant in Cabo" but wanted a break from purely Mexican food. This restaurant was started by an Italian from Florence decades ago and it boasts about having a Michelin-trained Italian chef. Being born in Italy myself, I was certainly hopeful this could be a gem. This is also a short walking distance from the house we were renting.
The appetizers were just fine, nothing fabulous. The burrata was stuffed with smaller cubes of mozzarella and croutons I believe but the outer shell was not moist and creamy as it should be. The pesto and olive tapenade along with it salvage the dish somewhat. The fried calamari comes with fried zucchini and inexplicably sprinkled with grated Pecorino cheese. The squid was not crunchy and not salted well enough. No tentacles, just rings, which is disappointing. The zucchini was quite good.
The main courses were a bigger disappointment. The sea bass (local, not branzino) did not taste fresh. It came with a pea puree. Tasted bland. The octopus paccheri was a disaster. The large noodles were al dente but the accompanying puttanesca sauce was not ideal, a combination of tomato paste and few spices. The octopus tasted like a Michelin tire, chewy and rubbery, totally inedible. The concerned manager did an excellent job of handling this, removing the dish and later agreeing that the octopus was not cooked properly. The item was not charged and they insisted on bringing over a small plate of fettuccine with a creamy mushroom sauce, quite good. Also comped the dessert, a tasty tiramisu. However, even though we mentioned that this was a birthday celebration when making the Open Table reservation, no one at the restaurant acknowledged this during our stay. Not a gourmet dinner
Amazing view, food and service! Must go before sunset!
