Overpriced and over-salted
The staff was friendly, engaging and respectful. The chicken signature dish was truly unique and outstanding. I wish they would give me the recipe, but I fully understand why they wouldn’t. I’d go there again if I were in the area (we were traveling through and found them through our hotel’s recommendation).
Was a good location for Mothers day dinner, good food, great view, but unfortunately mother nature did not favor mothers day this year
We had excellent Tilapia Francese and a Sunset Burger for one of our party. The food was superb and the wait staff excellent. It was a beautiful day, We chose to sit inside due to visual problems with direct sunlight that bothers one person but it was great for all three of us.
very pleasant and nice staff. Very welcoming place. Views are FANtastic! Food is good. Crispy brussel sprouts...YUMMO.
Enjoyed the food and ambiance. Was disappointed as initially sat outside but got cold and asked to come inside and was told by staff and manager it was to late as other people reserved inside-this with open tables all around. Not right
Love to eat at Sunset Cove whenever we're in Tarrytown. The food has been consistently good over several years. Nice choices on the menu. Creative selections. Great view. All good.
Met some friends who I haven't seen in a year. It was too hot to be outside, so we were immediately set up inside next to a window to enjoy the view. Service and food were outstanding. We enjoyed several hours and never felt rushed.
You pay for the waterview. There is limted outside sitting which I had requested when I made the reservation. Service was okay, lobster roll at $24 seems a bit for a lunch, considering all it came with was french fries.
Most likely won't go back.
We went to Sunset Cove for a private retirement lunch for a lovely friend. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the breeze, the Sun, and the lovely service. Food was okay.
Before going to a show at the Music Hall, we decided to try someplace new for dinner. We found the menu to offer great choices. My wife and I had each enjoyed our appetizers and entrees. We shared dessert. Good food - good drinks - good time.
Honestly, I'm surprised that some of the online reviews only give Sunset Cove three stars. Don't trust that review - it's much better than that.
It was Very good and great location!!!!! Nice water view.
Badly prepared food. The only positive was the outside dining. Go somewhere else for the view. Bad BAD !!!
So totally disappointed, we have been there in the past and had a good experience but not this Saturday night. Made reservations and had friends from out of town visiting. So first we ordered drinks, one person wanted Bacardi and coke. No Bacardi! What? How is that possible? Next we wanted appetizers first before ordering dinner, we were told we needed to order our entrees at the same time. Next, water glasses were emptied, we asked and asked and asked for more water. Unacceptable! One person ordered chicken parmigiana, suddenly they found this random bone similar to a chicken wings bone. Brought it to the waiters attention, the manager came over and told us it was a French cut of chicken. Really why leave this horrible bone hanging off the chicken. Also it came with naked starchy pasta. Needless to say we won’t be going back.
We were there one time and had a great experience however this past weekend it was not the case. Four of us went on a beautiful Friday night and they were very busy both inside and out. After all it’s a gorgeous setting. After being seated and waiting for a while, a man (the manager/owner?), came over and apologized and said he was short staffed and took our drink order. We told him not to worry and continued to wait. He then came back a while later and read us the specials than that was it. No one came to take our order and we sat there for a half an hour. We decided to pay for the 1 beer and 1 soda that was ordered and go somewhere else. It was clear no one was getting there food, no ones orders were being taken, and we did not want to sit there all night . When the man realized we were leaving he came over and very rudely said “ I told you im understaffed it’s the first nice night, I only have two servers.” Well sir, I have the weather channel do you? Yes it was nice which is why we wanted to dine there, why should we suffer and wait because your restaurant was ill prepared? We were not rude in the least when asking for our check and I was taken back at his approach to trying to get us to stay. I am 9 months pregnant and my father in law is diabetic we could not wait all night to eat. Instead of trying to plead his case he should have offered to give us the one drink we had on the house. I will never return, being ill prepared for a busy night is not a me problem it’s a you problem.
Glad we rediscovered Sunset Cove. Interior remodeled with a sleek new look. Excellent kitchen and wait staff.
Wonderful as always!
Excellent risotto, mimosas where good. Well definitely do this again.
It was great
We tried sunset cove during restaurant week and really enjoyed our meal. The food was delish, the service excellent and the waterfront view was nice, even on a cold spring evening. We will definitely return when the weather is better and sit outside . The only negative was driving into the parking lot. It looks like a construction site and we almost thought we were on the wrong road
A truly bad experience
Not impressed especially when the bill came .. how did they get the right to add 18% gratuity for a table of two .......
This restaurant is wonderful over the summer when you can sit outside overlooking the Hudson and enjoy a seasonal menu. But it the winter, the menu is limited and the quality of the food is not the same.
4 adults very nice great views
Love the food and the service , the view is beautiful
We had a Valentine’s dinner and watched the sun set on the Hudson. Beautiful. The mussels were amazing. All of the dishes were outstanding. The service was friendly and excellent.
Sunset cove is my favorite brunch spot! You can not get a better deal in Westchester. There are multiple options at the buffet and the fact the price includes unlimited mimosas(which the staff keeps coming) and coffee is unbeatable.
The views of the tappan zee and Rockland are breathtaking. It’s just an overall great place.
Great food and service.
Nice variety of offerings for a Sunday brunch. Everything was good. Generous with the morning cocktail refills. Looking forward to my next visit.
I've enjoyed many lunches and brunches with friends at Sunset Cove. It is especially pleasant when we can dine outside on the back patio. However, even when it is too cold to eat outdoors, we still have a beautiful view of the Hudson River.
There was a good variety of food for Sunday Brunch. The staff was efficient in filling my coffee and endless Mimosa drinks. I enjoyed the view of the Hudson River. I found the food tasty. I always enjoy myself here. They never disappoint. The service is consistently good. I also like the chef who makes fresh omelettes and pancakes. There is also 2 carving stations. Great deal for the price and it is great for large groups.
Beautiful view. Very noisy. Casual dining. Although they do a great business interior could use some sprucing up. Brunch was very nice, good selection and unlimited mimosas. Need to keep food hotter.
Beautiful as always! Great staff. Excellent food.
Went for dinner before a show at the Tarrytown Music Hall.
All appetizers and entrees were great. Had the special fish chowder and the carbonara. Service was excellent.
I'm still dreaming of the mussels appetizer. Out of sight....speaking of sights...the view of the new Mario Cuomo bridge was spectacular. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Will definitely return in the summer when the deck will be open
Some food cold and inedible
I imagine the restaurant might be best in summer when you can watch the sunset...regardless, the lighting was the most dismal I've ever seen in a restaurant- dim but pierced with bright white flood lights that made everything and everyone in the place look incredibly ghastly. Requesting to sit by the window, I thought we'd have a lovely view of the Tappanzee Bridge, but it's tinted (probably for sun in the summer time) so the bridge is barely visable. For the prices, the food was ok, but sadly my dining companion felt nauseated afterward and spent the rest of the evening in pain. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this place.
Clearly a local spot for group occasions - I think there were three birthdays there - noise level was really high but you get that with birthdays - not a place for a romantic dinner for two. We originally booked because it was listed as participating in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week on Saturday night (not all restaurants did). We were surprised when our server said there was not Restaurant Week menu for that night (?!) We decided to stay nonetheless- food and service were good but the noise level was unexpected
I made this reservation through open table specifically because it did not indicate that Restaurant Week menu was unavailable for Saturday. It was not. I had to complain to the manager after they provided the restaurant week menu to a large party sitting across from me. The manager ultimately apologized and provided dessert without charge but it really soured the evening.
The brunch buffet was very good and very well prepared. The staff was helpful and friendly.
I would recommend the brunch this is the 3rd time I've been there, it is even better in the warm weather when you can sit outside
and see the great view of the new Tappan Zee bridge.
