the view of the bridge and river is so fine that , restaurants in such places often being nothing but marketed view, one expects little from the food. however the food is a happy surprise, good and well prepared and served italian food and drink.
The restaurant was closed when we arrived. Although, Open Table accepted and confirmed my reservation. Not sure how that happened.
Quite empty but next to the river. A bit out
Of the way. Food was basic but good.
My very good friend moved to Connecticut and I'm still in Jersey. Tarrytown is a halfway point for both of us to meet. We stumbled on Sunset Cove on the internet the first time we met up in 2012 and have been coming yearly ever since. The view is wonderful and the food even more so. We always meet early on a weekday so it's always quiet. We've met in the early spring and eaten inside and sometimes later and eaten outside. You can't beat the view and the service. One time we had some kind of lobster crepe and you can't beat the Market Salad. Coming back for a dinner is on our bucket list for sure!
Food was fabulous, can’t wait to visit when the sunsets.
The restaurant was much better then expexted. Everything was delicious. The eggs florentine were sooooo good. I wish I had two stomachs to eat more. I never write reviews But this restaurant definately deserves a great review. Great price Great food Great view
Wonderful food, service and sunset.

Very quiet night. Food was fantastic. The lighting is a bit harsh (too blue).
Being a quiet night may impact the overall experience.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS happy and pleased with the service and food at Sunset Cove. Brunch is fantastic and has something for everyone. It's our favorite place for our "girls brunch".
Went for brunch. Nice place right next to bridge. Very pretty view. Not fancy but nice . Food very good and the service was great. I’ve been before but brought 3 people who said they would definitely go again.
Great brunch spot in scenic location. Wide range of foods from breakfast (pancakes, eggs and waffles with all the trimmings) to sliced meats, salads and hot dishes. food was good to very good. Large variety of desserts - cakes and pies. Nice view of the Tappan Zee Bridge (sorry governor - I'm old school). I little hard to find. Sunset cove could do a better job of signage. Staff is very courteous and efficient, they're happy to serve you! Price/value ratio is good. I highly recommend it.
Great brunch; great value. Great view!! We come here several times in a year - and we live over an hour away.
Don’t know if I missed something on the website, Expecting a more upscale place. A real family, affordable restaurant. It was too cold for outdoor dining- even that wouldn’t have made it better. At the end of the boatyard- food was fair. Would
Not go again or suggest someone to go
Made reservations for the wrong date and the host made sure he was able to accommodate us 👍👍
The ambiance was very nice and the view was even better. The food was wonderful and the service was lovely.
The food and service was great. The ambience was not. There are no tablecloths , nothing on the tables such as candles or flowers. Just brown Formica cafeteria type tables and chairs. The bar for waiting for a drink is not inviting. The outside area and view are the draw on a nice evening. Otherwise , nothing special at all.
We were happy that it was a nice day and we could eat outside with a nice view of the Hudson River and the bridge! The food was very good .....maybe a little pricey, but the ambiance was FAB!
I can’t believe this was my first time at this fabulous place. I highly recommend. Friendly servers gorgeous views and the food was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
Food took over 45 mins (no apps were ordered). Server was very, very nice but had a strong accent steak was good. 2 desserts were “sold out just before you”. Tell patrons what’s not available b4 offering dessert.
It was nice and quiet on Friday for lunch. There was a large party inside but they were Not noisy. My husband and I sat outside.. The lunch, the views on the deck overlooking the river and bridge were delightful.
My raw bar shrimp cocktail was delicious and fresh! A Big Plus!
My husband doesn’t eat fish but he enjoyed his chicken sandwich!
We weren’t rushed out and could sit and enjoy the sunny afternoon!
Food was wonderful as always. The salad was a meal in itself and so delicious. The salmon was prepared perfectly, medium rare as I requested. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful.
Beautiful outdoor dining with one exception, the extremely loud music made it difficult to even communicate with the person next to me, much less with those across the table.
Parking was awful since no valet parking offered even at 5:30pm, lot was full and we had to park a distance away, as did our guests.
Absolutely delicious! All in our party were beyond satisfied! We will return with four different people in a week!
Great view, great food, hard to get too. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Food was fair. Service very poor. In fact waitress told us it was good we decided not to order dessert because it would take her an hour to come back.
Just perfect! Food, service and ambiance was excellent. It was our first time there and definitely not the last.
sorry to say but the quality of food and the calibre of the service has fallen
Great selection for brunch! Can't beat the view. Enjoyed immensely.
Brunch Buffet was Ok, Food was not terrific by far, actually pretty mediocre. Service was great, and the view is wonderful.
The noise level was very loud. There was a large table of patrons and they were very noisy. We had to move away from the table.
Wanted to eat outside on the deck but was told I didn’t make the reservation right, didn’t notice anything on Open Table for there to be a difference.
Wonderful outdoor dining by the bridge. Friendly staff and very good food.
Food is never a disappointment and the view of the bridge is breathtaking. Nice set up outside.
Food and service were excellent!! Dined during sunset and sat outside where view was spectacular! Beautiful clear evening in September with live music on a Sunday evening which was a nice surprise. Definitely planning on returning.
The food was delicious although I wish there were more items on the menu. The view is spectacular. Sunset Cove fits it well!
My two friends and I had a great meal as we watched the sunset over the Hudson. Each of us had a different special (spaghetti squash, branzino, and seafood over squid ink linguini) and all were prepared perfectly. Service was excellent. Love Sunset Cove!
This was our first experience dining here. It was a beautiful evening and everyone was dining outside. The service was excellent and I think anyone could find something on the menu that they would enjoy. We both selected the Grilled Portuguese Octopus which was delicious. The proximity to the Hudson River and the northern side of the Tappan Zee bridge is a perfect location. We will certainly return.
Beautiful spot right on the water overlooking Tappan Zee Bridge. It’s a great find!
Sunset was terrific. They have a great location
Great outdoor dining. Food is good but views are why you come. Enjoyable. Great menu selections.
We had dinner an early there on a Sunday evening. Unfotunately the space next to them had a noisy band playing making it impossible to converse without screaming. While the restaurant is right on the river & looks at that ugly new Tappan Zee bridge, there are still construction barges spoiling the view. The food was good, not great. The waiter was inattentive, we had to wait for even the salad as well as main course & desert. Nor did he ask if we wanted coffee or tea. Perhaps we caught the staff on an off night, but, regrettfully,I would not recommend for a special occassion.
