As a vegetarian, it was hard to find a full meal to eat. What I settled on was very tasty and carefully prepared, although I’m not a big fan of heavy sauces. My potato gnocchi had delicious mushrooms in a cream sauce that tasted excellent but was too heavy for me. My husband’s trout was excellent in every way. Each of our salads were creatively prepared with a variety of ingredients. The Swiss chard was also delicious but unfortunately had chunks of ham hiding.
This is my favorite restaurant for extra special occasions. I highly recommend to have the tasting menu with the premium wines per course. You will not regret it. It’s a mind blowing dining experience that your tastebuds will beg for more. Kudos to Chef Luis Young for concocting this amazing culinary menu differently every night.
Great food and excellent service. The five course tasting menu was very inventive with excellent paired wines. Every server we encountered was good. Great focus on an a good experience for the customer.
Portions were a little small but food was excellent. We had the bison special which was fabulous. Service was also great. Definitely recommend if you’re on the resort.
We dined here for my husband’s 40th Birthday with another couple. My friend has a cashew allergy and specifically asked if the salmon had cashews. She was told it did not. Unfortunately, this was not the case. It had crushed cashews that couldn’t be seen by the naked eye in the sauce. 15 min. after beginning dinner we were rushing to an Urgent care because my friend could barely breath from a severe allergic reaction . Since it was 8:30 pm none were open, so we had to have an ambulance meet us en route. The Summit charged us for all four meals, even though my friend obviously wasn’t able to eat hers and we weren’t able to finish ours in our haste to leave. In my opinion this was all their fault and they should’ve refunded, at the very least, my friend’s meal. We spoke to the manager, no help there. Just an apology. My friend literally could’ve died from their error. Unbelievable. It was definitely a memorable birthday for my husband, just not the kind of memories we were hoping for. 😞
Enjoy the atmosphere, the service, portion of food was just right, can't wait to come back.
Exceptional experience. Menu offerings were outstanding, as was the service. Friendly, professional staff throughout.
An awesome experience. Our 43rd anniversary and we were made to feel like Royalty. The food was exquisite and perfect spacing between courses. The wine menu outstanding and the service beyond compare. An unbelievable evening. We will be back!
Phenomenal 5 course tasting menu with amazing wine pairings. The new chef here has elevated this restaurant to a new level. We've dined here 5 times but this last time was by far the best. Would recommend the tasting menu!
The food to exceptional. The service was great. The atmosphere was perfect.
Great atmosphere and wonderful food!
The service is always great at any restaurant at The Broadmoor. The Summit has a great atmosphere. The food is melt in your mouth good!
Very small steak portion, Caesar salad flavor nothing special, didn’t care for the mussels-sauce very plain tasting. Salmon appetizer very good but did not serve enough toasts with it-had to wait for them to make more. Bar tenders were excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable. I was asked 4 times in a few minutes if I’d like to check my coat.
Dinner with my daughter during our Mother/Daughter long weekend at the Broadmoor...started with drinks in the Summit Bar with expert drinks made by Bob! At dinner beautiful window table and our server was James...lovely Austrian Pinot Blanc...oysters on the half shell...black truffle mushroom soup and Caesar salad with white anchovies(thank you for the extra anchovies James!)...Dover Sole entree with Lobster Mousse was incredible...a pecan dessert to share with coffees...AMAZING food and service!...this trip Summit was our favorite restaurant at the Broadmoor...thank you!
We were a little disappointed as to where we were seated, pretty close to the front door, but our waiter was AWESOME and the food was very tasty. We had a very nice time and nice dinner. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
My wife and I dined at the Broadmoor Summit for her birthday three days ago. Our meal started out great ... the oysters were wonderful and the caesar salad was perfect. However, the main courses were somewhat disappointing. The beef tenderloin steak did not taste like tenderloin. It had a slightly mushy texture and a distinct "liver" taste indicating that it may have been an improperly butchered cut. It was cooked medium rather than medium rare as ordered. The Dover Sole Meuniere that my wife ordered was not a classic sole meuniere. The filet was rolled and apparently baked rather than lightly fried in a flour batter. It came with a nice meuniere sauce, but the fish itself was rubbery ... apparently from over cooking. The wine list was very expensive, but there was limited selection of reasonably priced wines by the glass. I would not necessarily recommend the Summit after our experience.
Busy night and for the second time-in-a-row, we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. Seems to be a pattern and offering to buy a drink, just offer, would have been the right thing to do. Once sat though, I began to realize that they were short-staffed. Our waiter was often off-the-floor for ages and even simple things like getting water refills had to be flagged down. That said, the food itself, taste and presentation, was outstanding, as you'd expect at a Broadmoor restaurant. It is also a good value-for-money with fair prices for the portions served and the resort setting.
The food was fabulous. The wait staff was very attentive . There was a lot of wait time between sitting down, drink orders being taken, and then our meal order being taken.
We expected a lot more from this Broadmoor experience, especially for the price point. Our waitress was sweet, but very inexperienced in fine dining and very quiet. She did not know how to create an experience at all and struggled to communicate. My friend's octupus and chorizo dish was inedible. The chorizo was overcooked and the octopus was rubbery so we had to send it back. The sommelier was amazing, but she couldn't make up for the deficiencies by herself, so overall we left feeling like we spent a lot of money on a pretty dim and unsatisfying experience with below average food. I'd recommend a different restaurant - this one needs some work. Ristorante Del Lago did not disappoint!
Always a pleasure to dine at the Summit. The tasting menu was excellent this evening... the skin on trout was especially pleasing. Sophie as usual paired some really interesting and lovely wines with our meal.
Professional staff! Also the people they hire to select and pair the wine really know their stuff!! (Give Sophie another high five and fist bump!) Everything was great!
The food was fantastic. Best scallops I ever had. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The chef came out to our table at one point. True culinary dining experience. Top notch!
Staff was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Wonderful meal with friends, food was excellent as well as the staff.
On an annual trip to Spa at Broadmoor for my daughter and I, we always enjoy a fabulous dinner and relaxing time at Summit. We LOVE the new chef this year! The flavors and integration of great ethnic cuisine enhances the traditional fare. See you soon!!’
This was a perfect venue for our Valentines dinner. We never go on Vday because most places are packed and have set menus. We tried the 5 course tasting menu with the premium wines and were not disappointed in the least. Service was excellent.
Had the chef's tasting menu with high end wine pairing on a Monday (!!!) night, usually the death knell evening for any restaurant. Wow. Rarely order tasting menus due to the time/value, but seriously, at the Broadmoor(!), $75 for the food, an extra $60 for the wine per person. An absolute screaming bargain with what was delivered. We had dined here before under less than wonderful circumstances. We took a second chance and they ran with it. New young Chef. Gorgeous room. Attentive, kind, non-intrusive, excellent team service, even with an increasingly busy room.
The star was the food. And the wine pairings. Each course was exquisite. Perfectly timed.
New York, New Orleans (our other favorite tasting/pairing evenings), eat your heart out.
Outstanding service and sommelier. They made a beet salad that was extraordinary.
We enjoyed our dinner, salad and dessert. The service was very good, the dessert was pretty small for the price but with a lovely presentation.
Very disappointed. Server seemed bored with my wife and I simply because we weren't spending a lot of money. Then the food we did order was not nearly worth the money we did spend. We won't be back.
Not only is the ambiance great, the food outstanding and the staff professional and accommodating but we asked for a special request of something they did not have on the menu and they were able to pull it off without a hitch. GREAT place....love it and will definitely be dining there again.
My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Summit, our favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs. The staff were welcoming, informed, and as a team, delivered an unforgettably delicious meal. I enjoyed the tenderloin (grass fed!) on a creamy pureed base of Yukon gold potatoes, with delicious cassava (not dry!) that was crowned with "sofrito". My husband enjoyed the delicious Chef's Special, which was perfectly prepared octopus with select veggies. The Broadmoor was nearly empty because of construction in the main building and elsewhere, but despite the construction, Summit had a deservedly good clientele on the Tuesday evening we dined. We'll be back!
The service was friendly and attentive. I appreciated that they were very respectful with our teens and treated them as adults. We were there to celebrate our son and his best friend being chosen to the All State Jazz Band and we were accompanied by their band instructor. We took a late seating and not once did we feel rushed to leave by the staff, whom we kept until well after closing time. The food was outstanding and the spacing between courses made for a very enjoyable meal with time to converse and celebrate.
I was very disappointed with the restaurant. My wife's Dover Sole was very fishy tasting and had to be sent back. As a result because of the wait she just shared my meal which was trout. The trout was okay, but not great. They did not charge us for the Dover Sole, but the way came over to apologize and said that he was sorry the meal did not meet my wife's standards. It wan't that she had high standards, in fact she has never really sent a meal back. The issues was the meal was bad, not that her standards were too high.
Wonderful place to reconnect with friends over a great meal! Super helpful wait staff and the food is delish - especially that creme Brûlé. Wow!!
Outstanding tasting menu and wine pairing experience! The new chef here has been trained in some amazing restaurants (French Laundry being one), and his experience and creativity did not disappoint. We have eaten at several Michelin-rated restaurants around the US, and we found the tasting menu (5 course) to be exquisite both in taste and presentation. The service was excellent as well- very attentive but not annoying or too present. This restaurant has three Sommeliers (and they aren't all men!) who know their wine and paired excellent wines from around the world with our menu. I really don't have any drawbacks from our experience, and our expectations were both met and surpassed. Worth a visit!
Exquisite cuisine with impeccable service
It was nice but really overpriced. We had a good time and had good service.
