About Summit - The Broadmoor
Designed by acclaimed designer Adam D. Tihany, Summit's contemporary design is inspired by the grandeur of Pike's Peak and provides a stunning counterpoint to the classic elegance of The Broadmoor. Wood, metal, glass, leather and fabrics are used throughout the dining room to evoke a modern, yet natural feel suited perfectly to Summit's bold French Bistro menu and innovative wine and cocktail program.
It all starts with the finest American ingredients and produce found seasonally around the country, which is combined with classical cooking techniques. Whether it's Colorado corn in September, Nantucket Bay scallops in November, or heirloom tomatoes from the heartland in the summer, Summit's stellar menu of year-round favorites and ever-evolving seasonal selections finds strength in a vibrant nationwide network of top-shelf vendors that provide the kitchen with the best possible ingredients.

Summit - The Broadmoor Ratings and Reviews
Had the chef's tasting menu with high end wine pairing on a Monday (!!!) night, usually the death knell evening for any restaurant. Wow. Rarely order tasting menus due to the time/value, but seriously, at the Broadmoor(!), $75 for the food, an extra $60 for the wine per person. An absolute screaming bargain with what was delivered. We had dined here before under less than wonderful circumstances. We took a second chance and they ran with it. New young Chef. Gorgeous room. Attentive, kind, non-intrusive, excellent team service, even with an increasingly busy room.
The star was the food. And the wine pairings. Each course was exquisite. Perfectly timed.
New York, New Orleans (our other favorite tasting/pairing evenings), eat your heart out.
Not only is the ambiance great, the food outstanding and the staff professional and accommodating but we asked for a special request of something they did not have on the menu and they were able to pull it off without a hitch. GREAT place....love it and will definitely be dining there again.
My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Summit, our favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs. The staff were welcoming, informed, and as a team, delivered an unforgettably delicious meal. I enjoyed the tenderloin (grass fed!) on a creamy pureed base of Yukon gold potatoes, with delicious cassava (not dry!) that was crowned with "sofrito". My husband enjoyed the delicious Chef's Special, which was perfectly prepared octopus with select veggies. The Broadmoor was nearly empty because of construction in the main building and elsewhere, but despite the construction, Summit had a deservedly good clientele on the Tuesday evening we dined. We'll be back!
The service was friendly and attentive. I appreciated that they were very respectful with our teens and treated them as adults. We were there to celebrate our son and his best friend being chosen to the All State Jazz Band and we were accompanied by their band instructor. We took a late seating and not once did we feel rushed to leave by the staff, whom we kept until well after closing time. The food was outstanding and the spacing between courses made for a very enjoyable meal with time to converse and celebrate.
I was very disappointed with the restaurant. My wife's Dover Sole was very fishy tasting and had to be sent back. As a result because of the wait she just shared my meal which was trout. The trout was okay, but not great. They did not charge us for the Dover Sole, but the way came over to apologize and said that he was sorry the meal did not meet my wife's standards. It wan't that she had high standards, in fact she has never really sent a meal back. The issues was the meal was bad, not that her standards were too high.
Outstanding tasting menu and wine pairing experience! The new chef here has been trained in some amazing restaurants (French Laundry being one), and his experience and creativity did not disappoint. We have eaten at several Michelin-rated restaurants around the US, and we found the tasting menu (5 course) to be exquisite both in taste and presentation. The service was excellent as well- very attentive but not annoying or too present. This restaurant has three Sommeliers (and they aren't all men!) who know their wine and paired excellent wines from around the world with our menu. I really don't have any drawbacks from our experience, and our expectations were both met and surpassed. Worth a visit!
As always, the food was amazing. However, the service was absolutely horrible. We were on time for our reservation at 7:15 but no tables were available. Once seated, it took almost an hour for our cocktails and appetizers to arrive and that was only after we flagged someone down.
The Summit was over capacity and the staff was strained. We’ve been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and this is the first time we’ve ever left disappointed with our experience.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Summit. The food was exceptional, the wine better and the service very good too. I also love the contemporary decor at the Summit. We started with fresh oysters which were delicious and came with all the appropriate sauces! Then the lobster ravioli, delicious. The Dover sole was very, very good. All in all, a very nice evening. One more thing, the Som is very friendly, approachable and knows her wine-take advantage of the free advice:-)
Duxbury Bay oysters were as good or better than any we've had. Confited pork and dover sole were outstanding. Grapefruit and pistachio cake was a work of art. Overall, far better food than on any of our previous visits. Noise level was moderate, but when busier it can be loud.
Summit at The Broadmoor is excellent. The menu is creative, food is fantastic, and the service is top- notch. We've enjoyed many meals here and have never been disappointed. This is a great spot for an evening out with friends, a business dinner, quiet dinner with a spouse, or a more relaxed meal at the bar. The mussels are a favorite of ours. Enjoy.
Overall it was a great experience. The food was great and unique, the cocktails were fantastic, and the overall aesthetics of the restaurant were great. The only bad part about this experience was our server. Dinner took us 2 hours to get through simply because our server ignored us.
I understand that sometimes servers get busy with other tables, but that was not the case for her since we were one of only three tables in her section. It took her 15-20 minutes just to come get our drink order, she then rushed us to give her our food order and then we didn't see her again till she asked us if we wanted dessert. And unfortunately, due to the mandatory 20% tip (included in the check), I was not able to show my dissatisfaction with her performance through her tip.
But other than the bad service we experienced, this is a quiet and nice place to have a meal.
Generally the Broadmoor surpasses expectations, and we have dined at the Summit before and had a positive experience. We came this time to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The service and ambience were nice. However, I was served a dinner that the wait staff recommended, that I really did not like. The fish was tasteless and I did not at all like the sauce that accompanied it. I asked if I could change my entree. The waiter was very apologetic and promptly brought me another meal. However, afterward we realized we had been charged $20 for the meal I had returned. I am used to exceptional service at the Broadmoor but was very disappointed to be treated this way, and will most likely not return to the Summit.
A little disappointed. Didn’t seem to have our reservation. It was my husbands birthday and I had noted that ahead of time but they didn’t seem to remember. Had to remind them. Service was “ok” but whole evening didn’t feel like anything special. We love the Broadmoor and have dined at The Summit on special occasions before but may skip The Summit next time.
In my opinion, this restaurant is the best one at the Broadmoor. It does have creative, unique food so maybe not good for kids and people who prefer boring food. The wait staff is knowledgeable. The service is excellent and one does not get a stingy portion of wine, as in some of the other places at the Broadmoor. The prices are actually more reasonable than other restaurants at the Broadmoor when one considers the value of the food and service.
I always eat at The Summit when I am staying at The Broadmoor, it is the best restaurant at The Broadmoor! Local ingredients combined with an imaginative chef makes for excellent food. My latest dinner included Gnocchi Parisienne as an appetizer which were not made with potato but pate choux in a sage cream sauce that melt in your mouth leaving me wanting more! The service is always excellent and not at all stuffy and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about the menu.
My server was rude! He made slick rude comments I guess he assumed I couldn’t afford my meal! I took it as me being black, when I made the reservation I mentioned it was my birthday and he didn’t do anything at all Which was also disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant due to the fact I was treated wrong, and my birthday was ignored.
The food was wonderful! My husband had the "angry trout" which included the head and tail. He said it was delicious! I had the Colorado Bass which was very light and delicious.
The service was terrific and the ambience was lovely, it looked like a building that Frank Lloyd Wright designed.
Overall, a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it.
