About Summit House Restaurant - Fullerton
For Centuries the English Inn has earned a great reputation for Friendly faces, cozy rooms and cheery firesides. As soon as guests come to the Inn, the charming host and hostesses run to greet them. In front of a crackling fire one can partake of good hearty fare - the tankard is always full - the spit hung with roasting beefs - and a table heaped with sweets and such.
The Inn keepers of the Summit House were inspired by the custom to create a hospitable place where friends could meet to eat, drink and delight in the views of North Orange County's countryside.

Summit House Restaurant - Fullerton Ratings and Reviews
We went for our anniversary-ish. We were married here a few years ago and had a gift certificate to use that we received last year. Holy hell was it loud with the two tables near us. The table that was to my rear was far too close to back up my chair comfortably. Looking around, there doesn't appear to be much of a dress code. This was disappointing but kind of expected due to Yelp reviews that we read. The food, fantastic.
It was my first time there. We were more than pleasantly surprised. It was an annual father - daughter dinner and our server appreciated the occasion. She even let us lollygag awhile and enjoy each other's company. Everything was outstanding, especially the food. My wife and I are going to dine there in two weeks just to verify (lol). It was a drive for us, but was well worth it.
The food is decent here and the service is not bad, as long as customer is aware that their request for window seat is not guaranteed, no matter how far in advance you make the reservation unless you go right when they open at 5pm. We were told that “we tried to hold the window seat for you, but a group that came earlier liked it so we had to give it to them. But the booth also has the same great view!” Yes... great view of the other diners! Our reservation was for 6pm.
Very enjoyable evening. The restaurant was very busy and loud. Food was delicious. All four of us had fish (sea bass, salmon, halibut). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Servers, bar staff, hosts and valet personnel were all polite, professional and helpful. Because of the crowd, service was a little slow but still attentive. Wine list vs value was pricey. Food portion was excellent but also, a little pricey. Overall, a fun time. We will return.
Summit House never disappointments me. The service, the food, and ambiance is always excellent. I would highly recommend Summit House for those who want great prime rib! My only advice would be to make your reservation way in advance especially during the holiday season. I could only get a 8:45 p.m. reservation which is really late to eat a big meal, but luckily, we got there early and they were able to take us 30 minutes earlier.
We have been to The Summit House once every year. We go be cause it is a superb restaurant. However this last time it fell short of its normal high standard. First we were lead to a table that was not ready. We were a party of two but were seated in an area that was primarily large party tables. Not the best situation. The service was good but not the high standard we have come to expect. Not sure what was the reason for this. The for though was excellent as usual.
Summit House always does a consistently good job. Food was good. Service was good. Not quite the level of service you expect, but you still feel as if you are dining in a higher end establishment. If they would only raise the servers to a bit higher level of professionalism, I.e. dress, attentiveness, etc. The tempo of service is not complimentary to finer dining...yet the price continues to rise as if it were a higher end restaurant. Were they to attend to these, in my opinion, Summit House would certainly rise in the ranks as one of the finer restaurants in Orange County.
Summit House is always wonderful! Consistency is a plus and Summit House consistently has very good service and an excellent menu. The halibut is a favorite in our group. This time, some of us also tried the butternut squash soup. Luscious and silky! No room for dessert but we tried the sampler anyway. This was a fun way for all of us to have a bite of each of the fabulous dessert offerings.
Thank you for the very special Christmas celebration at the Summit House last Friday. We enjoyed the beautiful holiday décor and strolling Christmas carolers. We enjoyed your tasty prime rib and delicious sides of creamed corn and creamed spinach. I am so glad we splurged, calorie-wise, and ordered the Summit House dessert sampler. It was as eye appealing as it was delicious!
The view was great, the carolers were wonderful, but the food value was not great. I've been to this restaurant several times in the past, but the prices for food have raised tremendously. I ordered the salmon and it was very dry. I also ordered a salad, and the pecans on the salad were not tasteful, and the salad was just so, so. My friend ordered a shrimp cocktail, and for the price, the shrimp were very small and only a few on the plate. We were very disappointed in the food quality. The server was also very busy, so our service was not what we've been accustomed to at this restaurant. I'm sad to say I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
We went with a couple who had never been there before. We wanted to celebrate the Christmas season together, and we said The Summit House is the place to go. We had a wonderful time and they loved it as much as we do. The Christmas carolers were so special in their traditional clothing, and their voices were beautiful. It was a very festive and memorable experience.
