The wait time was very long. We arrived at 630 for our 715pm and we understood we wouldn’t be seated earlier. But at 720 we were told we were the next to be seated, but would be a 10 minute wait. And then at 745 we were told we had two people ahead of us and would be another 10 minutes.
As soon as she says that and I say we have been waiting and we were told we were next in line, she said I’m sorry. And then I waited and within 10 seconds we received a message our table was ready.
I’m sure they skipped over us a lot of times and refused to admit it. When we did get a table we got a side table and they gave the booth to a party of two that had walked in with no reservation. We overheard their conversation. How is that fair? It was very disappointing and I do not think I’ll be coming back here again!
Justin was incredible! We will definitely be back!!
What’s the point of making a reservation when you are still waiting 25 minutes to sit? Clearly the 1 hour and 30 minutes is not enforced.
This restaurant is so cute, very California vibes (as in the name). The food was delicious and not as expensive as I was expecting. Service is really nice but a little slow, so it's not a quick dinner or lunch spot.
Phenomenal place to eat!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! We totally enjoyed the dining experience. Thank you!
Power greens were very spicy
Was recommended this place by a server from our dinner the previous night, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has “LA vibes” and was a light, airy and romantic feel. Service was really good, and food was tasty!
We always enjoy dining at Summer House Santa Monica.
Food was INCREDIBLY underwhelming, so so so disappointed would have easily gone to RPM or another chain with the same cost and a significantly higher quality meal. So so salty, even the bun on the burger was stale. Will not be returning.
This is one of my favorite spots. It transports you a warm environment where everyone is enjoy each other and great food.
Everything was great including our server.
Aside from our waiter being a little on the slower side as in brining coffee and didn't even bother to ask if we wanted cream and sugar or anything, and had to wait a long time for him to come back so we can ask for that, Overall was a good experience. There was a mistake on food and it took a while to wait for the waiter, but the the manger was super nice and took care of everything. Ambience/atmosphere was beautiful and lively. Food was meteocre because some were a little tasteless, like the burnt hashbrowns. But the short ribs hash was delicious. Will definitely go back for that dish and to try others as well. Drinks were perfect alcoholic and non alcoholic.
Have only been here twice and ABSOLUTELY LOVED it both times. Menu not what I expected. Service was great throughout meal, except at end when we wanted bill and he took forever to even notice us. Luckily we didn't actually need anything but the bill at that point.
Our service was incredible. Our server Jake, was kind and welcoming. He was able to provide several recommendations across the menu that surpassed all expectations. We’ll definitely be going back again.
worst dining experience in quite a while. cleanliness, food taste and temperature, management ability/interest in addressing customer concerns: ALL bad. our server and one of the hostesses tried but everything and everyone else was dreadful. first/last time diner.
Was told we would need to wait 15 min for a table with a ressy when we arrived assuming that meant we'd get outside or in the main outside area instead we were sat in the back corner with no outdoor and a bunch of empty tables all around us. Food was ok. The tuna watermelon tartar was way too spicy I had to have the waitress take it back, the chicken sandwich was kinda dry. The waitress was good and helped but overall it was just meh. The cookies on our way out made it all worth it though
Our reservations were delayed by 30 min. Food was delivered late and drinks were not good. The waiter was new and the restaurant was overcrowded. Will not be returning.
Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and delicious. Halibut was dry. Service was excellent. We were in a hurry and did not have time to complain. 3 birds in the restaurant flying back and forth while we ate.
The ahi tuna sandwich special was delicious! Our waitress Carley was fantastic!! She was very knowledgeable about the menu (recommended the ahi tuna sandwich) and was very attentive. We had a great experience!
Great variety of menu options at a place offering outdoor dining if space allows. Terrific pastries on the dessert menu and from a mini-bakery
Salads are always a hit!
The atmosphere at Summer House Santa Monica always makes me feel like I'm right by the Pacific Ocean. The service is excellent, but I was underwhelmed with the food. I ordered a Brussel sprouts salad and it had almost no taste. I order salmon with the salad to be cooked well done and it wasn't. My friend ordered a club sandwich a a 9 oz. glass of wine. With tip the total bill was $96.00, which I thought was a bit pricey for what we got. Seriously, $27 for a glass of Pinot?! Wow. The good news is that the rest rooms were close by but separate from the dining room, which was a plus since most LEY restaurants put their rest rooms in the basement.
Eliminate the surcharge. Feels a bit much given this is a corporate "Lettuce Entertain You" establishment.
The ambience, food, service and experience were overall amazing. I will definitely go back.
Food was lukewarm and just okay: would not go back
Great service! Great ambience. Great deserts!
My friend had and loved the Brussels sprout salad. I had the chicken sandwich which was good but dry. Waiter gave us some aioli which helped. Drinks were great! Server was attentive! I enjoyed the vibe!
Such a fun dinner spot. Great for friends dinner or date night. Fun and lively atmosphere. Food and drink exceptional and staff was great.
Unfortunately, my food experience today was not good. Summer House in my opinion has the best shaved Brussels sprouts, but today was very disappointing.
Service wasn’t great. We were there for an hour before the server remembered us and took our order. Food was great though!
The place is amazing! The vibe is beautiful, the food was great, the service was lovely. I’m gluten intolerant and they totally accommodated me, they even had gluten-free bread!
