My burger was so rare the bottom bun was soggy & red from blood. I had to send it back to the kitchen and ask for a new one. The meal was not anything special but the ambience and decor was cool. I also ordered a drink called Ricky Bobby that was pretty delicious. I wouldn’t go here again for dinner but I would try brunch.
It was perfectly fine. I was expecting a bit more, especially for the price. The dishes were unspectacular and over-priced and very small portions. Same for the wine. Since they made a big deal about their "rose cart" I was hoping to try some really interesting roses, but they were pretty standard fare. The service was fine but I felt like we were getting rushed out.
Just love it
Overall a very nice experience. The appetizers (artichoke dip and Brussels sprouts) were excellent. The penne alla vodka was not the best. Other entrees were great. We have been here previously and I was disappointed that the sticky toffee dessert was not longer on the menu.
Fabulous food and drinks! Great ambiance
Great menu. A little slow
Loved the look of the restaurant, and the food was really great.
The quality of food has definitely decreased in the last year or so. We had a crab pasta dish that tasted very fishy (not in a good way) and couldn't eat it. A few weeks prior we were here and found both the brussel sprouts to be overcooked and not very warm by the time they arrived. For a neighborhood restaurant with a great atmosphere, it's unfortunate to see the food quality going down.
(Lunch review). We’ve been for brunch numerous times and it is my favorite brunch spot in the city. Lunch did not live up our experiences with lunch though. I’m afraid we left a little disappointed with the menu options, when comparing them to their incredible brunch.
This was our first time dining here. We decided to have brunch before we caught our flight back home to Atlanta. Everything was great from the service to the cocktails to the ambiance. Will def return for brunch the next time we are in town!
Introducing boyfriend to family for the first time!
Was a bit upset that my food came out lukewarm. It was good though. Didn’t like the fact that everything was extra charge and wasn’t informed of it while ordering. The drinks were good but not strong enough for the almost $20 price. I did the PB & J with the up charge.
It is definitely a hard place to get into. We waited 40 minutes from our reservation time to be seated - this needs to improve. Other than that, our service was okay and the food was exceptionally good. I had the turkey meatloaf, one person had spicy pasta and the other had the trout. We all enjoyed our meals. I wish Dessert menu was more traditional as it lacks anything I care for.
We had an outstanding experience for a party of 8 V-Day Weekend.
The food and drinks is fairly expensive but the quality is excellent.
Love the brunch here. Our server Levi was outstanding.
With a reservation we still had to wait 20 minutes.
Our server was very slow & didn’t take care of us .
Jenna was our server she was great
Server took way too long.
Valentine’s dinner with steak and lobster tail was BOMB
Been many times. Thought we would celebrate Valentine’s Day. We were immediately seated only to be ignored for 30 mins. Ordered our meal , appetizers, salad, 2 entrees with some sides. Asked to waiter to space it out!! Or dinner arrived with the appetizers (forgot about the second entree). The sides were cold and tasteless. We told our waiter that we were missing an entree. He apologized and it arrived after dinner was over. No mention of dessert. Very surprised since we ate on the earlier side(6:00).
Taking this off our list.
Excellent food. Loved the turkey meatloaf. Server was a little distracted.
Summer House is outstanding! I have celiac disease and can rarely eat somewhere that I feel has a big selection for me. They had an entire menu for me to choose from. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Not to mention the vibe is just “vacation-like.” Definitely will be going back!
The soup was so good.
Summer House was just the remedy I needed for a cold, snowy afternoon. Our server Natalia was attentive and helpful throughout our visit.
The ambience is fantastic! On a gray winter Chicago day, it honestly felt like you were somewhere else because the sunlight shines in the entire venue. Food is always good
Even though we had a reservation made way in advance, we got the worst table in the whole restaurant right by the entrance with a very cold air draft. Beer was served with no head at all!
