This is a beautiful restaurant with nice large tables for a group. The food always feels overpriced for the taste and portions but the atmosphere makes up for it. The cookies are beautiful but lacking in flavor.

We go here every year for my husband’s birthday. The staff is kind and thoughtful, and the atmosphere is perfect for a sweet occasion.

Great service as always. Love this for lunchtimes and brunch! Bit sad they have taken poke bowl off menu for weekends only! But otherwise always a local fave

We had a reservation on a weeknight at a relatively late hour, and were seated promptly. The room is always a delight to entire because it is so light and airy, as you would expect based on the name of the restaurant.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The menu is moderately changed, although we don't go often enough to know how often. At least they keep the Brussels sprouts, which set the tone years ago for how they are now prepared everywhere else. They're great.

Like almost all the other restaurants to where we have been lately, it seems the servers do a disappearing act at the end of the evening, and you have to find someone to get your bill and then to take your payment. It's annoying. However, considering that the food is tasty and priced within reason, and the atmosphere is bright and lively, and the bulk of the service is good , it won't keep us from coming back.

The desserts in the little bake shop when you walk in are as good as anything on the menu!

$18 for a Cobb salad???? Give me a break. Service is horrendous. Took 25 minutes after asking for our bill to even get the waiters attention. Never going back

We’d a employee meeting. Great ambiance, good food.
We loved the Zinfandel Taft. Salmon on spinach was amazing.

Why is there a $2.00 surcharge for non mixed or drinks served with ice or straight up? It’s truly tacky. Just charge $2.00 more for the drink. No one would care and it would not allow bad mouthing the restaurant.

Excellent lunch with nice choices including butternut squash soup and a great guac and salsa plate. Good burger, turkey club and salad options with fresh, unique ingredients. Great roasted brussel sprouts!
Rather ordinary quality of basic breakfast foods for the money. Need to up their game for bacon (rubbery) and eggs (bland) and create more tasty, pliable toast (stolid, lacks chewiness.)

Love the ambience here - such a bright sunny room. We had early brunch on a Saturday - so happy to find a place that opens earlier than 10 am. Our meals were well portioned and delicious - I tried the granola and yogurt parfait, which was more than enough food for me - the berries were sweet, even at this time of year. We will definitely be back.

Went with husband and 2 kids (8 and 5) and had a great experience! Would love to go back and try without kids. We went on a friday around 4pm. It was kid-friendly, both kids actually raved about the food they got (colorable kid menu with crayons). Wine is very expensive, in my opinion (9 oz. of rose on tap was $19) but other food items seemed reasonably priced (kids meals start at $5.95). Highly recommend!

This was a perfect lunch restaurant to try. I took it from a recommendation from open table, easy to make a reservation. We only waiting a few minutes as they prepared our table on arrival. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu- making great recommendations. She was attentive to us but not the awkward waiter attentive. Food was amazing! Highly suggest the steak frites and the ahi tuna sandwich. Definitely going back and making this a place a go-to place.

Been to Summer House a couple of times in Chicago and elsewhere. Frankly, it is the reason I choose to bring guests there last night. While the food was great the service was awful. Our Waitress was zoned out and totally unaware. She filled our water glasses after every sip (literally) but when we ordered another round of Bottled Beer she cleaned three other tables, brought the glasses for our beer, brought some else their check and took an order before she brought the beer. The bottles of beer took over 20 minutes and came half way through our dinner! Maybe not clean and clear tables if you have taken a drink order. Makes the existing customer feel as though it is more important to get the next table seated in your area rather than waiting on the tables you already responsible for. Meanwhile, she kept bringing glasses and pouring water in all the glasses so we had no room for dinner when it arrived. Very disappointing. The restaurant had a couple tables open and no line so no real excuse for her lack of service. But she was a great water pourer! Absolutely absurd!
