It was my girlfriend's birthday and the manager surprised her with cookie and ice cream and a candle.
I was there for Brunch with Santa and I was happily surprised by the staff, all the employees did a great job from hosts, the staff helping with Santa and waitress, everyone had a smile and were very patient with the kids, Santa was extra nice, talking to the kids, no rushing, very sweet! I had a reservation and was quickly seated, food came out fast and drink was on point, great job guys, hope you do this very year :)
It was extremely hot temperature wise inside.
Food was okay. Service was not good. Waiter did not check back enough. No plates with appetizer... hard to flag anyone. Dishes were not cleared.
Wait time, despite the advanced reservation, was long. Once we were seated, however, all was nice.
The food was terrible. I ordered the fish tacos and it was so over done that I couldn’t eat it. Butternut squash soup was as thick as eating mashed potatoes. One friend ordered a turkey burger and the other ordered a hamburger. Also said food was not good. The people at the next table told us their food wasn’t good either as they were leaving. This has been my experience the last couple of times I’ve been at Summer House. I love the restaurant and the drinks, but the food has gone down hill. In addition, the bar area was closed for a very noisy holiday party.
I love this place
The gluten free cookies are good. Cobb Salad was good.
The food is nothing special, but it was good. The service was inattentive at best and invisible at worst. Lots of wait stuff, all apparently doing not much. Our waitress was nice, but never around. She could have warned us that the avocado on the avocado toast was very spicy. Completely unexpected. One omelette was supposed to have onions, cheese and mushrooms and came only with mushrooms. The manager took it off the check and offered to comp us another one, but we were in a hurry at this point and just moved on. The manager did her best to make things better--something she must have to do quite often. It's too bad because it's nicely decorated, in a convenient spot, and the food actually tastes good.
Order was wrong, took forever, messed up a gift card, took a long time to try to fix things and am couldn’t fix them.
Made me be late to training clients because they basically added an extra 30mins trying to fix their screw ups.
Appetizer in main course was good. We typically love the cookies for dessert, but they were not as good as usual. Did not taste fresh.
Server assistant was not up to quality of restaurant. After serving bread to us took it off table to give to another table. Served soup without spoon. When dinner was served made comment about how much food I will be eating. Made for not a relaxed evening .
Service was atrocious, food was mediocre to poor, and price was ridiculously high for what we got. Our first visit was dinner for a party of 4. The waitress was completely untrained and clueless. She brought our bottle of wine to the table already opened and proceeded to serve the wine without asking anyone to taste it. In addition, the red wine was so warm that it was undrinkable, as if it had been stored next to a stove or other heat source. We had to return it and ask for an unopened bottle and a cooling bucket. The food arrived and we were served very small portions of flavorless chicken, pasta, and fish with the skimpiest of accompanying side dishes. When we asked for additional Parmesan cheese for the pasta and some bread we were served two (2) slices of bread and a thimble size cup of Parmesan. We had to ask twice for additional water for the table. My dish was $33 for a small piece of farm-raised salmon (not wild Pacific salmon) accompanied by a small bowl of soggy spinach. Midway through our meal a manager or supervisor of sorts came to ask if things were OK and we explained the various things that were wrong. He said "Oh!", walked away, and we never heard from him again. We will never return .
Always enjoy this place for food. It is awfully loud even at late lunch time.
I tried. I gave it 3 chances but other than brunch the food here just doesn’t do it for me. Friendly staff, clean and bright interior, well managed, GREAT happy hour. Otherwise, just, no
Over-priced and mediocre food. That about sums it up!
Julia, our server was exceptional
I have visited the Summer House several times and it's always a pleasant experience. The food is good and special requests are taken good care of. I do wish the tables that are along the middle divider were a little more spaced. It's hard to hear your companion if there are a lot of people at the next tables.
Service was very poor. It took a while for anyone to acknowledge us when we walked in. We were then seated in the back at a table with only four chairs. We were a party of five. They provided a fifth chair with tomato sauce on it. When we pointed it out to the hostess, who seemed annoyed that we had interrupted her conversation with the wait staff, she wiped it clean and then flung the chair back to the table with a flippant “There ya go.” After we were all seated the person at the end had to move his chair in repeatedly since a parade of waiters used the path to carry and retrieve plates seemingly unaware or unconcerned that one of us had to keep moving our chair to accommodate them. We finally asked to be seated somewhere else. At that point, we received decent service until the very end when our waiter disappeared. Luckily, someone else took our dessert order. I came to Summer House when it first opened and the service was great then. Not sure what happened but a little attention to patrons would go a long way. I will no longer consider Summer House as a dining option.
I've been here 6 times and my experiences have been a 50/50. 50% good and 50% not so good. Overall it's a good place but the service and food quality are hit or miss.
Summer House is super cute and well decorated. The service was really nice and their happy hour is amazing! Was seated in the bar section per request and the server came by immediately (although it wasn't particularly busy at the time). We stayed for a long time because it had been a while since we all have seen each other and the restaurant didn't seem to mind.
Pretty restaurant. Below average food. Average service.
2 of 4 orders came out wrong and food was just ok. The blueberry muffin was delicious! Skip the restaurant and just go to the bakery in front!
Two orders of $32 salmon were both over cooked. The prime rib eye was just OK.
Cocktails were a disaster.
Our server was good. But the experience was terrible.
We had a reservation, but we still needed to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. There aren’t many choices in the menu. The restaurant is quite noisy. Food was good. Price was reasonable.
Very noisy, crowded restaurant on Saturday night. The table was not ready despite reserving it in advance. Unimaginative menu and mediocre food quality. The charge for the fish tacos $28, much too high for what it was.
Parking was horrific on a Saturday at 2:00 p.m., took 20 minutes. Five people in line for women's bathroom, shared with adjacent restaurant. Ambiance was a bit noisy. Food was okay, not outstanding.
Great lunch and server was awesome
Chose Summer House for a quick birthday dinner for my husband and he enjoyed everything just as much as our waiter, she was awesome, however I forgot her name, maybe Malorie?
Awful service. Their employees need training!
The food here is reliably delicious. Even the simplest ingredients are put together in a thoughtful and delicious way.
Was not impressed with the brunch. I have been for lunch and the food was much better.
Everything was fine. Great server! Dropped a point on food as my butternut squash soup was tasty but lukewarm. My main course could have used some seasoning. Crispy smashed potatoes were addictive!
Come here often and food is always very good. Service also very good. Was a busy brunch morning on Saturday and this time all of the food came over very cold. Manager helped address, but that’s what makes it only a 4* visit this time! We’ll be back.
We had a reservation and waited 40 minutes to be seated. When we were seated, we needed to request a different table since the one selected for us was in one of the busiest area of the restaurant (next to a service station, etc.). There were multiple errors with our order and even though it was my birthday and with the drama of being seated late, the sever or management made no effort to compensate us for our experiences by giving us desert, taking off and entrée or anything of the like.
Perfect! As usual a relaxing enjoyable dining experience.
Great food. I had salad which was delicious ! The server was new and inexperienced but did a very good job. She was very friendly. My Sister enjoyed her salad, too. And she liked the wine choice. Summer House always a good choice!
Summer House is consistently excellent. The atmosphere is open, light and friendly. We like to sit where we can observe the kitchen. Their chefs are professional and fun to watch. We each had fish dishes that were cooked to perfection. Always a pleasure.
Went there for lunch with my wife - at first, the place seemed ok. But the food took a really long time to arrive. My wood-grilled chicken was completely under seasoned and very unmemorable; no wood grill flavor at all. The only thing that stood out was the $24 price tag. My wife's fish tacos came with a single piece of fish, a strange choice for a taco dish and side of beans with too much salt. I think they put the salt from my chicken into her beans...
At first appearance, the place is bustling with servers and other staff - but when I dropped the fork on the floor, it took a surprisingly long time to get someone's attention to get a clean fork.
One of my favorite spots. Love the emerald kale salad.
This was one of the worst meals I have had in recent memory. My guest and I ordered the same fish dish. We had not idea that was going to be fried. That was the first surprise. The second surprise was that the fish came in the middle of a thick batter. I tried to peel the fried part, but there was very little fish in the middle. The 3rd surprise was the taste. It did not taste good at all. It was a disgusting unhealthy meal. I don't think I will be coming back there. It was a horrible overpriced meal.
