Summer Fish & Rice Ratings and Reviews
Love this local exquisite sushi spot. Omakase is fantastic, but their rolls are incredible (not Cora but worth it). Apparently the steak is amazing but I haven't ordered that, I'd rather get their grilled fish if I'm not in a sushi mood. They're sweet to kids and make it fun. Get the truffle oil adamame to start!
I made an 8pm reservation through open table. When I arrived @ 8pm I was told that my reservation was made for 7:17pm Not sure if that's possible. We had the Shrimp Tempura app & Miso soup w/mushrooms, they were both good. I love Yellowtail collar and they missed badly not seasoned and not cooked properly. I'm glad that I know how to make it. Yellow tail Carpacio & Lobster hand roll were truly basic. Glad that it wasn't a 1st day. Kez
I usually love this place! I come to the restaurant about once a month to have lunch with business guests. Today when I ordered my favorite (the Summer Special) and asked to substitute the shrimp for a fish (the dish has 5 fishes and one shrimp), the waiter told me it would be an extra dollar. Really?? I didn't ask to substitute Blue Fin tuna, I just said one of the fishes because I have a recent sensitivity to shellfish. I was really dissapointed at that reply and am not sure if I will come back.
Server was friendly and helpful. Food was very good - soft shell crab, spicy tuna poppers, seaweed salad, broiled black cod, Del Sol roll, shrimp and veg tempura set, blue crab hand roll, uni nigiri - just a few we had and will have again.
My mum loves uni and is very fussy about it as she finds it difficult to get great uni in most restaurants - well she found it here. Even my barely 2yo niece enjoyed her California roll.
It has been a very good evening with family. We will definitely recommend this restaurant.
A total local gem! Summer is my go-to for quick and delicious sushi (plus truffle edamame, yum!). If beautiful sushi rolls or sashimi aren't your thing, the spicy tuna bowl dinner option is fantastic. A little bit of everything and at a super reasonable price.
We celebrated my son's college graduation here. It was a wonderful meal and it's the first restaurant in a long time that kept filling my tea cup with hot tea before I ever had to ask! The fish was fresh and the unique rolls were delicious! It was a wonderful meal- thank you!!!
Food is consistently solid, good enough value especially with Happy Hour mixed in, pretty considerate and caring staff. A neighborhood joint more than a destination. They are inconsistently busy, meaning sometimes they are slammed and other times, its an easy walk in and sit down, which makes it challenging at times. When full it is loud usually with families with kids and poor acoustics. Nice design, IKEA furniture and settings, but can't complain. Its a routine go to, but usually not a first choice. Good people and food overall though which bumps it up from a 3 to a 4/5.
I went here last night because I've driven by a thousand times and always wanted to try it.
Walked in to no host, dirty unbussed tables EVERYWHERE, almost half the tables in this small restaurant were unbussed. We had a rez, yet we arrived on time and they had to bus a 4-top and then separate it into a 2-top for us while we stood there.
Then they sat us at the 2-top between two imunbussed tables! I was within arms reach of dirty leftovers, rice bits, spilled soy sauce and out table was still sticky!!
We ordered a variety of items. All of the tuna was fishy tasting, the carpaccio/sashimi was sliced so thin it was almost like eating nothing.
I had to ask twice for my beer and one item we ordered didn't even get entered so it never showed up!
I don't know if this place was ever good, but it's definitely BAD now.
Side note: this was 8:45 on a Thursday so this is them at their best. Disappointed to say the least. I was really hoping to have a new favorite sushi spot nearby.
Too much to ask for cleanliness of the restaurant, freshness of the food and to get what you order, the first time?
Redeeming quality, despite all this, the server was trying his best to be friendly and attentive. Just too little too late.
