We love Sullivan Bistro. Service is always outstanding, the food is quite good and the prices are more than reasonable. A definite recommendation. Guacamole and chips appetizer was better than most and I loved my eggplant parm. Go!!
So happy to have had the chance to return here. They've expanded their menu to include lots of gluten free items. The waiter was outstanding in finding good recommendations for me. Small bar area, but can have drinks outside which was a plus. Gluten free, YEY!!!!!
We waited over an hour for our dinner. Nothing was offered to compensate us for this inconvenience.
They had a varied menu which was perfect cause we Went with the kids. Delicious salmon cooked perfectly moist, different varieties of mashed potatoes, spinach tasted great, creative take on Mac n cheese all made the food wonderful. The service was kind and patient. And the ambience was perfect -- open to the outdoor sidewalk flowers in a pretty neighborhood street, but the comforts of indoors.
A very good ambiance. Varied and tempting menu. Honest and decent cooking and preparation. Hassen is the name of the "differentiator". His presence, professionalism and kindness is memorable.
Food was terrible and felt like it was already prepared out of a can/box. The guac was definitely not fresh and the huevos rancheros were the worst I've ever had. I've made better ones in my home kitchen.
Nice relaxed place to eat. Food was very good and restaurant was very warm. Only one person was handling serving, bar and hosting which could be an issue on a busier night. Other than that great experience!
Challah French Toast was absolutely amazing
The food was great, but this restaurant was not ready to take on my team of seven. There was one server and one cook for the entire restaurant. The appetizer took nearly a half hour to come out (we just ordered chips and guacamole). The server was nice, but not at all enthusiastic.
I would give this place a chance again, but not with anymore than three people
I was initially surprised by the small size of the place, but the food was quite good - especially the calamari - and we all had a nice time.
Wish you had outdoor seating! The food is quite good but there is available seating areas just outside on the sidewalk that would be quite pleasant.
Awesome homemade corned beef hash!
Pancakes were preheated. Ordered eggs not be to runny. They were runny. Food was prepared ahead of time. Will not be going back.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff.
No pretension, no disappointment. Sullivan Bistro is a neighborhood fixture, with good chow at fair prices. Its old name -- Sullivan Diner -- seemed to fit more comfortably than the current Sullivan Bistro, but only the name changed. This is one place where you want everything to stay the same and it does.
I discovered Sullivan Bistro a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. It's quietly tucked away in the neighborhood and is very small and quaint. The service is friendly and efficient and the menu consists of familiar favorites done well. Pricing is reasonable and the full bar is a plus! Whenever I am in town, I make at least one visit to Sullivan Bistro. You should too!
The Sullivan Bistro is in a space that has housed a number of previous restaurants, including NL, a Dutch restaurant. It's located in a pretty block on Sullivan Street facing a group of little townhouses painted in ice cream colors. This is a cosy, friendly place to come on a regular basis or to take friends from out of town. There are no separate tables, only a banquette that extends all the way around the restaurant with chairs facing the banquette across the tables. The food at lunch is certainly very good. A Cobb salad was traditional, like ones that used to be served at places like 21 and private clubs--mayonnaise-based dressing and easy on the cheese--delicious. A vegetarian omelet contained a generous variety of veggies, including very good freshly cooked spinach--recommended. And, the price is right as they say. We haven't tried dinner, but we will.
I'd like to go back to give it another try. Small restaurant, good environment, good service, food was regular, but I have to consider it was on a Monday night and the place was pretty empty. My friends and I weren't too hungry, so we ordered chips and guac to share, then I ordered the Canadian Bacon, cheese and mushrooms crepe which did not have any flavor. I found myself putting salt on it to get at least some flavor. My friend ordered the french onion soup which he seemed to enjoy, his brother ordered the Sullivan burger, which he seemed to enjoy too. Server was attentive and quick. I would like to go back and try something else, as I've read comments about the food being really good, it may have just been the wrong dish to order.
Sullivan Bistro is a great funky place with high end comfort food. It's all delicious. The manager and waiters are great. They will always make sure your order is just right. They are attentive and efficient. It is my go to place and I am very happy it's right in my neighborhood.
It's a cool and cozy bistro spot for some comfort food.
Awesome quaint little place. I'm officially a fan now and will be an avid regular.
First off, the location is in Greenwich Village. The walk to the place alone is a treat in itself. Second, the place. Very cozy, small yes, but unpretentious and charming. The tables are so close to each other so that's something to consider but otherwise, it didn't bother us. Third, the food. I love Sunday Brunch, wherever I am in the world! And Sullivan Bistro makes up some perfect Brunch Food! Their freshly brewed coffee was nice. I ordered the French Toast with 2 eggs and bacon special and it was warm and wonderfully delicious! Now the Bellinis! My friend and I each had 2 glasses of it and at only $5 each, it felt like such a treat! Who can resist Bellinis for Sunday Brunch? Not we for sure!
Overall a good Sunday Brunch spot. Indulge! =)
Sullivan's was a welcome treat on day three of a long NY weekend. If you are looking for a "normal", reasonably priced dinner, with decent portions, this is a great spot. Homey and relaxing. Fabulous chocolate espresso martini.
I had the hanger steak which was perfectly cooked (med well). The thin cut fries with onions were great. My 4 friends had chicken milanese, ribs, roasted chicken and a cheddar cheeseburger. Everyone was raving about their meals. The only exception was that the fried calamari appetizer was tasteless and rubbery so I would not order it next time.
Relaxing family experience as always. Sullivan Bistro is my favorite in Greenwich Village. It's the best little niche restaurant. They have the best food, the best service and they're in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. A weekend breakfast is the best meal here!
We were celebrating a special birthday. The cozy restaurant, attentive and accommodating staff, delicious food options made for a nice evening!
Quaint New York type of place, good food, straightforward. A+
Had an early reservation and the place was pretty empty. Service was great and food was excellent.
Food was good. Pretty tight quarters which is only a negative in the sense that it could get pretty loud. Service wasn't bad, but also wasn't something that stood out as necessarily great. Would definitely come back again.
Wonderful, hidden gem. Excellent food, service, ambiance, everything you could ask for in a neighborhood find. ;-)
This is a small restaurant with one man and two cooks. It's amazing what they do in here. The food is delicious, the service is great, and though it may seem a bit loud you can still hold a conversation without yelling at your dining partner.
I had the grilled pork chop which come with a apple sauce sweetened with maple syrup. It was juicy and tasty. I definitely recommend this place to you all.
Sullivan Bistro is a small but comfortable bistro which a wide selection of dishes which are well prepared and nicely served. Seems to be frequented by regulars and the service was excellent and unhurried. Reasonable priced for NYC and some prix fix options with several choices. Very relaxed dining in a comfortable and clean environment. We will go back for sure.
This place gives the vibe of an old New York diner. We had a great, quiet, and cozy brunch on a Sunday. They bring complimentary corn bread drizzled with caramel sauce for every table, and unlimited refills for your coffee. The food was great. The wait staff was respectful and kind. Such a cute, little spot.
Great service, great menu for families - lots of options. Very small so definitely make a reservation. Found it a little odd that they had guacamole and chips on the menu, but so glad we ordered it! Chips were homemade and guacamole was terrific!
Solidly good meals. Creative use of eggs in omelets, Benedicts and more. Served with good sides. Lunchtime happy hour for Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, etc.
It's been a while since we've been here to this tiny restaurant. We came back for the consistently good food; and we were pleased with the hanger steak & free range chicken dishes. Calamari was alittle bland though. The waiter/host was very accommodating & attentive. Highly recommend.
Our server was very friendly and attentive . It was really cozy felt like I was home in my own kitchen
Remains place of quality, convenience and satisfaction despite its rather small space.
Specials and menu never get tiresome, and young staff has amazingly little turnover and is consistently friendly and helpful.
Brunch menu is great! Lots of choices. Hard to make a decision. Food was plentiful and good Quality was ok. Waiter was fantastic! There were 6 of us and he took very good care of everybody
A very good inexpensive menu.
Food is well prepared and it's always been a great neighborhood stop.
I've eaten there many times and never had a bad meal.
