We did an Omikase and were delighted by what was served. Our guests from the US felt that this was their best sushi and Japanese experience ever. They make a point of going for sushi in every city they travel to, which is quite a few throughout each year
Great find for dinner! Food was fantastic, staff was very friendly. I highly recommend going here to any friends, family and even have my business meetings here!
The food is amazing and the staff provides great service. Definitely a high recommendation for a great dining experience.
Not very busy at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Great food, we asked our server to pick our sushi and we weren't disappointed! Great saki menu too.
wasnt Even busy and had terrible service. Our waitress forgot we were even there. I will never go back and will let friends know to stay away. Expensive and mediocre.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Sukiyaki House. Great tasting food and great service! Will definitely be back.
Hands down the best sushi place in Calgary!
Best sushi and service in the city. Thanks for everything.
I was impressed. The service was excellent. Drinks frequently refilled, polite and friendly service. The food was a little bit on the pricier side, but I feel it was worth it. Beautiful decor and ambience, it feels like you are actually going out for dinner. The items we ordered we're plated beautifully and tasted divine. Highly recommended!
Amazing as always will go back!!!!
Absolutely the best , combined with high quality seafood and very good service.
Buen producto, fresco. Cumple perfecto con la experiencia . Volvería sin duda
Awsome tempura shrimp, very fresh tuna sashimi!
Really fresh food, superb service, never felt ignored!
Best sushi in town, not as busy as the other more "popular"places
Another memorable dining experience at Sukiyaki! We went to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect. The service and host were excellent as always and introduced us to some creative and tasty dishes. They also offer several vegetarian options which I appreciate. Thank you! We will be back again soon!
Well I must say THANK YOU to the staff. I was late getting there. I called, and they said "come on in, we are closed, but come on in." So grateful, as I love their sushi and atmosphere. Anna is an amazing host, and her daughter was so helpful. Cheers! Hats off to you! Lisa Marie
Very good food, attentive service and a top spot in the downtown core for Sushi.
Once again an amazing dinner out. So thankful for all the beautiful sushi and the attentive, but not over attentive service. One of the remaining relatively under appreciated sushi restaurants in Calgary
Good sushi, fast friendly service. The makeral is gross though (keep it off the daily trip).
Excellent sushi option in downtown Calgary. A few mixups on our order, but didn't take away from the experience. Service was ok, but nothing too memorable. All in all I would recommend.
The food here is good and the staff is friendly, however it does seem like they get overwhelmed and forget simple things like bringing water, refilling drinks, and just checking up on the tables from time to time. If something is forgotten it is very hard to waive down your server who somehow disappears in such a small setting.
Not good. Service was terribly slow and the restaurant was half full. Took 1 hour to get our sushi. When it did arrive, it was one at a time with a solid 10 minutes in between the next roll. Don't be fooled but the gigantic role - it just means more cold white rice...,not more fish. Last and only time. Clearly this is my fault for choosing sushi in Calgary - stick to steak.
The sushi was very good, a little on the pricey side. We went on a Friday night at 7:30 and the restaurant was very quiet. Décor is more suited to a business lunch or dinner, than a date night.
The food was very fresh, tasty and well presented.
Great service & love the food ... tried the octopus carpaccio today fantastic!
Excellent Hamachi!! Thanks!
Excellent food and VERY FRESH! Not busy considering it was a Saturday and Calgary was buzzing with the Comic Expo which by the way we were not attending. Great for late night dinning if you don't want a heavy meal:) We'll go back! It's very centrally located downtown, just a block down from the Palliser Hotel.
Needs sound dampening. Echos too much so can't hear yourself think
Food is excellent
Sushi are great, rolls are not! Rolls have lots of rice in them and you barely feel the fish. One red tuna roll smelled bad, the rest are hard to eat, due to the amount of rice in the rolls.
Delicious food as usual - especially the miso soup, beef tataki and sashimi!!
The service is bad. The waiter was very impolite. The price is expensive but not delivered the food to customers. Not worth it. Never come back again. 😤👎
Sashimi cuts are well pro-portioned, you get a lot for the price, very fresh and awesome presentation. Our daughter tried Hotategai (scallop) for the first time, and proceeded to eat the three peices I'd ordered for myselt, her new favorite apparently.
Rolls are very inventive and tasty (salmon skin roll is best in town, IMO). Nice selection of imported Japanese Sake and Whiskey.
Some of our party had cooked entre (beef tenderloin) that needed to be sent back to kitchen, as it wasn't cooked to med-well as asked. This was handled very professionally and quickly.
Sukiyaki House has consistently good sushi - I get here for business lunch whenever possible. One finding though is to make your reservations earlier in the noon hour if possible (prior to 12 noon) and to be efficient getting your order in to your server and the kitchen. They seem to get backed up pretty easily and you'll have a long wait on your hands if you don't prepare.
Our favourite sushi place in Calgary. Sushi and sashimi are the best quality and the rolls are creative and delicious. Mixed tempura was very good and the beef tataki outstanding. We have always found the service to be efficient and friendly even if there is a large group.
The hot pot was fabulous! I can't wait to come back and order it again.
Thanks Suyaki House
We hadn't been to Sukiyaki House in a while but the food was delicious and definitely good value for the price and quantity and high quality. Service was also excellent - very efficient but not overly intrusive. There is enough room so that you are comfortable and you can have a conversation without yelling. We will most certainly go back!
Honestly, their sushi selection isn't all that good, and sushi rolls were cut into giant pieces which were very difficult to eat. Tori karaage was by far the best I have ever had however. Did not try hot pot or any other main dishes.
Nice place, however there are better places to go in Clagary for the same price if not slightly cheaper.
The restaurant was really nice. The food was exceptional. The only complaint was the portion size of the entree and the wait time to receive the food was quite a while.
