SukhoThai - Uptown
We look forward to seeing you!
This was the perfect cozy place after a chilly day. The staff was warm and friendly and personal and their recommendations were right on the money! Well priced, well presented food. Will definitely return!
Overall, everything was decent except there was a weird hard piece of plastic in my soup. Also not very flavorful.
The whole fish (red snapper) and the Whiskey Fish both tasted great, but the smell was EXCEPTIONALLY fishy. It has been my experience when fish smells fishy, it is "old" and not fresh. again. When I eat there again, and the fish smells this fishy, I will return it to the kitchen. Otherwise, this was a pleasant dining experience.
Fantastic, fresh food, the most extensive vegan menu of almost any place in New Orleans, a bartender who knows how to make a classic gin martini, and the most wheelchair accessible and friendly place we've been to in six months of looking. Kudos! We will be back.
Excellent food, original dishes, terrific service, solid value!
Best Thai in New Orleans! Will definitely visit again next time I’m here.
We did not like the food or service this time. Third time here and loved it before but waitress was pushy, steak was over cooked and wrong seasoning level and waitress didn’t seem to care. Won’t go back
I believe the a/c wasn’t working properly it was warm and our waiter was pretty sweaty.
I would have preferred that the basil scallops were browned a bit for more flavor. The vegetables were perfect.
terrible terrible service!!! a joke to go here... dont
Did I mention TERRIBLE SERVICE??
Great food. Very authentic!
Second trip here and our server John did an amazing job serving us again. We try to come now every time we come to New Orleans. The curries are the best we have ever eaten!
We just got a really bad server who was more concerned with how his hair looked than making sure we got the best service. The menu is confusing. There are two whole fish chef's specials on the menu. The waiter failed to point that out and of course, we weren't served what we had expected. We've had many good meals here before but for some reason, the whole experience was off on this particular evening. The whole fish was disappointing. Should have stuck with the traditional curries we were used to.
We go here periodically. I too often get the Pad Thai, great, but I ought to try new things. This time I got the Pad Thai (very good, again). An Old Fashioned was good but not great. I finished, and waited, and waited, and waved, and signaled. It took at least 20 minutes just to attract the bill.
Food was good but poor service- had to ask multiple times and multiple people for basic things such as water refills and the spice rack. Was never checked up on and the food was good but the service was extremely lacking.
Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, our waitress kept rushing us to order—after we told her TWICE we were waiting for our third party. She was pushy and couldn’t read the table at all. She didn’t even point out the specials when we asked if there were any (there were and things we’d rather have ordered at that).
The “atmosphere” was cheap, ugly and boring. Our table also wobbled.
We won’t be going back.
Went to an early lunch with my girlfriend and we had a lovely time.
Best Thai food I have ever put in my mouth. We had the dim sum, fresh spring rolls, pineapple curry, and the green curry. Highly recommend it. I even suggested they offer a curry flight which showcases all the ones they offer as a menu item. We will be back and we live over 2 hours away.
Waiter didn’t have much enthusiasm for life.
I was expecting a compromised service due to Valentine's but great food and quick service. Got done with the food in 45 minutes
It was our first time dining here and our experience was excellent. We shared the the vegan fresh rolls for an appetizer, & I ordered the Caribbean Pirate which was incredible. They offer 5 different levels of spice levels, and I chose level 3 (medium), which was perfect, but level 4 (medium hot) would’ve been too hot for my liking. The service and ambiance was great as well. We will be dining here again in the near future.
Good Thai food. The spice level is surprisingly hot, so be conservative here.
Had a galentines dinner at Sukho Thai and we were seated right by the window. It was an awesome view and the drink specials were good. The service was great and despite an issue with the tab, the restaurant responded quickly and helped right away. The drunken noodles are the best
My Party of Three enjoyed sukhothai very much the food was very good the service was good nice restaurant would recommend 2 anyone
Everything was awesome- we had 4 ppl and the only complaint was the soft shell crab seemed to be previously frozen- it had a fishy taste! The shrimp pockets n crab dumplings were excellent! Drinks were good also!
Dinner with out of town guests who needed a break from the tourist-y places they’d been going. Tea menu has many choices. Husband & I had usual order: shrimp in a pouch, edamame, drunken noodles & shrimp pad Thai (that the chef kindly removed the tails for me so I could avoid the mess of removing them.)Guests really enjoyed dishes, a vegan and a “timid tastebuds” included. Excellent as always.
We walked into SukhoThai looking forward to a Thai meal...one of favorite cuisines. The food was good but overpriced in our experience, even for New Orleans. What really made us sad about our choice was the service. Not once during our meal did our server come to the table to ask how we were doing. The restaurant was not that busy--fairly early in the evening. He didn't look happy to be there, wasn't very helpful with our questions and did not offer a dessert menu at the end.
Choose food carefully. Mixed quality, value. Some items super good (soft shell crab appetizer) others not so great (pork and Chinese broccoli) - broccoli not Chinese, totally uninteresting.
Just met a friend at the bar for a quick bite and a couple of cocktails ... bartender was excellent
Our waitress was not friendly at all and barely checked on the table. The bartender took better care of us than she did.
Lunch was lovely but the desserts are over priced. Overall delicious!
Waited an hour for food. Seemed like we were forgotten. When the food did come, it was wrong.
Garlic Chicken was raw on one of the dishes but waitress quickly had it replaced! Everything else I had ( Tom Yum soup, dancing salad, sizzling salmon ) was the bomb!! As usual!
Excellent lunch menu and great service. We eat Thai food often and this was very nicely prepared.
Good food, very vegetarian friendly. We'd definitely come back again.
The food was mediocre at best. The heat level was disappointing for Thai. Of the 6 dishes we ordered, only one was good, but not great.
Always feel like I am eating healthy when I go to Sukho Thai - which in Nola can be a challenge at times - great atmosphere - great service and the food is solid - I had the sizzling salmon and it was delish -
The green curry is delicious! At medium, it has a perfect spicy level. The drunken rice is amazing as well.
This is Thai dining that’s very good. Nice place, comfortable, we had a great waiter, and service was prompt. We tried several items on the menu, and were impressed. We’ll be going back, often, and bringing friends and family. Our daughter is vegan so she’ll be able to find good eats.
Very tasty dishes. We tried 4 entres and 2 appetizers. Loved the drunken noodles and the royal pad Thai. I’ll definitely be returning.
Took a very long time to get our appetizers even after asking to check on them. They arrived at the same time as our meal. There were no apologies given. Our food was all good just disappointed with the timing and service.
