Always a good meal. Had the salmon special was was perfectly prepared. Would like to see the menu evolve more though. Seems largely unchanged in a while.
The filet mignon was delicious. It paired well with the Zin. Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem!
Bistro steak was a five. Pasta needed sauce and more flavor. Waitress was terrific-friendly and knowledgeable. Salads were excellent.
We sent to Sugar Beet for our anniversary. We have been to Sugar Beet before and always love the excellent service and the delicious food. This visit was no different. We were seated promptly and had our drink order taken.
We could not wait to get the brussel sprouts, they are so good. I had the steak and my husband had the pork special. Everything was perfect. My only criticism is that everything was so good, we finished it all and didn't have room for dessert.
We'll be back!
Very nice place for our our 17 wedding anniversary. Good value on wine, great cocktails.
Great food, wine, cocktails, and dessert. Made our special occasion really something to remember
Excellent food and service, but very energetic. This is our 4th dining experience at Sugar Beet and will go again. The Chesapeake Oysters and Ahi Tuna were excellent. We discovered an excellent Schlumberger white wine.
Matre de was not friendly. Table was too small and menus too big. Some of the dishes were good, but steak was undercooked. I prefer a warmer ambiance than was provided.
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. We had to wait just a few minutes for our table so they brought us each a really good glass of sparkling wine which was thoughtful. It was also our anniversary and the server included our sorbet desert on her. The entrees were delicious, meat perfectly cooked.
We have dined at Sugarbeet several times. Have never been disappointed!
I'd been wanting to checkout Sugarbeet for quite awhile, based on spectacular reviews I'd read/seen a couple years ago. While it's taken me a while, it absolutely lived up to the reviews! It is in a very unusual location, but it's a very nicely done restaurant on the inside and on the patio. My friend and I chose to sit on the patio, because it was a beautiful day, and we also wanted to take advantage of happy hour, which is only available on the patio and bar area (the bar area is surprisingly large, and nicer than most.) It seems like a nice quiet restaurant, even on the patio, with the one exception being when a train passes, which is very, VERY loud. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and very attentive, and I am looking forward to returning there again very soon.
We had the specials, and the food was plentiful and service was amazing. A great place for a quiet delicious meal.
Food was all very good but a bit pricey for Longmont. Drinks were a bit expensive too. Liked the atmosphere although the entire place had a bit of a musty smell to it. Very good service.
Excellent service. Good food. Interesting menu. We had avoided this restaurant because of an experience we had several years ago. They had just added a new area that was so noisy that we literally had to shout. And even then couldn't hear each other. This problem seems to have been addressed. This time it wasn't as noisy and we could talk to each other. We will come back soon.
So, I'm sure this place is lovely. I'm sure the food is delicious, and the ambiance is wonderful. However, when my girlfriend picked this off of the list of places we could potentially get a pre-homecoming dinner, I was not expecting what I got. The food is definitely on the pricey side, which is not really recommended for two broke high school kids, and not to be THAT GUY, but we picked this place from a search of vegan restaurants, but the only things we could eat were the salads, and we essentially subsisted on the bread. The bread was DELICIOUS. Other people's food smelled great. The decor was lovely. It's just not the best for two vegan lesbians trying to be real adults for the first time.
The food was delicious and wait staff were very attentive but not intrusive. I realize this all costs $, but $12 for a piece of chicken on a $7 salad seems excessive. Prices are a bit more than I wish to pay on a regular basis.
Sugarbeet always delivers an amazing meal. It was the best crab cakes we ever had and the key lime pie was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
This was our third visit and, the first two would have been 4-4.5 stars if I had reviewed the restaurant then.
Unfortunately, this visit was extremely lackluster, and it came almost completely down to our server. She was inexperienced, impersonal, had trouble with the drink and specials menu, and seemed very wooden. Dinner felt a little rushed, which came as a surprise. It wasn't the relaxed, fun, casual fine dining experience we'd loved two times before.
Our bread plate came out with burned sourdough, which was not a deal killer but a bummer nonetheless for one of Longmont's premier fine dining establishments.
Our starters and our entrees were well-prepared and tasty. Plating, though, was fussy and a bit haphazard, and the plate used for one of our entrees was cluttered and difficult to work with.
We may give Sugarbeet another shot in the future, and I sincerely hoped our third time would be a charm. Sadly, it wasn't.
we went for our anniversary celebration and it was perfect! I loved it how nice and quiet it was and the food and service was very good.... Will be going back.
I have been to Sugar Beet three times and it seems to have declined in quality. We were there on a Saturday night, so we wouldn't have expected my husband's fries to be stale. Also, the portions were quite small. I ordered the scallops and had to have a snack when I got home. I ordered a glass of Malbec and it was the stingiest pour I think I have ever had in all my years of dining out. Our server, however, was friendly and professional. I am rooting for this place and hope they go back to what made them so appealing when they first opened.
Most likely the best fine dining in Longmont-- outstanding beer, wine,
and cocktails, innovative appetizers, seasonal salads and soups, entrees, and desserts-- the entire menu will not disappoint! The service is friendly and knowledgeable and eager to please. A steak entree which was a bit too rare was taken back to the kitchen when asked with a genuine apology and brought back medium well.
Sugarbeet is a gem and not to be missed !
Excellent fresh food! Service was fantastic . New owenweship
Excellent food and wine.
Superb experience! First time for both friend and myself.
Delicious food. Attentive service. Unpretentious ambiance. Definitely get the scallops!
Sugarbeet is a wonderful restaurant! The food is wonderful, as is the service!
Bonus points to this evening's staff for accommodation they are not required to give. I'd forgotten my wallet, and called in with my payment card upon return home. Meanwhile, the food? Easily some of the best I've enjoyed in months... including London, Reykjavik, and Dar es Salaam. Service? Perfect. Great night out, guys -- thanks again!
Great restaurant! Food wonderful. Service great. Friendly staff.
Another very enjoyable meal at Sugarbeet. Our table of 6 had a selection of appetizers, with the Gazpacho and Pea & Edamame Hummus getting raves, along with the house-brined olives. The Crispy Eggplant entree is always a favorite. The ravioli special was reported to be quite good, and I greatly enjoyed a large portion of Ahi Tuna. Even though the dining room was full when we arrived, the noise level is low enough to have a conversation at a larger table. Service is very pleasant. We appreciate a good selection of beers, including drafts, as we are not big wine drinkers. Sugarbeet is a perennial favorite spot for us for special occasions. Not inexpensive (about $55/person), but a reasonable price for a dining experience of this quality.
Good food in a warehouse setting. Difficult to find and a bit pricey. Very good service. Need to find a new location.
The food and service were outstanding. The sound reverberates within the dining area and there is rather loud backround music playing...made it hard to have a conversation during dinner.
The Sugarbeet is a great local restaurant, visit and you'll see what I mean.
Fantastic Food!!! We were visiting Lyons Colorado and chose this restaurant to celebrate a family birthday. It was a very pleasant experience.
Terrific food, chef was able to accommodate special requests. Loved the main course and dessert. Wait staff is great. It is loud inside, and it is expensive.
Another great meal! So happy to see that the new owners are raising the bar on an already favorite neighborhood gem. We loved the seasonal flair in a yummy grilled peach and barrette salad. The Caesar salad dressing is great too! We enjoyed the Beef steak with horseradish sauce, beets and other veggies as well as the delicious Seared tuna and the Sea Scallops. Nice wines were suggested that easily rate as great taste and good value too! Cant wait to come back!
Best meal we both have had in quite a while. Pork tenderloin and Bistro Steak were wonderful. Appetizers were great and the wine was delicious.
Love sugar beet. Real food cooked really well. Atmosphere is accepting of all patrons and their dress and I feel really valued when we visit.
We were visiting in the area and were looking for a good evening meal. We sure got that and much more. Sugarbeet has a very interesting menu that delivered on every item we ordered. The wedge and greens salads were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. The chard and mushroom pasta had plenty of each ingredient, but could have used a little more cheese and salt (although the salt was on the table). The lamb was perfectly cooked but was overwhelmed by the amount of chard on the plate. The grilled pineapple and coconut ice cream dessert was perfect. The service was as good as it gets. We would definitely return.
The food was of average quality and overpriced. I ordered my lamb chops "medium rare" but they were served very rare. No problem to send them back, however, they were still undercooked but done enough for me to eat. The BBQ ribs had way too much sauce on them, overpowering ant flavor the ribs may have had. Unimaginative wine list. We had a pleasant waitress who provided acceptable service.
Came here for husband's birthday dinner. Great American food with a creative touch.
